thanks for all the kind words you guys, I made some tracks in the snow after I took the pics, so no it is no longer "floating" that's just a standard 12 by 12 ceramic tile so not a whole lot of room to really work with.

Actually I think he was referring to the lack of "sag" in the tracks after they come off the drive sprocket, normally it will sag down onto the top of the road wheels.

ohhhhhh ok, got ya, yeah the kit comes with vinyl tracks, so I just used those, you can adjust the tension with the rear wheels. maybe I'll adjust it.

You might also have to glue it down to the road wheels, and you can stuff wadded up paper or something between the tracks and the underside of the upper hull to keep the tracks down until the glue sets. I think sometimes the tracks "form" to shape when this is done so sometimes glue isn't even necessary. Some of the other guys may be able to comment on this.

Current progress:
Lower hull and drive train built.
Lower hull interior parts in and basecoated. I left the engine vents open so, i just basecoated the area black.
Anyone know what color the seats should be?
I know they will not really be seen, but i would like to do them anyways.

Marc,
The cushions are usually black. Frames and backs should be interior color. Hope that helps.

So got the tracks fitted, now just waiting for my new air compressor and I can start painting the camo and tracks. Did try a bit of brown on the drive sprocket but doesn't look red enough. First time working with Magic Tracks, went pretty quick and easy.

Thanks, I was a little worried at first and kept putting them off because I'd seen a lot of people complain about them, but then my compressor sh*t the bed, and my kit for the armoured car campaign hasn't shown up yet so I figured what the hell...

Nice looking KT and Russian Tiger 4x4'. As for that super fast Tiger I, great build. Only real issue I can see with it the decals are a little glossy, a very light coat of clear flat or maybe very misted coat of flat white and/or panzer grey would make them look tops and blend them better.

As for my Tomcat progress, well um the cockpit had an accident on painting (ie a ballsed up impatient rush job). I ended up ordering Eduard's Big Ed set for and its looking much better. Following pics are at current stage ready for some touch up paint before sealing up the cockpit and nose section.

Thanks Andrew, your Tomcat is looking very good too.

Another small update, worked on the equipment & doors.

I would be quite happy to finish the doors this week.

MG's and camo will be next..

Here are some progress shots, I used some Gunze liquid putty to give the hull some texture. Might have over done it a bit in spots. It is a resin upper hull and turret since it is a conversion. Tracks are next to be painted and installed. I just noticed that the rear hatch is not level, will fix that.
There are a great selection of kits and well done execution in completing them. I will do what I can to keep up the quality of workmanship.

Equipment & doors done.

I will leave the driver's door open, the others closed.

Weapons turret & antennas will be put when the camo's done.

Started the camo

But I don't like the camo pattern provided so.. I'm thinking of going for an ambush WWII mixed with the green / black and Sand colours..

I got some progress done on my Puma today. I am lucky i got this far todayt, as i was having a frustrating day with some parts that just shouldn't have been as difficult as they were for me.
And then i noticed a broken antenna on my Brummbar build (big Cats campaign). It broke in the weirdest place and i have no idea when i did it. So i had to cut my building time short to keep from just messing anything else up.

Hopefully i can have a better building time tomorrow.

Hi all

Glad I can join in the fun.

As you can see I've just started, but I'm hoping to use some of the improvements suggested on David Bryden's excellent site:-

http://tiger1.info/models/products/TAM35227

(I'm not sure I can be fussed with the front hull changes though!)

Thanks for your help on these David, it's appreciated.

I've been working on the puma here and there. Gun is built. Adding etch details.
I went down earlier to work on it and noticed a leak in one of the water pipes, so no modeling time for me.
I hate working on plumbing!!!

High stress and a lack of a USB cable kept my building speed up (I build for stress relieve) and my picture count low. I'll build what IMHO is the most beautiful german tank, the Leopard1A5:

A long saturday later

And a first fix of the wheels

And in painting

The paint sheme in the instructions is lousy and the pictures I have all show a faded "guess what" schema.

I will depict the kit as seen in some Tankograd pictures on the Leo1A5
