Yes the swastika is in the past but in some countries they don't let the past die. Here in the U.S. I've seen the flags with the swastika being proudly carried by white supremacists during rallies and the confederate flag, which goes back even further in history, is still a rallying cry in the south. Here in the Pac Northwest people proudly fly the number 12 flag which really offends many Bronco and Green Bay fans (I hear about it constantly from family members who live in Wisconsin and Colorado). We have become a world of over sensitivity where people over react to very minor things. The swastika and confederate flag are not minor but a decal on a modelling site was way over blown by an effing moron. If we remove everything that offends everybody than this world is going to be a real boring place. So save your indignation for something that truly deserves it like people who over react to very minor things.

Scarred, please clue me in on why the #12 flag would offend anyone? I haven't heard about that, but then I don't follow sports much.

You have never seen a die hard Bronco fan lose it like many did after Superbowl 48. By brother was at the game and said that by half time a lot of the orange was gone from the stadium. He walked by their seats and collected a lot of souvenirs from the empty abandoned seats. I know what he paid to go to the superbowl and if I had paid that much (more than $10k for 2 days in New York and tickets) I'd have stayed and watched the entire game for the whole superbowl experience. Many Seahawk fans, fans only when the team wins, sport the number 12 flag on there vehicles ranging in size from a 4 or 5 inch one on their antenna to ones almost the size of of their cars. Up here the number 12 seen as often as the stars and bars is down south. Since I live near a military base there are people from all over the country based here and I seen cars with Colorado plates cut off those flying the 12, I've seen drivers lean out their windows and curse and spit at cars with the 12 and I watched one guy in a parking lot bend the crap out of somebodies antenna trying to get the 12 flag off it. Some of it is good natured my team is better than your team type of stuff but some of it was over reaction and got out of hand. Those are the type of folks who would over react to a stupid little isis decal meant for modellers.

When New York teams win a championship (few and far between lately ), we keep it raucous, but civil. Nothing worse than sore winners. You never read about rioting, burning cars or anything similar as is done in other cities that celebrate their team's victories. It's not good to crap where you live.

Thanks for the reply. Out here in AZ the team is the cardinulls. Most of my co-workers learn I am not much of a fan, frankly, win or lose, I don't care. I was getting reamed about it once and said I would pay more attention if they played by the Inca ball court rules. From what I've heard the losers got wacked, and that would mean a real game. Now they leave me alone.

On AFT's site the set is now a blank listing. This is probably the result of one of these righteously indignant [auto-censored]head mother [auto-censored]ers like the guy referenced in the original post directly or indirectly causing trouble for AFT. The miserable cocksucker probably thinks he is doing something positive.

I stayed out of this discussion when I first saw it, for obvious reasons - me being a Muslim, but when I read the post about the guy that the FBI contacted and impounded the money he was making the order with.. maybe the price of the decals could buy ISIS a small gun or something Anyway, this is just too funny.. somebody actually thinks that what is written is the name if ISIS or something In case you guys don't know, what is written on that flag is exactly what is written on the flag of Saudi Arabia - a big US ally, last I looked... Anyway, what is written is "لا إله إلا الله, محمد رسول الله" and all that means is "There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet".. which is what every Muslim around the world says (both Sunni or Shiite) and all it is, is a testimony that we believe in one God, and Mohammad is his prophet... Now, does the fact that some scum took this testimony and used it as a slogan to their murders make the testimony itself and everybody else who believes in it "bad".. that's a discussion I prefer not to get into here
And by the way, the word "Allah" is just the Arabic word for "God".. we have the word "Eelah" which is a God in the sense of what the old Romans or whatever used to believe in.. but "Allah" mean "THE God".. just had to say that because I remember when I was living in the States ages ago, this whole thing with "God" and "Allah" caused way too many misunderstandings... Another thing is that we believe in Moses as a prophet.. and we believe in Jesus as a prophet and in the Virgin Mary as his mother.. and we have whole verses in the Quran about both... Like I said, misunderstandings and misconceptions and the distorted use of religion has lead to way too many deaths around the world..

OK, now the attacks start...

Since when does an US based organisation think they can rule the world outside the USA territory????
It is up to each modeler's free will if he buys or not IS flags, isn't?
There is always somebody who dislikes something. In this case the man that disliked the latest Archer prints. Well, so be it. But don't try to moralize others who think different.
In Europe some Nazi symbols do still create dislike. But only if they are used by people who have certain political goals. In modeling they are just part of representing history. As would be the case with IS flags.... They present recent history. I can realy not imagine that an IS fan starts building models to change the world.
I suggest to stop this foolish discussion, started by an over sensative modeler!

OOOPS ! Easy there mate
Nudity is DANGEROUS, a lot more dangerous than guns, drugs, violence, violent computer games and watching murder & slaughter on TV
One single uncovered tit does more damage to the morals of the society than a hundred movies about rape, pillage and murder.
So there

It looks to me that the "organization" that raised the stink on that other thread was Paypal, not the US government. What I don't get is why the US Treasury Department would send a form from the Office of Foreign Asset Control to a foreign national, or why a foreign national would pay it any attention. If the Russian FSB or German BND sent we a form via email I would treat it about the same as request for a wire transfer from Nigeria.

Let me get this straight: Are you saying you received a communication confirmed to be from the United States Government? What did it say?

Hi, Kurt! Given the current climate in DC, I would think the communication said something like:

"Oh, you NASTY, NASTY, boy!!!"

I'll bet that if anyone from ISIS is reading this thread, they're laughing themselves SICK over all of this nonsense! Five full pages of this $#!+ is ENTIRELY ENOUGH, already!

Hey you crybabies- CAN IT, will ya?

To reiterate Kurt's question, what was in that email? If, indeed, you received something from the government, all of us are interested in its content.

It would be interesting to know why Woody removed the set. Was it pressure from self righteous individuals who probably never bought any AFT products and decided to raise a s**tstorm over this; or, did he get some prompting from the salary stealing, less than useless string pullers near the Potomac with too much free time on their hands?
