VERRRRY IMPRESSIVE, Antal!!! Your work with the various "Afrika Sand" colors reminds me of my efforts with good ol' WWII US Olive Drabs... Sorry- I know you guys are into the German stuff, but I'm a US/Allied fan. I DID go to those kind of trials with my "Initial" Afrika Korps Tiger quite a few years ago. I'm anxious to see how this one will tuyrn out for you... GREAT WORK!!!

Antal the paintwork looks good.

I'd remove the gauze on the barrel if it was my project though.

Thanks, Paul!
Otherwise, what is the problem with the camouflage net? It is not yet finished, I want to give it some dirt.

Here is a possible version of diorama. In the rear corners are two unassembled telegraph poles from RBModel.
I'm not even sure that the soldier's grave remains on the diorama.

Hi all!
After long time some progress with diorama. Its base is polyurethane foam which I covered with a mixture of wallpaper glue and wall tile glue. The first layer of paint is Testors/MM enamel "Sand flat". This is not yet the final color.

Beautiful Afrika Tiger Antal....The camels look great too. I can't wait to see the finished diorama. The figures look fantastic. The old man looks so lifelike....even unpainted. I will be following this thread. BRAVO!

I finished the fuel drum and cacti and continued the groundwork. I used oil paint wash and pigments.

Here is the modified crew. The commander got a new head. The wounded soldier is from Tristar 009 "German Tropical Panzer Crew" figure set.

Thanks

Hi Andy!
I painted the Tiger with next acrylic paints:
Vallejo RAL8000 German Green Brown, Transform Colors RAL7008 and MIG RAL8020.
I was on pause too, but today I have started to paint and shadow the uniforms, oversprayed the base and I made a tunisian road sign.

I just begun reading your entire built and it took me a good 2 hrs from start to finish and reading all the helpful hints and advice the people on this wonderful forum has showed you (and me).

Just one word to describe all of this. Wunderbar!

Just looking at this, makes me feel like I want to get back into this hobby. I don't know why I stopped 10 years back. I shouldn't have in retrospect. I could be half as good as you

Let's start to paint the faces.
The first layer is burnt siena oil paint, then I drybrushed the faces with a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Sunny skin tone and Salmon rose.

Hi Antal... Until now, at this stage.. I think you're a little bit crazy and when such diorama finished, I wonder that you're completely crazy!!!

The diorama is so great... Awesome, man! Why? Because, IMO and even I have no experience in performing desert theme before, several dioramas that represents desert were too plain in their final result, but you can represent that very well by balanced composition of cactus, desert stones, camels, and additional battle accessories like the fuel-drum. Can't wait until finished and requesting permission to learn from your work, man!!

Warm regards from Indonesia

Hi Garry!
Thanks for kind words.
Otherwise, even so I left a lot of things from diorama: telegraph poles, the soldier's grave, a palm tree etc. I think the base would be crowded with these additional accessories.

Wouldn't they use one from the Tiger itself?

The beduin's painting is finished. I used the next Vallejo acrylics: medium fleshtone, basic skintone, khaki brown, rose brown to lips and a black grey-white mix to his beard.

In second step I painted the faces with Vallejo dark flesh.
