Russell,

You should be able to go to that page and see an "enlist" button on the right side of the page on top of a list of who's already joined. Are you signed in to Armorama? Check the very top right of the page. If you're not signed in, the enlist button won't show up.

HTH!

Thanks, Michael. I had to log in again after going to the link.
Signed up, just need to see what tickles my fancy around October 1, but I've got plenty in the stash.

Good morning John. Yes it is a Magach 6. It is the old Esci kit reboxed. It is not up to modern standards in terms of details, but still descent and reasonably priced, (at least here).

In order to fit this into a GB on "another" forum, I'm going to do a Sherman, what the Israelis actually called the "Super" Sherman.... it'll be an M1A1E8/76, using the Tamiya M51 for most of the hull and suspension, and the turret from either an Academy M4A2/76, or a Dragon M4A3/76, not sure yet, depends on which is the closer fit to the Tamiya upper hull. I also have a few of the old Italeri M4A1/76's in the stash to get the hull rear and engine cover from.
Time period will be the Six Days War, and if I can find it and it's the right context, I'll work from a pic of one parked on a basketball half-court, under the goal.
Start time should work nicely too, pretty sure. I didn't realize how much IDF stuff is in my stash, but I shouldn't really be surprised either.

Hmmm many choices in the stash for this one but at the moment I think I will be going with The Tamiya Merkava.

Definitely not he newest kit out there but I'm pretty sure I've got some tracks and other bits and pieces lying around for it.

The Tamiya Merk has lots of potential, builds nicely. I just finished one myself, enjoyed it immensely.

I've been digging through the stash again for this build and I'm going to make a change from the Merkava.

I have found that i have a Tamiya Tiran 5 that I have collected loads of goodies for, so that will be my build instead.

I have had the Meng Merkava III with some Voyager extras sitting on the shelf for a while. Guess they can wait till the 1st to find a way on to my bench.

Hello everybody!

I was in two minds. Italeri M60 Blazer? Or the AFV club S'hot Centution? I decided on the latter, plus a couple of after market extras.

Cheers

Wow I nearly forgot this started this month!

Looks like it'll be a fun little build!! Comes with a bunch of extra bits, jerry cans etc. I may add more stowage once I've seen what it looks like.

My start pic:

And this came out of hiding too, something I used the turret out of sometime in the past....

And one pic, all I got this morning:

The above is the M51 lower hull with the Tamiya M4 back plate in, idler mounts from the M51 plate transferred over and M51 hull laid on top to ck fit. I've started clearancing the M4 engine cover pieces to fit the M51 upper hull, but need to check my Son of Sherman book to determine the exact configuration. The black area on the rear of the upper hull is what will need to be removed, determined by placing an old Italeri M4A1 upper hull back to back with the M51 upper and tracing with a sharpie.
I'm really going to try an not re-invent the wheel on this build, and I shouldn't have to.

Early mornings are working for me......
Here's a proper pic of the rear, with the one of the upper plates marked for cutting, still checking refs here....

One of the nice things about this build is that I'll have a lot of M51-specific parts left over....
And with the engine deck in, rear-most plate blended in as appropriate to a cast hull, and rear plate cut and cleaned up:

This has been very simple so far, but would have been ever easier if I had been able to snag the Tamiya M1 Sherman kit. Well, next time!

Me again.
Running gear done (mostly), rear hull parts added, upper and lower hull joined, bits here and there, and the Academy turret started.
A word here:, the Academy turret appears to have a good basic shape, wildly irregular texture, and fits the Tamiya hull after shimming the base ring with .020" stock. Gun tube is Dragon, fits after boring the inside of the Academy mantlet's hole.

It's a Sherman.
