Antal, very good job so far. I'm following...

Maybe I've lost some passages: is it a net on the front fenders ?

Thanks
Giovanni

Hi, Giovanni.

Thanks. There is no net, it is only the pattern of PE plate.

Interesting. There's more contrast than I expected.

It's looking a very convincing colour now.

I planned that I build Tiger 111 based on this pic from Squadron Signal 2047.

Hi, I want to update you on Tiger research, in case you're not reading TIIF.DE.

The tank in that photo is Tiger 112, and it's heading for the first African battle to involve Tigers, at Tebourba on 1 December 1942.

Meanwhile, I now think that Tiger 111 survived the Sidi N'sir battle, and was destroyed in the less-well-documented battles of March 1943. Which implies that it was renumbered as 7-something.

Hi David!
Thanks for the info. According to these, it is the only relatively usable photo of '111'?
Meanwhile the Tiger received its tracks. That sand color is not yet perfect.

Oh, this is good work. I've been staring at photos of these 501 Tigers for a long time, it's unsettling to see what looks like a real one in colour.

Yes, that's the only good photo of "111", which means it might have had a painted-on name like many Tigers of the battalion, or some other unusual feature that we will see some day.

Thanks, David!
I think that simply the turret numbers will be on this Tiger.
Meanwhile I have placed some tools and towing cables on hull.

Once again, this looks great.
The Tigers with tow cable ends at the rear, matching your model, were;
141, 142, 132, 112, 122, 111.

plus the unlucky 231 which doesn't match your model.

Antal!

This build is fantastic and I have enjoyed reading every little piece of it.

Please keep the progress and photos coming.

A DAK initial production Tiger is on my "to do" list.

Love your work!

David, according to the original plan I build the 111.

A little progress...decals are completed. Balkenkreuz on the left side needs some paint correction at the cutout.

Regards and Merry Christmas to all modelers!

Hi!
Some pictures of almost finished Tiger. A little correction is needed here and there, and I want to do a camouflage net on the gun barrel.

I have painted some ammo boxes. Those Pak43 crates I will use for my future King Tiger projekt.

Some recent pictures of Tiger after the first layer of AK enamel wash. The camouflage net made of gauze.

Additional effects on Tiger: fading and chipping (502Abteilung oil paints), sand and grime (WAR pigments).

Antal the paintwork looks good.

I'd remove the gauze on the barrel if it was my project though.
