Your Boxer looks fantastic. How is the fit quality of the kit itself?

Well as promised some photos of the build so far I've started the third one but not taken any photos yet should have construction finished on all four by the end of next week ready for painting and the bases are constructed but that's as far as I've got.

I have modified all of the suspension to suit the base witch was quite easy or easier than I thought it would be just need to modify the last tow and I'm altering the running gear as the front and rear Stryker in the colum are mid corner and I'm still trying to work that out in my head

Pickle head the 234 is looking great as is the scud launcher, garath love the accurate armour kits but the instructions are awful

All the builds are looking great it's shaping up to be a good campaign

I'm calling my LAV done. It been a fun build for the most part, got to try some new things, some good, some not so good, but a learning experience.



I used kneadatite to make tarps over the storage bins to hide my booboos with the photo etch

ok so my pic disapeared from my last post because i accidentaly deleted it out of my kitmaker gallery so here goes again
chasis has a light base coat and wheels are assembled,
so ive got legends stowage set to add with two items stuck with blu tac and also et models photo etch

question what is the best and easiest way to prepare photo etch for painting?

I like to give the entire fret a light sanding with some fine sandpaper to rough up the surface so paint adheres better. Have to be very careful; use a new, flat sheet of sandpaper larger than the fret to minimize the risk of snagging or bending any parts. Don't forget to give it a good cleaning also. If I plan to use polyester-acrylic primer on the completed model I will typically spray the entire fret with automotive primer since that is made specifically to adhere to bare metal.

very helpful but another question what about the really small minute pieces like chains 1/72 scale.. cant really sand them they break or would you sugest just lightly wipe over with sandpaper in the direction of chain & not against it?

Exactly that. One technique that works well for me is to tape the sandpaper down on a hard, perfectly flat and smooth surface. Lay the fret on the sandpaper and then with VERY light pressure slide it around on the sandpaper. I have a small block of MDF with one face covered with 1/8" self-adhesive foam cushion--I just set the PE down, put the block on top and the foam creates enough friction that I can slide the fret around on the sandpaper without risk of accidentally pressing too hard in one spot and warping the fret. You can use your fingers instead of a block; just make sure to change the spot in which you are contacting the PE occasionally so you even out the abrasion. Either way, the main thing is to make sure there are no bumps, wrinkles or other irregularities in the sandpaper that might snag delicate pieces.

Another option of which I have heard, but have never tried, is to use etching primer and not even bother with sanding. Etching primer eats directly into the metal before it dries so that a very strong bond is formed.

Nice line-up you have there Sal!

I've put on the decals. The finish is still dark and shiny due to the gloss coat. I had some of the jerry cans in dunkelgelb -- but for some reason I just can't get the wash right, so I settled to getting all in the same color.

Dear John and All,

Very late but I decided to join your fantastic campaign. I've recovered from my stash a dusty vintage Sd.Kfz.234/2 PUMA.
It is an Italeri / Testor kit dated 1980 (!).



The box is completely destroyed, but the kit is 100% not started.

Within tomorrow I'll upload the starting pictures, according to the Campaign regulation.
