I'll be checkin this out if you don't mind. Very interesting project.
Why can't you use some of the other parts and just build onto them?

I´m going to begin to paint the tank.
I used hair spray to give some wear effect. First I gave a prime, when it was dry I painted with red brown. After it was dry I applyed the hair spray,

Then I had painted it with the desrt yellow (It must be acrylic) and with a brush with water I gace the effect. Here you can see how it gets,

My Cent is almost done. Just need to add the pioneer tools and I think it will be finished. Constructive criticism welcome - so that I can correct/tweak it before uploading photos to the gallery.
This is my first IDF AFV and it certainly won't be the last.
Cheers

Hmmmm.........no boats. I've seen a aircraft and armor but nothing yet for the water. Israel
does have a navy.
I have an ICM Spitfire I want to do for this but after just reading up on the Israeli Navy's Dolphin Submarine, I think I can pull one off.
I've found the Dolphin-2 is like an improved version of the U-214 class. I just purchased a Revell U-214 and will try to convert it to a Dolphin-2. The Dolphin-2 is about 9 meters longer than the 214, uses the same type of conning tower but has less decking between it and the bow and more between it and the stern. Also the tail planes are in an 'X' configuration like a U-212 type as opposed the the '+' type for the 214.

Hi guys,
I see this is a great campaign, with many great builds.
I've proudly enlinsted few weeks ago, but didn't started yet.
I'm not expert about IDF: I like to built an US M48A3 Patton, but I would like to understand which modification I've to do to match with IDF M48...
Maybe you experts can give some suggestions...
Thanks
Giovanni

The re-released Revell M48 kit (often labled 'Love Bug') makes a good basic first generation 'Magach' (the IDF name for the M48). It can represent a 6-Day war variant.
Patton Mania is a good place to start with some basic info on IDF M48s. They have kit reviews for making Magachs.
Also, here is a link to the
MaGach reference page for the IDF Armour Group.

M3D basic paint done: Tamiya Deck Tan (XF-55) with Tamiya German Grey (XF-63) tires, tracks, jerry cans, and Tamiya Khaki Drab (XF-51) mortar round cases. The markings are from the Flames of War Israeli decals set (AIS941).

With a wash of Grumbacher Raw Umber artist’s oil, the M3D mortar carrier is close to finished.
The effect seems a little heavy in the close up picture of the 2½ inch long model, but it looks more convincing from normal viewing distances. The mounted mortar seems a little out of scale too, but once I paint up the crew and get them aboard things should look a little better.
