Jason,
I just tried to zoom in on the text in your correction photo, but unfortunately it's unreadable. Any chance of enlarging the text and reposting?
Thanks,
Olaf

I can try that tonight. I didn't realize it until after it posted. I can zoom in on it only when I click on the link to my photobucket account and do it there.

I just received my M 103 and immediately opened it to compare it with the points Jason's presented during his build. I found the lower hull mates nicely with the upper hull, no fender warping, and corrections to the main instruction sheet. I got mine through Dragon the total cost was about $75 to include FedEx delivery. The first thing I checked was the track. I am in the process of building the T-28. This model requires you to place the center guides on each track. Four night later, I have one more to do. Tedious water torture whereas the M 103 has complete track provided. I am watching this build as apparently many others to see how the final product looks. Jason great work and timely postings
Thanks
DJ

Looks like Dragon forgot to research the M103, before releasing the "X79".

The missing weld around the gunner periscope is either an omission or the designers were confused with the M103 which had no weld. From what I can tell, that whole area was cut out and replaced when the periscope was moved forward.
Adding the welds means more modeling fun for your money!

I remember a picture somewhere online where the weld seam there wasn't visible. The person who posted it said it wasn't visible because it was probably just well sanded and covered with paint. Maybe that's what they based it on?

My M103 also arrived today, from HLJ. A quick eyeball inspection shows no obvious warping, track flash, or short shots. I hope those were only isolated problems. Despite the discrepancies discussed here, I am very happy just to have an M103a1. Thank you all, by the way, for such in depth analysis of the kit. That is what makes Armoram such a valuable site.
My next project may be a parts swap between the Dragon M48a3 and another M103a1 to build an M48A1 and an M103a2 (Cookie Sewell says you can).

Glad to hear that. And post pics of the swap...I would love to see it!

How nice...apparently Dragon messed up my address. Tracking says it cannot be delivered as addressed and will be return. 20 minutes on hold with PO so far....and then they cut me off.

Got it, but it was the post office who messed up. Apparently "West, Jason" isn't the same as "Jason West" and it blew their minds. Everything else was normal on the address.
Dragon sent me BOTH fenders, so if anyone out there has issues with their LEFT fender, I have your back

Nice build going so far, I guess?... It sucks that Dragon messed this one up, at least with the first run. I just saw the kit in my semi-local (local as in at least 11 miles away from me) and the box is HUGE...

Wow....that's worse than mine. And naturally it is the same side, so I can't even send you my extra fender! This is the email I used: [email protected] They wanted a receipt of purchase and a picture of the problem. The good news is it took only about a week. The bad news is it took a week.

Ok, that last pic did it for me. I won't be ordering one of these. How the hell did Dragons QC inspection miss that? Such a shame, it could have been a stand out model.

Wow Dragon quality control must have been asleep when the 103 kits went through. I'm wondering how widespread the QC issues are?

grooves? What do you mean? Is it a molding issue or just something designed wrong on the fender?

That is absolutely the worst I have seen. This kit is a real mess. I would say to others out there do not order this kit until these problems get fixed, if they get fixed. Very disappointed I do not even know if I will start mine, I will wait I guess until all the after market stuff comes out to correct all these errors. Sucks because of the extra expense. Really not looking forward to next black label kit MBT -70 or the M6 heavy tank.
