Thanks I might be tempted to do so, KV-III (sound good)
The snow is actually a test, its backing baking soda but you never get depth easily and some times it looks like a melted slush, so I was thinking to use late file on a piece polystyrol and use the filing as I read some where on Armorama, however,..it Takes ages to get enough.
So then I tried something new and much faster, "paper mache" using with toilet paper easily you can create depth and control it ( below is the test piece) a base for one of the previous builds. Once the paper mache is dry go over it with the baking soda slush and "voila" (i did make a mess off it on the base,..next time i will be more careful)


Baking soda in the middle, right lower corner the small area of polystyrol, above and below the toilet paper with not yet added baking soda on top.

Thanks for the Information Jan that tank looks awesome. I was able to get a Dirty wash on the KV-1, I Tried a dusting as well . I am Calling this one as of now I wont have anymore time to weather as what i've ordered wont be here for a few weeks. I did not like the way the dusting looked so I cleaned it off and redid the dirty wash. I also tried to add some usage marks and some exhaust/fuel stains.

I tried to give a dirty oily urban feel

dust didn't stay on tracks so I added some diluted metallic coloring to the tracks trying to make them look used. my attempts at rain/water/wet effects didn't pan out this time am trying them again on one of my junk kits. I had fun doing this build and would like thank yall for the nudge to reattempt weathering. Thanks

You're going in the right direction and don't let anybody tell you different .
Just keep practicing and you'll be adding mud, dust rain streaks,fuel staines, rust, scratches, scuff marks.......... in no time.

Well...After the long delay in getting the Masterclub pin issue sorted (Thanks Roman!) they finally arrived but I still struggled to get the tracks together in time, those little pins are so damn delicate..and then realised how difficult it is to brush-paint metal tracks...

So unfortunately while I have thrown it all together for some pics, the result isn't quite a finished tank. But as I was one of the people calling for an extension I figure I should at least show where I got to.

Here is the pic I took of the MC tracks, a month before I actually tried to assemble them.
Unlike me, most of you can probably tell just from that pic that the pins (on the right) are incorrect. I never did find out what they were for though, any suggestions?

Here we are with my (for now) finished build...

Things left to do:
-Properly attach fenders (just put on for pic)
-Inserting pins in tracks properly, while not in a rush to avoid snapping more heads off... Then going over tracks again with some more paint...How do you guys do it?! I desperately need to get an airbrush!
-Tow cables are still missing.
-Last but certainly not least - I want to try to weather this, time to experiment with some scratches and rain marks!


Thanks for the campaign, still a huge fan of the KV and hopefully when the part 3 comes along I will have more time, and skill, to complete it this time.

Hi Alex, it's a shame you haven't gotten further dude.
Hopefully you make it through the next one (part 3), which I won't be running.
As to your MC tracks, they are white metal or not? You could try "chemical staining" with "Blacken it" or Uschi van der Rosten burnishing fluid ( http://www.uschivdr.com/products-in-detail/friul-burnishing/ ), but I don't know what that does to the pins. They look plastic and might get dissolved, you could try staining the tracks as individual links and then put them together. The other way is to spray them with an airbrush or even try spray can paint.

My 1/72 KV-1 Trumpeter has been finished.

It's late so I'll have to take better pictures in the morning, but I'm calling it done. I have a figure I'll be putting in the hatch.

The other KV's weren't quite finished, at least to my liking so I'll tinker with those some more. Hoping to see KV campaign 3!

Nice finish Comrade, shame the figure isn't there but maybe we'll see him later.

Try this Comrade:

1. Shrink your picture using an image changing website, I use this place doesn't cost anything and the pics are downloaded straight from and to your pc, after an hour they erased from the site:

2. Shrink the image to ca. 594 in width and 446 in height,
after you have shrunk it and downloaded to your pc, you must take the image from "downloads" and place it a normal file.
There is a limit to the size of your picture, but I am not sure what it is any more.

3. Go to the Gallery page:

4. Click the "choose image" image button and add the pictures.

5. hit the upload button at the bottom of the page, this should then go through to the next step.

6. now you can add some info about your build, if you wish to.

7. click the "submit" button and that is it.

I have just done a test run and and added a StuG to the gallery .

If anyone knows an easier method then please let us know.
