I believe I myself may have assumed that position at least once or twice too, though gladly only in training. For what it's worth you may consider having the guy doing the supporting in a bit more of a hunched position. That might give the impression he is actually helping the climber guy more. It almost looks like climber guy would slip off him otherwise.
My two cents worth for the day.

There you go! Awesome conversion. I think maybe the guy lending a hand could maybe be adjusted a bit to better show what he's doing, but knowing you I think that'll resolve itself.
I really like where this one's going

Thats a very ambitious conversion Jerry- a particularly dynamic pose. I think the current position of the guy going in the window is great- having him looking down at his buddy is a nice touch- shows they are communicating well. The guy on the ground I think needs some of what Dave was saying- a bit more of a hunched position- maybe with his knees a little more bent outward and his back braced against the wall more. Hope your eyes are okay though mate.

Dave,Conor and Karl,
Since you all three are seeing the same thing,it must need to be addressed!
To be fair, the helping guy is just in early mock-up stage. The green stuff is modeling clay. He will have more bend to his legs. I will get him leaning into the wall more. He can't be hunched forward because that would hinder his buddy climbing up over him.
I am also thinking the climbing guys' head should be looking more under his left arm as that looks more logical. Try putting yourself in the pose and you will see what I mean.
Anyway, not too bad from a crippled old fart.

I was actually wondering what material that green stuff was hahaha. The guy going into the gap looks great, but if you see something that needs fixing, it must. What's the white material on that figure? I've seen you use it a few times before and it seems to do the trick. Are you bringing any dioramas to AMPS if you go?

Hi Jerry,
sorry about your eye problems! Annoying surely!
The idea with the 2 guys entering is great IMHO!!
Typical Jerry I'd say!! Story telling of the clever type!
Wish you a prompt recovery m8!! Meanwhile there is enough work on these 2 fellows that doesn't require too fine an eyesight!
Thanks for keeping us in the loop!!
Get well soon!!
Cheers

@Conor-That was the first time I ever used the model clay in such large amounts. I wanted to get an idea of how high to make the foot on the climbing guy so I put the clay on to expidite the matter. The white stuff is small sections of styrene that I stuff into gaps created when I move body parts around. I glue as I go so there is a better start point for when I get to adding the filler putty. If you take your time you don't even need to use filler putty. Just sand the styrene and you are done.
I plan on taking some stuff to amps but don't know if I will enter. I hate entering contests as I always seem to have different priorities than the judges. But the amps system of judging is probably the best as far as those things go.
@Romain-thanks for checking in bubba. Yes,there is a lot of bulk work to still do on these guys and that shouldn't stress me too much.
Painting....not so much. Better wait.
I was just thinking as I was making these guys. You hardly ever see in a dio,two people or more actually touching each other. This should go into the learning history from models list on the tank forum.

Thanks for the kind words of support Kurt!!
For all of you "supporting guy" haters here is an update. Not really much done to change the pose. I just continued to refine my rough mock up. The basic thing is there now and on to the details. Yes,there will be only one ammo pouch. This was more common than you may think with arty and engineer guys.
"Hater" may be too harsh of a word but all the kids seem to like using it in this context so....

Hey look at you Jerry slanged out and dissin the haters:-)
I don't like when haters pile on and get all up in my koolaide either really....hahaha. Actually I don't mind. He's your guy to do with what you want, and sorry if I started something with my initial comment as I hate to stir the pot so to speak. I don't usually comment on specifics when I stalk you guys here, I'm way more interested in how you and others accomplish what I want to achieve then whether something is historically accurate or physically feasible. I remember seeing a soldier modelled here not long ago, who was basically gesturing for his comrades to stop icing forward. The way his hand was and the angle his arm was made it impossible for his hand to be flexed the way it was, but it got the point across so it worked I think. I've never been too concerned with the "accuracy" as much as the story conveyed and the thrill of doing something others aren't. The hobby is fun for me not a job, know what I mean?
Anyway I will let you get back at it. Your conversions are always so good, your stories always come through without much effort in the viewers part.
Later homey!

No worries here buddy. I am glad for the comments as aside from the infrequent very odd comment I get good feedback.
I was always puzzled by the slang use of haters though. I get a kick out of people like the Kardashians who are always responding to people that disagree with something they are saying or doing by calling them "haters".
No...we don't hate you,we just don't agree with you. But you have to sort of admire the use of the word in that sense as it puts everyone on the defense, thereby deflecting thought away from the stupid stuff that caused the original comment to be made in the first place.
But......I digress. Too much coffee, yet again.

I'm more of the opinion you can never have too much coffee. Or bacon. Especially bacon. My Dr. may disagree, but I don't see her that often.
I agree with you on the slang issue though. Some of it is absolutely genius in its ability to convey the sarcastic nature of its intent, but some of it is just plain dumb.
I'm a modeller, not a hater.

He does look better. I didn't even notice his owl-like neck the first time. But the new twecks do make him look much more natural.
For someone with eye issues you're doinging your normal, bang-up job with the figures and putty, Jerry.

Jerry I think you deserve credit for being probably the first person to use the term "haters" on this site. I do like what you've done with him though, they both look good an complement each other perfectly. I hadn't even noticed the "owl" look to the climbing figure until it was pointed out.
In regards to eyes and what not, I'm only 19 and I'm using my dad's glasses here and there when I'm painting. Too many tiny details. Do hope yours get better quick though. As Kurt said, these are all great stories as much as they are builds.

Apologies for piling in with the supporting guy haters ! The way you have finessed out the shape of his body now though is great, it looks natural- as does the guy looking under his arm as you mentioned earlier.

Romain,Chris Conor and Karl,
Hey guys,I hope you all realize I was just pullin your leg with the hater thing. No malice intended for sure.
Sometimes (in fact, most times) when I finish something a bit different for me to make,I get over excited and can't wait to show "the guys" on this site. And usually,I can see what I have in mind for the end result but I post the stuff way too early and you guys probably wonder after looking at it...what the...?
Infantile,I know, but after all... I AM living my second childhood through this stuff.
So ya'll are gonna hafta live with..hey look!..look at this! Hey!! Heheheh
Really though,thanks for looking,
J

After re-reading the "Duel in the Mist" book section that covers this action I decided I needed more grenades! What self respecting pioneer/stosstrupp would not have a bag'o grenades?
I was going to try to make the bag out of putty but after trying the easier quicker method of lead foil decided it would do.
If you look at the previous pics you can also see I made the bayonet holder make more sense as it was kind of out in the air a bit before.

Das ist wunderbar ja!
Ah the qualities of leaf foil. Not the least of which it often comes wrapped around the top of a bottle of Merlot or Sauvignon Rouge.

I'm really liking how these guys are shaping up. This is a very candid and believable little scene - totally convincing.
As always, I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Happy modeling!

I have troubles making two guys in a simple conversation, wearing civilian clothes look right! and you're doing this with a guy lifting his buddy through a hole in the wall!!!! Come on!?!??!!

Good stuff, the more grenades the better. I'm hoping to pick up Duel in the Mist at some point, since it seems like a must-have.
And no worries, no malice at all, I just thought it was funny that you used "hateRs" not because it was inappropriate, I thought it was funny, but because I never would have expected to see that term on Armorama. I mostly see it used in regards to this or that new rap music person or B-list celebrity. Besides I don't think there's a single person on here who could say they hated this stuff with a straight face.
This makes me want to break out the putty and xacto blade, but I'm already neck deep in a little project for AMPS Gonna have to keep an eye out for you and Mr. Roof there.

Same as Conor said Jerry, no worries mate!
Gotta say that grenade bag is a nice one- nice and thin and looks the part. I like the way you can see the outlines of the grenades in the bag too.
