Jaster: Ok, I forgot that the Abrams was built at Lima, Ohio. For some reason, I thought of 'Chrysler' and 'Detroit' when I asked the query on where the Abrams was built hehehe
Tanks were built in Warren Michigan for a long time, it is still where TACOM is located.
Storyline as you have layed it out is amazing...my bits and peices fit into the continuing CONUS strife...
I am willing (not sure the able part
to help with story coordination, etc.

Sure! :-) BTW, your storyline which you submitted last year, parts of it I used for the Introduction of the TW2K:03 storyline. :-)
Want the same document that I sent to Greatbrit, i.e. the latest draft of the TW2k:03 storyline as well as that of the TW2k:04?
For that matter, does anyone here want to see it? :-) I can email them to you guys.

just ordered the things i need for the centurion from accurate armour,
ive got the main shape of the turret armour done, and will start detailing the hull soon
i gave it the 120mm main gun from a tamiya cheiftan, the armour is sheet styrene. im using some bolt things from an afv club M10, the ones supposed to be for the hull sides.
im gonna scratch the turret baskets from brass mesh, fit an AA urdan cupola, and try my hand at the merkava style ball and chain turret hanging things
ill try to post some pics if i can borrow a digital camera from somewhere
cheers

Guys, I still have the game modules and Referee's Manuals at home - alas, there is no electronic or Internet site I can refer you to for obtaining the historical settings as played in the actual game. I guess this would be a monumental task to setup, and might be prohibited by the copyright holders - else it would have been done already...
Not to stifle creativity, I'll only chime in to answer questions about what happened in the original play world to help guide efforts here. Grizzy Bear's efforts are great - and we should run with them!

For what it is worth below is a link to descriptions of the seperate T2K modules with cover pictures. I had most of them at one time (a long time ago) but I am not sure what I have left. I'll check tonight. I think I have the "Urban Guerrila" deal so if anyone needs info on Southern Florida I should be able to help out. I know I "Airlords of the Ozarks" too.
I can't cbelieve how much time I spent playing that game....

Hi guys...back for a moment.
The books are on sale again at gaming stores. I cannot remember the new publisher right now though...check it out anyhow. And E-bay has stuff on it as well for you to buy from other's who have "given up the war.".
Hey gennady, nice timeline...I think you need to lay off the coffee, weaving all those storylines together...
...and what have I been doing with my time...nothing good I assure you!

I really like the 'Red Star / Lone Star' Campaign. Because, from the looks of it, it encompasses Air, Land and Sea engagements because of the offshore Oil Platform.
Whaaaaahooooo!
Only bad thing about it is I've got to make some re-writes. #:-)

Following some of the Forums dedicated to T2K - there's been a ground-swell of support growing to bring back the game system, but updated. The best sounding proposal creates a Twilight: 2010 version - but reconciling it with the original game system universe and the other games that spun off from it (Merc: 2000 and the Traveler: 2300 systems) is still being debated...

Is it too late to get in on this? I've been meaning to put together a North Korean/U.S. diorama for some time, though it won't be noted for highly imaginative compared to some of the projects that I've read.
Does the story need to be done before construction? when's end date?
GIB- is the whole Second Korean War plot line the same as you had posted in December?
Also, if any any help is needed with editing or anything, I'd be glad to help out...I've got 2 months of paid leave on my hands and no vacation plans.

Howdy fellas,
to matt: Don't let your wallet go
Postal, that's for your wife to do!
Since this thing is going to go for another YEAR.....I think the first ' way out there' entry I'll throw into the mix is my 'Yeti' project. With that much time to work out the 'kinks', I think it's got legs!!

To tell the truth, the only 'in-progress' pics I could generate would be a very simplistic mock-up I have of the ' Yeti's' Mattrack system undercarraige. It wouldn't be very inspiring......yet.
And since I haven't even started my Russian Ekranoplan (yes, I'm building something for the 'RED' side of the campaign (++) ), I can't very well show you that.
And, I haven't begun to even think about starting my Chinese missle sub either...........I'm just a 'slacker'

Hey animal...how's that 'hardened' LAV coming?
Ya know, that makes me think. There was this really nice NBC type vehicle in the Japanese 'ARMOUR Modeling' magazine manufactured by a company called Pit Road (never heard of them), that looks like a 'Fuchs' on steriods.......that would make a nice vehicle.

No, it is not too late. In fact, it just started. And don't mind being 'unimaginative' because OOB works here as well.

Does the story need to be done before construction?
No, definitely not. The story is secondary. The build is first. The story's aim is just to help one finish his project.

Yes, but since then I've added an ending and some middle parts as well. The one posted waaaaaaaaaaay back in December was the introduction. The working draft now has an ending to the Second Korean War (but not the aftermath chaos like China's invasion of it, or the butchery happening prior to that and after the nuke-chem exchange). The working draft also has the Middle East story, it's beginnings and it's NBC end.

Cool! Give me your email address and I'll send you the TW2K:04 story frames. I need help on geography, history, etc.

hope fully i should have some in-progress shots of my IDF super centurion for you soon
heres my story to go with it
'in response to the threat of saudi M1 abrams, several retired centurions we brought out of storage,
gas turbine engines secretly shipped from the us before the war were retrofitted, 120mm guns from damaged jordanian cheiftans and experimental israeli designed fire control equipment replaced the original 105mm guns.
large modifications to the turret were necessary, the front of the turret was extended to take the larger gun, and huge thick slabs of passive chobham armour,(which mossad had stolen plans for years before)were fitted, behind these plates, concrete was poured, to create almost intpenatrable turret armour. large recoil cylinders had to be fitted to the turret roof, to counteract the increased recoil forces of the larger gun.
the hull front also recieved thick chobham plates, and several internal components were replaced with more modern parts.
the commanders cupola was replaced with the urdan model, to give better protection, and several machine guns were added to the turret roof, for close protection.
after the rapidly competed modifications to the tanks, they were moved to the front lines.
the huge increase in weight brought the gas turbines performance down considerably, and they were only capable of average speeds, but the armour protection given meant not one was destroyed in the first engagements.
shells from enemy tanks, even abrams failed to penetrate, and the 120mm gun was able to deal with anything one the battlefield. the first tanks, meant as trial vehicles only had proved their effectiveness, and were ordered into production to replace the merkavas and magachs lost in previous battles.'
what do you think?
cheers
