The Mastodon is close to 1/48 scale. The figures would be roughly 30mm high, but heroic scale so more bulky than true scale humans.
It is from the war game warhammer 30k/40k. It is in resin, so it is a heavy beast. There will be six gun turrets on it: a heavy melta gun turret in the front to breach walls and obstacles. A heavy flamethrower turret on each side. A heavy lad cannon on each side, and finally a heavy Gatling cannon on the top for AAA.
Still lots of details to be added. Among them a couple of crew members.
More to follow in a couple of weeks.

Hey everyone! Sorry that I’ve been inactive thus far during this campaign, but LIFE has gotten in the way, big time. I’ve completed my build but I simply haven’t had the time to get here and post build updates and pictures, let alone check on everyone’s progress on their builds. So while I’ve got a couple of minutes to devote to it, I’m going to try and get some pictures posted in a (loosely) chronological order of the Amusing Hobby Neubaufahrzeug. I finished in February or March…can’t remember exactly!
Overall, it was a good time; everything went together well. A caveat to anyone considering this kit, however: Pay close attention to the instructions. They’re kinda fuzzy in some spots and you can find yourself omitting optional parts that you might actually want to incorporate into the build. For example, I cemented parts into place not knowing that, in doing so, I unintentionally opted out of building the full suspension. While I attribute that misstep to the instructions, I have to admit that some of it might have been user error! This is a really good kit, in any case, and I would recommend it without hesitation.
Hopefully my pictures will follow (still haven’t quite gotten the hang of this)…

This is where I ran into a problem and boxed myself out of a full suspension build. I believe that I didn't pay close enough attention to the instructions here and cemented the optional parts for the partial suspension. Had I used a little less CA I might have been able to correct my mistake. However...

Paul, yep the color is the same. I don't know whether there is any major difference between the Zvezda and the HB kits. HB is finely detailed so far (I wasted money on the PE but as I progress with the build, I decide not to use), my only minor problem is the plastic itself. Quite rigid type but nothing specially bad.
Karl, your grey beast looks impressing. Painting is first class
The only thing is the interior side of the hatch - and the Ultimate Question: were hatches painted Elfenbein or the color of the vehicle? I would vote for the latter.

Thank you, sir. As for the hatch color, you're probably correct. I just followed the directions without thinking too much beyond that.

Thanks for the recommendation and the warning. I'm not sure why kit makers spend so little time preparing their instructions. I would think they would even go as far a "beta" testing by having builders give their products trial builds to find the problems with the kits and instructions.

Well, she wrote quite a lot here. Your Landship came out well. The model is very convincing, looking like a well maintained vehicle in a back area that has been used but not abused or pressed hard by the strain of combat. Your marking look painted on and I like the color shading on the dark grey paint. That crazy looking exhaust system came out particularly well. Great job!
As far as posting full sized pictures, it is easy once you know the trick. When you post your picture to the gallery there is a section under the picture that is labeled Linked Thumbnail:. At the right hand side of that line is a teeny tiny little green box. Click on it and another section appears under it called HTML code:. Copy that code and paste it into your post. Then you will have the full size picture. I'm not sure what the max size is so I use 800 pixles and it works fine.

I'd be happy to volunteer my services for test builds (but I don't see it happening, unfortunately)! As for Wingnut Wings, I've got a kit or two of theirs on my short list to buy at some point. I've read elsewhere that their kits are outstanding in all facets.

The Zvezda kit is somewhat simpler that the HB kit and has NO photo etch at all. I'm OK with this for the most part but do wish it had PE screens rather than the heavy handed plastic parts. The only REAL complaint I have is the soft plastic that is hard to work with. I may learn to deal with it in time for the next Zvezda project.

I love fondling new kits when I get them in and none more so than the WNW kits. The plastic is top notch and the instructions are a booklet in themselves. No research material is needed outside of what is provided and should the builder wish to go further a guide to other resources is provided right on the sheet.
Everyone in the business should be taking notes.

Thanks, Paul. I didn't try to bang it up too much since this version saw only limited action in Norway. I've been working on my weathering technique over the last couple of builds and admittedly have a way to go before I'm satisfied with it. But I keep trying! as for the thumbnail trick I'll give it a shot:

Finally able to post some photos of the NBFZ. It's a nice, quick build and I hope to bring some of the detail out in the weathering process. (Even though these guys didn't see much time in the field).
I'm a bit disappointed in the detail. Especially the exterior of the small turrets, and interior of the hatches. If you want to display one of these with any of the hatches open, go with the Amusing Hobby version.

Steve, there appears to be a couple of discrepancies in the exterior details of your NBFZ and mine, but they shouldn't be deal breakers (the weather stripping over the MG turret hatches; the detailing of the commander's cupola; is the suspension open at the bottom?). Overall, it looks like a well-assembled fine kit.

Since this got bumped again it's probably the best timing
Also, great looking NbFz so far! Those little etch strips on the hull look nightmarish though!
Does anyone know when the campaign ends? I've had life getting in the way, and OCD with finishing a model before I work on a new one... Very bad combination. Been stuck on Trumpeter's old Challenger 2 (A bit crude honestly) and dealing with a lot of 'random' issues (Should technically decrease soon though...) has been delaying my modelling to no end.
I'm not sure on the end date myself, but currently it looks a bit hopeless on finishing my entry in-time.
And it doesnt help that I still only have the M60A1 as an option (... Numerous reasons delayed the Chi-Ri), though, I will admit that Mark IV looks interesting... Certainly going to be watching!
Sorry for the aimless post, felt obligated to update as to why I've went nowhere, but Im dealing with a ridiculous amount of mosquito bites between sentences.
Short version: What's the end date again? Since the campaign started I've been dealing with a irritating-at-best diagnosis, and It doesnt seem likely I'll be able to finish anything for the campaign...
Granted, I started getting treatments that should start working within a month, So... If im lucky!
