OK, I'm late getting started, but a recent move from the U.S. to Mexico City put an abrupt halt to all my projects. I need to get going again. So here is my build.
Now I need to get started!
Hello Guy,
I have the exact same kit on my workbench! Although it was a little hard to find, I ultimately located one reasonably priced on eBay.
I would have loved to enlist in this campaign but unfortunately, I already started builds for a diorama (two vehicles, one artillery piece and nine figures) way back in March -- bummer. Even so, I've been following the campaign with much interest since its onset. And now that I see your entry, I'll be able to live vicariously through your version of the Ausf.H! ... I'll just sit back, have a beer (or a bottle of water) and watch you do all the work!
In closing, I just wanted to wish you and the others good luck with what looks to be a very interesting campaign!

Thanks Mike,
I'll try not to disappoint. This will be the first kit I do here in Mexico. Hope to get some serious work done on it this weekend.

Nice work Sean. I would have seen a pickup without doors and a battered bodywork.

Thanks Alex. Looking at pics from Libya and Syria they all seem to be in very good condition. Those from Somalia, Chad and Mali seem ready to fall apart.

I can't get over the fact that these things don't do wheelies every time they pull off.
Is the front waited down somewhere?
All that extra weight on the back deck the front wheels must be skipping along.
She's looking real cool now though.
John I think you're gonna beat me this time round

Hi gents,
Little updates.
Internal side of the doors with bolts and handle.
I put a plastic mesh from an old Academy kit, under the bonnet.
The result with the part in place.
I rebuilt bonnet lockings. Italeri parts don't look like either closely or by far the real parts.
Here real part
Here my two scratch parts, and below the Italeri part
I put some cables on the radio equipment. I have painted the screen of the control computer with "smoke" color from Tamiya but on the photo it appears matt. Strange !

Alex that detail isn't going to pop when you where the wash down

looking great even the weathering on the inside of the bonnet

Some hull details added and worked on the rubber wheel part, it will need at least 3 coats of it.

Hi Alex, I think we have a slight language problem
. When people say "pop" the meaning is that the detail shows up good
, you follow?
Well when I wrote boom I mean that your details are going to look absolutely fantastic. The area between the front seats, where you have removed some of the wash, is what I am talking about. When you get the rest done it will explode with details, you know what I mean now?
Hi John, nice looking hull there and I am glad you ran out of paint
.
Here's my update:
gloss, decals, and a start to the beating up of this worn warrior, er....I mean Challenger

Great work Paul, I really like the paint job.
That Tamyia kit looks datailed, clean and easy to build.
I'm going to try to finish the hull deatils & PE mesh screens.
And give another coat on the wheels too.

Hi Paul, Yes I understand now ! Thank you.
Sorry my english is too bad. I try to understand what do the people say here but it's sometimes difficult.
Great progress on your Challenger. I Like the antilip surface aspect.

Getting pretty close to finishing!
Given there is a bit of time left in this campaign, I'm considering preparing a base and doing a proper diorama to finish the presentation. Overall pretty happy with how it has turned out.
Still not 100% happy with the figures, they go from being too pale, then too dark, then too much wash, too grey, looking like zombies... etc.

Looks like we're on to the same kit Benjamin, though mine's still a long way to go.
Didn't want to post even the startup pic till am sure I could get rolling on this build.
I just started the other day -- quite happy that this one builds well and quick. Progress pics from two sessions of work:
Barring distractions, am hoping to finish the build phase over the weekend.
Cheers,

John looking good as always bro
.
Guy nice progress mate
, but take it easy we have plenty of time left
Benjamin looking cool there
, The only thing I can see is that the uniforms are maybe a tick on the dark side.
But that could be cured with a light wash or two
Tat nice to see you have started dude
, and take it also easy as there are 6 weeks left yet
Here's an update from the Chally, I have added some panel lining with AK wash for DAK vehicles and some streaking with oils:
More tomorrow lads
