Ola Kurt

It has been a joy reading through this post so far. Love the story you are weaving in this thoughtful diorama. Plus it is coming together wonderfully. So much to like. Looking forward how this progresses.

Hello everyone ,

tonight i'll paint the figure and trying to assemble the bike.....

the pictures ;

the frame with the wheels is damaged and that's my fault, however the wheels are intact.

I'm not much of a figure painter so wish me luck please !

Cheers

Hi Kurt,

wood looks weathered and really old now!! Well done!!
Figure has a super stance, very realistic!!

When Alan said "good luck with the bike", I thought he might have already encountered the PE problems himself!?!
We found it tricky..!

Are you going to paint the figure in acrylics??

Good luck! ..amd Happy Easter!!

Cheers

Thanks Alan for looking in and the support and the compliments much appreciated !

Hello Romain , it's nice to have you back m8 !

Happy Easter to you too and thanks for wishing me good luck.

After several hours of labor , i must say to my regret the bike did not make it ! The wheels are indeed very tricky to manipulate and the resin is very fragile . You must be a surgeon to handle the bike with care (IMHO ).....or maybe i'm to clumsy to do the job???

Well ??? A little breakdown !

No worries , there is always a B-plan !

I came up with the idea to transfer the figure in something else . Let's make an artist of that guy making a drawning or painting of the field.....

So i made something that leads to , so the story becomes more evident...

The chair is an item of Tamiya , the table (easel?)is scratch build . I'm open for suggestions
( still busy painting that figure though , with acrylics )
Cheers Kurt.

Hi Kurt,

This has been a really interesting build to watch - very skilled model building, plus interesting concept and approach - the easel is a great twist - it serves to explain plenty, or opens the door to more questions - at this point, between the build and the artist? Historian? Archaeologist? The composition leaves room for metaphor/story - really whatever you want. Maybe it's a self portrait?!?? (The dio that is). Or, I'm just misreading all of it!! Good in any event :-)

Cheers

Hello Guys ,

- Jerry , no it's not Van Gogh but a local historian with a great passion. Thanks for keeping the faith in this diorama.

- Alan , apparently plan B is better suited than the original entention... Thanks for looking in .

- Nick , in Flanders we say ; '' You hit the nail on the head '' meaning you hit the right spot or you're right . It is obvious to me that you have a clear view and meaning about dioramas. However , Alan was right about those letters in the field it was to unlikely to assume that they came from the soldiers.... to much fantasy !

Nevertheless , people think about dioramas in their own different way and everyone hase an opion. To me it's a tribute

Thank you for looking in and your toughts

Greets

Thanks Alan ,

much appreciated !

Pity , the bicycle is lost . Otherwise it would be a perfect match with the easel...

Cheers ,

Hi Kurt,

I'm sorry I was right about the bike being tricky!! We tried one and ended up where you are!!

Good idea that with the artist!! I like your scratch job of the easel!! Well done indeed!!

Could it be that it's a tad huge?!! I've painted quite a lot in the open, and mine was made to be carried (by me!!).

Anyway, more story...and that's always good!!

Cheers

Hello Romain ,

well what can i say ? You need special tools to handle the wheels .

Concerning the easel , i'm glad you like the idea and my scratch work too.
I did not calculate the right dimensions into small scale . I have estimated the proportions of the easel.
So, to make a long story short you could be right m8.

My inspiration for the easel, by this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYcbS6-LwF4

But there are bigger and larger easels

Fascinating stuff !

Thank you again for checking out and the kind words.

Hello everyone ,

last time i forgot to say i've made the figure younger. So he looks at least 40-45 years old ( my age ) instead of 55-60 years.

I have made a more detailed picture.

I'll finish the diorama this weekend, stay tuned !
Cheers

Kurt.

Hej you..!!!

what's wrong with being 60????

You wanted to make him young enough to carry the heavy easel, confess!!

But knowing your preference for stories, we could always say his farm is just over the crest of the hill, so not really far away...o.s.!!??!!

Looks great m8!! Like it a lot!!

Waiting for the finished dio then!

Cheers

......who me ????

Well let me tell you something ,old but smart and funny m8 from Vienna. There is nothing wrong being 60 ! It was just more fun to make him look younger .....I'm glad you like it.

Now about his farm not far away from the field ..... okay let's keep it that way

Thanks for looking in Romain .

Hello everyone ,

this will be the last update of the diorama , i'm finished !!

The field of silence is a representation of an old battlefield from WWO I somewhere on the western front.

During an offensive in 1918 the British army is fighting furiously to conquer the hill from the Germans. After a long time of heavy fighting the British army supported by tanks succeed to force the German army to withdraw.

But than comes the mystery ????? This field is forgotten for some strange reason ????

The local villagers call this place '' the field of silence '' .

One day hundred years later a historian and his dog( new in the village )visit the field and decides to unravel the mystery.

And this is how i imagined it...... are you folks ready for the next photos ????? Here we go !

DONE !

I thank you for watching

Cheers
