Sometimes Ya Just Git Lucky!
The kit tracks are nuthin to write home about on the 7TP kit. I have seen some built and they have only basic detail and are said to be hard to work with. Given that I wondered if the Fruil set made for the Soviet T-26 might fit the 7TP. Both tanks were based on the 1927 Vickers 6 tonne and IF the Poles & the Soviets made no changes to the tracks AND IF both the kit maker & Fruil were faithful to the originals the metal tracks might just fit the model and make it look at lot better.
That is a lot of IFs making the whole proposition a longshot at best. Sometimes ya git lucky:
As you can see, the tracks fit perfectly. They are a light press fit on to the sproket, exactly the way I like to see them.

Yah, I gotta agree with that, just the way you said it . . .

A little more progress to report. The Fruils are done and with a new technique to me, applied Archer rivet decals to spruce up areas that the kit make had left plain but should have had detail. To have done this properly, these decals should have been applied before assembly. There are areas that just can't be reached now. OK, lesson learned for the next build . . .
Here are some pics showing things as they are now:
I haven't been able to figure out how to add the vision slots to the sides of the turret so I will leave them out barring fresh inspiration.
I'm going to be on the road for the next couple of weeks so here it will sit until I get back.

Hello,
Here's what I am working on:
I read there were three of these (named Sudetenland, Saarland, and Ostmark) were deployed to attack the Post Office building at Danzig. It's good that the kit provides markings for at least one of the participants -- Ostmark.
I got carried away with the clean-up that I sanded off the small nubs that should hold the axles in place. So I had to insert pieces of square rods to hopefully get things aligned and level when I put on the wheels.
Test-fit of the wheels -- and so I thought I got it level on the ground.
Well, except for the the rear pair which floats and quite obvious on a flat surface. Nothing major -- I think it can be corrected.
Now working on the upper hull.
Cheers,
Tat

While still watching some very cool builds in this campaign, i haven't actually been building much myself. Mostly due to real world stuff, as it always seems to be
Instead of rushing several builds to finish on time i'll focus on a few builds here and in other places. That means making decisions. And one of the decisions is to park the Pz II for the time being
I'll keep watching the builds here with interest!!

How is the interior detail on that? I built the Ostmark for this campaign, and mine didn't have open doors or windows, thus, no interior at all...PS, I have the Sudetenland decals if you want them, just message your address!

Thanks Clayton. Interior you say? -- the most this kit has for the insides are the door handles!
Anyways, no issue for me as am not much of an interior builder. I will just have the paint the insides black.
Hey, I won't decline on those decals -- thanks!
Cheers,
Tat

Fellow Poland 39ers,
Progress has slowed on my PzII by Tamiya. I pretty much have the upper and lower hull finished and I have been side-tracked - working on a base by Tiger Werke. The build on the model has been straight-forward, so far. The resin base was nice, but too clean, in my opinion. I added some bricks and some RR ballast to improve the rubble. Now for some more painting and to complete the turret. All in all, moving along OK.
As usual, comments always welcome.
Thanks,
Stephen

I’m in for a late start with a Polish WZ. 34 11 Polski Samochod Pancerny z Dzialkiem 37mm in 1/72 scale!
With the campaign end date of August 1 I have only two weeks, but this is a small build...

Clayton, I usually do ship models, so 1/72 actually seems fairly large.
My last foray into 1/35 scale was a bicycle, and it seemed massive to me!

Yep, I reckon it all depends on your point of view!

I'm just back from a two week road trip and ready to get back to my 7TP project. I got the Fruils darkened this weekend with a new to me Urschi fluid that worked pretty well.
I also shot the basic sand color out of a spray bomb and masked it with another product new to me, Panzer Putty which was a lot of fun to work with, not like any other masking agent I have ever tried. A brown & a green were shot also using a spray bomb. The results were pretty good for my modest skill level and I can see where it would really be great for an airbrush. That will be the next "new" thing to tackle. Pics later when I have time to download them from the camera & process them.

Alvaro - Your stencils really add to the look, the Panzer is coming along nicely. Are you warming up?
