Finished up some other campaigns, now more time for this one.
Seeing as how I brought up the conversion of Shermans into Su-85 or Su-100's, I've decided I need to build one.
Starting with a Tamiya Sherman. Got this one free as part of a buy one get one deal.
Lower hull. Got rid of the solid handle on the rear access hatch for some brass rod.
Prepared the upper hull for the gun.
Spare bits from a Dragon Su-85M (contains both 85/100mm guns)
My new front plate.
Suspension done, strips of evergreen to help close off the open sponson.
I've got some more spare soviet bits I want to add. One thing I'm thinking is T-34 style tow hooks?

Chris,
I'm glad to see a large scale figure! I hafta say that the detail on it looks very good!
ComradeMP,
Thank you for submitting your conversion. That's gonna look real interesting!
Dustin,
That's a cool looking camo pattern. You are a brave man attaching the aerial before weathering.
Great stuff everyone!

Nice camo Dustin!
I sure have issues on overspray -- big time. Which AB did you use?
BTW if you need to link pics from the Kitmaker Gallery: click on that icon to the right of "Linked Thumbnail". It'll give you a couple of choices below. Copy the link in the "HTML code" box to your thread, and you get a bigger pic.
Cheers,
Tat

Thank you fellas for the kind comments.
Tat - Thank you for posting that pic and providing that info.
I use an Iwata Neo. Not the bes out there. I also do have overspray issues, so I tried a lot lower air pressure this time and it seemed work a bit better. I still don't understand how people get that perfect spray.

Hey Guys,
First entry on first camp. Here is a work in progress update. This kit has a lot of issues. I bought a new gun from RB models. It is nearly over an inch longer then the one that came with kit. I hope that this is not the normal with Trumpter.

Brian,
Looking good! Impressed that you sewed the tracks and that they still look good.
Kent,
Good to see progress! An inch is quite a difference. Good stuff to know.

One of the sneaky keys is that the joint is also hidden by the front fender! Honestly I wouldnt be upset about putting them on the bottom either though... I used a sewing stitch that a doctor friend of mine showed me, with 12 lb test monofilament fishing line and it is hardly noticable with a little mud placed strategically LOL.....I did this on another kit as well....

There needs to be an Evelyn Wood speed building Campaign for a few of you!

Maybe some of us find that if we get stuck in and finish the project, the number of "shelf queens" can be minimised?

Thank you Armorsmith! Like I said, I was nervous to try it, but it seemed to flow easily once I got going. Plus I used the painting guide that came with the kit, which is very nice.
Here I have the details painted. Now it's time for a clear coat, decals and weathering. I order a set of Friuls for this today.
Oh yeah.. And the three figures... Which I'm very nervous about.
Cheers,
Dustin

Master Box’s Volkssturm Tank Hunter kit boxtop illustration shows the bicycle with two Panzerfausts strapped to the front fork, a Teller mine attached to the frame, and a utility box secured on the stowage rack:
However, the kit instruction sheet indicates four build variants—
1. bicycle with a disassembled MG34 lashed to the frame and an MG ammo box on the rear stowage rack,
2. bicycle with a Teller mine attached to the frame,
3. bicycle with a utility box attached to the frame, or
4. bicycle with a utility box attached to the frame and two Panzerfaust strapped to the front fork
The last option makes more sense than the box painting; if the soldier were out hunting tanks with Panzerfaust rockets, a 20lb. Teller mine on the bike as well might be a bit much! And if he were out placing mines, he would probably not be expecting to encounter tanks...
Anyway, after mounting the brass stowage rack...
...I decided to go with the Panzerfaust/utility box combo as suggested in Master Box’s instructions.
At this point the bike’s all assembled and ready for paint.

As they say, practice makes perfect. But before that I guess I need to get a better brush -- as mine is still the basic Tamiya trigger-type AB

Dustin... your Elefant is beautiful!
And Tim... the PE on that bike makes my head & eyes hurt. You certainly have skills!
I need to finish some more suspension work on mine and I'll slip a photo on here.

Thank you all very much for the compliments. It's very much appreciated.
Tim, your PE work is amazing. I'm working on a Stryker that has a huge VoyagerPE set. I'm not even going to use that set because that much PE is beyond my skills at this point.
Gary, if you do a Tank Hunters II, I'll definitely join.
