Hello,
Pics from last night's work:
It's my first Sdkfz 234 -- didn't realize the suspension's assembly is one complicated affair!
Cheers,
Tat

Indeed it is Sal -- the arrows can make one crazy! Looking forward to your 234/4. I think I signed up with that one for the first 8x8 campaign, but never got anywhere to starting it.
Today I finished the suspension and interior work. Just went for the closed ports -- the suspension was enough complication for me. Happy to note that it stands level on the surface.
Cheers,
Tat

Hi Everybody
Decided to jump into this campaign with a Trumpeter Canadian LAV III. I will being doing it out of the box for this build. I looks to have enough extras to keep me busy.
I got things started with the suspension almost completed. I've done the Trumpeter Canadian Cougar and Grizzly kits but the suspension on this kit went together with no issues
Hope to have it completed by the new year

I'll be doing the Revell Boxer for this but given the number of projects I currently have on the go will be a late starter.

Wow guys!
Nice subjects, great buildings so far.
So, let me start my weird thing:
Some ejection marks to sand of:
Some holes to make:
And lets beggin the build:
This turret will receive some adds to looks better.
Wheels:
They are pieces of crap, but I'll use.
Lower hull and suspetion:
I wanted to show the central wheels touching the grund.
Starting to add some bits to upper hull rear (rear?)
And front (front?)
And now, go to the turret...
The hull is done. Now is time to complete the turret. New update ASAP.
Hope you like!
Cheers!

Hello,
With the thought of just waiting for good weather to start painting, I went off to do other projects. Come last night when I checked my build versus other 234 builds online, I noticed something was off. Lo and behold, I had one of the engine vents installed the facing the wrong way!
The problem was that I've already married the upper and lower hulls and opening it up was not something to look forward to. I thought of just leaving it as it is but something in me was nagging to correct it. So with a bit hesitation I cut off the panels. Good thing that there is an optional part that depicts closed vents. Had to mark it to make sure it faces the right direction this time!
Hopefully, the weather continuous to improve in the next couple of days so I can start on the primer work.
Cheers,
Tat

Tat Nice fix,I had noticed the vent directions but was loath to mention it because you already had the hull glued together. I had to correct the same mistake when I built my last 234 but it was easier as I had not glued the hulls together yet.
Just finished painting the interior on my 234 w/Luchs turret and glued the hulls together and placed the turret on to show how it will look.

Thanks Cam. It was good that there was an optional part to use. The weather seems to holding up so I may have the chance to shoot some primer today. Your 234 is quite unique with that turret -- was that a one-off / field thing? Cheers, Tat

Tat I have 2 pictures of this vehicle at the end of the war around Pisek. The speculation is that it was put together by elements of the 17th PD out of a pair of damaged vehicles.

Just curious if the Soviet Scud Launcher qualifies? It has 8 wheels.

I've joined the campaign with another 234/4, had a small start today while the paint on another project was drying.

Wow Kevin, lots of pieces in a fantastic 8 wheeled and, I'm sure, a fantastic build!
Now, a little update (sorry about the poor pics. I tooke the pics using my phone (that is a phone, not a camera)
So, I finished the turret. I added some tape and plastic just to make the dust cover a little better.
I still don't know if I'll use the cammo net.
After it, I applied some automotive grey primer:
I want to start the paint tonight.
Hope you like!
Cheers!

So ive just seen this campaign and listed though im stuck for choice either 1/72 faun slt50 by revell think that counts as 8 wheels aswell as 8 on trailer haha or maybe 1/72 oshkosh mett tank transpoter both have 8 wheels on just the tractor unit them selves trailers are 8 & more
