The beast is really coming together, some fine details and weathering left. Almost done though.

Happy new year! Change of plans for me: Just enlisted in the Trumpeter II campaign so going to save my Type 96 for that campaign and go hunting for something along the lines of a SdKfz 232. Have wanted to do one of those for a long time.

Progress on the Boxer. I free handed the camo, not super accurate at this scale but I wanted give it a go. I don't think it's too too soft.

I think I'll call it done.
This is my second afv, I'm still working on thus kinds of heavy weathering.
Two questions:
1. Does anyone know the purpose of the red and yellow pattern over the driver?
2. Where does armorama keep the campaign galleries?

It's been a while but here's an update on my HobbyBoss EBR-10.
I started wrapping up the upper hull. Mostly it is just adding the little details and a few odd bits of PE.
Time to start of the turret.
Most of the turret parts.
Basic assembly. The turret goes together pretty nice.
Assembly done. I thought I had more pictures of the assembly but they weren't on the camera or on my computer.
Out of paint.
I began finishing paint on the wheels. Since it is vinyl, I used acrylics. I used layers of light earth and olive green. I used a splotchy blush technique on the wheels. For the rubber, I went back over with dark gray to tone down the colors and blend them. For the steel wheels I blotch painted them and went back over with green. The steel ribbing was dry-brushed with light earth and then picked out with gray.
More dry-brushing and painting on the vehicle.
Decals on. Pioneer tools added. Detail painting done. Stretch sprue antennae added.
And with that I'm calling this one done.
This is a vehicle I've wanted since I saw a build of a resin kit of it back in the 90s.

Nice build, Alex. It looks great.
Richard, nice and quick build on the boxer. Good job on the camouflage in that scale.
Tat, nice camouflage. Looking forward to see more.
I hope to be able to build a BTR-70 for this campaign, but I have a few other kits to finish for other campaigns.

Looks great, John. I like the unusual markings and camouflage. What is the unit? Some kind of Russian interior police or militia?
Are you going with a clean build or are you going the weather it?
Tat, I know what you mean. I have cut back a lot on the number of campaigns I participate in. Real life leaves little time for modeling, yet there are more fantastic kits out there than ever before.
