Hey everyone, only eleven (11)! Days to go. There were some very interesting builds started that I'm very curious to see.

Hello all,
Grats to all, who had finished so far - and hurry up to all, who had not. This was my first campaign and I liked it a lot - lots of nice builds and comments. And almost the most important: a DEADLINE. That's a motivating factor, to me at least.
So I've just finished the Jagdpanzer IV. The weathering is intentionally light:
- I don't like to hide the details with mud. OK, I know that real tanks were really dirty but these are not real tanks and I like to see the fine details which consumed dozens of hours during the build
- I plan to include this Jpz in a diorama somewhere in the unforeseeable future - so I leave the weathering for that period and for that setting.
The periscope tube is missing because of the potential figures included to the hatches. This way the upper plate is removable. It was a slow (compared to a "shake & glue" Tamiya set) build but amongst my fastest builds ever

That looks great, Martin. The camo really looks nice with the washes and filters you've applied.

Martin-Great job on your Elephant, love that weathering. The rubber band tracks are a pain. I gave up on my elephant when I tried one a few years ago due to the tracks. You might inspire me to finish the one in my pile.

Howdy Y'all
I've completed my Tank Hunters build-Hasegawa's 1/72 Jeep & 37mm AT gun. This is an ancient kit and there are builder jeeps out there now in 1/72 scale-Academy & Airfix. The Airfix looks very detailed and I haven't built it yet.



This hasn't been my best weathering job or photography. I'll try to take some better pics for the campaign gallery. This has been a great campaign.

Fresh from the paint shop. Had to order more paint - this beast used 2.5 Tamiya (small) pots!

I will add the detail painting, MG, tools, etc. this coming week - deadline approaches!

I have decided that my build doesn't have a sexy enough name - heck it doesn't have a name at all! So from now on, I will be using this name exclusively:

FV215(B) Vanquisher

FV215(B) Vanquisher... now that IS a badass name Nick! I look forward to seeing that bad boy completed.

And now for a dispatch from my distinctly non-badass bicycle project...

When I began this Volkssturm Tank Hunter, I visualized a non-military bicycle pressed in desperation into army service painted maybe some bright civilian red or yellow... but as I researched it I found that the bicycle, known as Das Truppenfarrad, or “troops bicycle,” was actually a regular part of the German military establishment.

They were manufactured in their millions (1.2 million in 1943 alone) specifically for military use. Not only that, they were all delivered in a boring satin black! I hoped that maybe some were repainted, but every period photo I could find showed them in dark gray or, more probably, factory black. The only other color appears to have been a white night safety stripe on the rear fender.

Accordingly, I shot the bike with a coat of black enamel.

...which, though accurate, effectively masked all that lovely detail!

So I sprayed over it again, this time with Tamiya German Gray (XF-63) acrylic.

It may now be a little too light, but I’ll go over it with a wash of Raw Umber artists oil, which will settle in the recesses and should darken the whole finish a bit to what might be called a “scale black.” Or so I hope...

You've no idea how long I've been looking forward to seeing more of your work. Great job on that bike. I know that during D-Day there was a Bicycle mounted German Infantry division a couple of days of heavy pedalling south of the invasion front.
