Hello again,
I had a little more time to get the primer red on the spade. Did the chipping/wear weathering. I will be letting this sit overnight to dry completely. I will be spraying another coat of clear to protect the primer red then on with the yellow!

Now that the spade is drying..its given me a chance to work on my least favourite part of building......resin individual link tracks.....lol.
As I mentioned in an earlier post I picked up the MasterClub resin tracks(part #135002W). These tracks are beautiful! Very little clean up. But you do need to drill out the holes for the pins. When assembled they are workable. Also of note...no glue required!
While assembling make sure you install the same pins in the same side of the track!
One side of the track has a "domed" pin and the other is a bolt style pin....
Anyhow enough chatting...here are some pictures....

I just heard about those MasterClub tracks recently and have been considering them as replacements for the DS tracks in some of my Dragon kits. They seem to be a better deal than the Fruiltracks, although I hope they expand the line to other vehicles.
My understanding is that you must be careful not to put the pins in the wrong holes or they are hell to get back out once they lock in place.

I agree about how cool the track hang looks on a Panther. Plus, you did such a great job painting the hull and weathering it seems to be shame to cover that up?
How about a compromise? Put maybe two schurtzen on only one side of the vehicle? Maybe the last two towards the rear?

Camo, weathering and chipping all look great. Glad you did a camo patten like this, it's perfect. Was wondering what brand and part numbers of colours you used for the yellow, green and brown?

The paints I used were a mix of Vallejo and Mig products.
Vallejo Nato Green 73.612 (FS34094)
Vallejo Dark Yellow 70978
Mig Acrylic Color Nato Brown Mig-085
Then the weathering was a mix of the Mig products....

A couple of thoughts:
Would not the schurtzen carry the camo paint scheme as well?
Also wouldn't the camo pattern continue across the engine deck? To my mind the camouflage was intended to help protect from air attack as well.

Hi Mike,
My thoughts were of a Berg maybe being made out of a Panther that was sent back to the refit/rebuild plant. Having the superstructure added and repainting the top of the hull.
The side skirts could have been thrown on from another tank that wasn't camo'd yet.
With the weathering I have done so far this tank has been in the field for a bit lol.
Thank you for the thoughts about the camo though!!

Nice progress you have there Chris. If the schurzen was from another source then maybe it can be a shade different from the hull -- just my thoughts. Nonetheless, fantastic work you have put on this build! Cheers, Tat

I really like the way tour Berge us turning out! It definitely looks like a heavily used workshop vehicle.

Wow what a great build I am glad that I stumbled upon this one! Umm there is a Verlinden kit for the Opel Blitz that has a very comprehensive tool assortment. It's called "Opel Blitz Workshop Truck" Kit No. 0584.
