Hi Kurt,
Nice work. What lengths are the Verlinden barbed wire? AA do some but the lengths at too short to be effective.
Looking good.

Hello guys ,
i've lost the description of the barbed wire , Alan. But i think if the wire is completely cut out in one piece the length could be about 50 cm. It is not very easy to handle though but it looks more realistic on your diorama .
Yes Romain ,nature is like a wild horse to mankind ....
Thanks for looking in !
Greets Kurt

Hi folks ,
i was thinking about creating something special for the field behind the tank . To keep the mystery alive ,( because how can a battlefield remain undetected after hundred years ???)i'll put a figure of a man with his bike and a dog on that field.
So the dog discovered the field and the boss is looking very surprised because all he wants to do is letting the dog out , going home to reed his newspaper , having a nice cup of coffee ,maybe a little nap too well deserved because his week was like hell.....and now his standing in the middle of a WWO 1 battlefield.....stuck in the mud and the battery of his mobile phone gets empty.....and his wife is very suspicious.....
Good story ???
Cheers
Kurt
P.s ; Stay tuned !

Hello everyone ,
small update !
I started to make the dog a German shepherd an item from Tamiya.Just glued two parts together and the job was done.
The dog will be placed (when the paint job is finished of course )just before the rear of the tank.
Greets,
Kurt

Hej Kurt,
brilliant idea!! (a belgian shepherd would have been better , but we are not spoiled with animals in 1/35)
Seriously, the dog looks just perfect....he looks "interested"
Good luck with the painting! Not easy to achieve realism, but you'll do fine!
what figure are you going to use for the cyclist...Mk35??
Do keep us in the loop, please!!
Cheers

Enjoyed following this thread and admiring your great work, thanks for posting and congrats.
Also admire how you handle all the advice on details that may or may not be part of what your imagination has conjured and brought to life.
In saying that perhaps a Dachshund would be more suited to the scene.

Hello guys ,
hi Romain,
Hehehehe....there's a small difference between a German shepherd and a shepherd Malinois (Belgian dog ). The German shepherd is taller and the dog is more like a hunter. The Belgian dog is more for protective duties. Thank you for having faith in me concerning the painting . I'll do the best i can
The figure is from Model Victoria an Italian company . Dolce Italia Including resin parts and after market goodies Okay anyway thanks m8.
Hi Garry ,
thank you very much for the compliments and for the visit . No not a walking sausage on my diorama mate, in real live he would be like a grasshopper jumping around in the field
Hi Sean ,
thanks for the visit and the kind words !
Hi Jerry ,
you to brother , thanks for checking in and therefore the excellent loyalty factor .
to all of you !Stay tuned please
P.S ; Yesterday in Passendale near Ypres a farmer found a German depot from WWO 1 in a field with ( they guess) over 3000 shells filled with liquid poison gas . The Belgian military will need at least a month to clear the field. This was a hot item on the news in Belgium. Every year a hundred tons of ammunition is deported from the fields around the town of Ypres .

Hey Kurt. Love the idea with the dog and bike. Just a though, maybe scratched up a rabbit under the back of the tank which would have the dogs very attention. I scratched one from a set of doll house squirles. Pretty small for doll house but when I carved off the ears and tail, built up some plastic ears and a round fuzzy putty tail, it looed pretty good. Or maybe a squirl sitting on the upper back of the tank. Nature has taken over and all the little places an animal could find for a home would be very suitable. Any way you go with this, it is a splended dio that has come together and is a pleasure to look at. Supergb craftmanship.

Hey Romain ,
thanks for looking in m8 !
More pics , sure ! Here they come ;
By the way , the red dots and spots on the dog are not blood marks but just color tones in the fur. it did not come out very well in my opinion ...
And the object on the tank is a rooster !!!

Hi Kurt,
thanks for the pics m8!
Red spots on doggi are a tad strange I must admit!
Both animals are a little too shiny, don't you think!
Still...it is a pleasure to see this dio in all its splendour!

You're welcome Romain .
the shiny look on the animals is caused by the oil paint wich was not dry yet at the time i took the pictures.

The Flanders field American cemetery is expecting an important visitor next week. President Obama is coming to Brussels and it is almost certain that the president will attend the ceremony at the cemetery in Waregem .(According to the Belgian media )
It is the only American WWO 1 cemetery in Belgium and each year there is a memorial day to commemorate the fallen soldiers.

Strongly reminds me of the WWII cemetery in Hamm (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), where George S. Patton is buried among his soldiers.
The crosses and stars haven't changed over the decades.
I simply love american cemeteries for their unique atmosphere!!

Yes,
