Rather amazing how well the Quad tractor holds up when compared with other more recently produced kits. It is one of my favorites.
Good work!

Michael and Linus- Both looking great!

Thanks Clayton.
Can anyone hook me up with a photo of what the AM etch looks like for the sFH 18? The kit seems so absolutely well detailed that I can't help but wonder what could be missing??? I found a couple of cast tow rings that needed to be drilled out and a few tiny handles missing but so far that is about it. (And the barrel rifling!)
Otherwise I'd say it is a truly great kit!

Yes, it is not a race, so here's an update:
Unlike Michael, i'm sacrificing some realism by keeping the recuperator rods attached (saving those guys some pulling too)

Oh, I know it's not a race (except to finish before the deadline); I was just poking fun at your "don't want to steal your thunder" comment as I think at least four of this kit has been built. I think the thunder got kind of diluted by this point.
The second guy pulled his entry out so he could make it part of his Truck & Trailer campaign entry, so we're down to three, I think?
Looks like both of you are doing the towed positioning; I have the figure set for it so I am thinking of using the remaining time to diorama it and see if I'm ready to wear big boy pants. I am curious to see our final outcomes and how our approaches compare/contrast on the same kit.

Got a primer coat and the base color applied last night to the gun. Working how on repairing my old Sd. Kfz. 7 that took an unscheduled trip to the concrete floor a few years back. Also I am adding a set of civilian pattern tires from Voyager Models to the original Tamiya kit.
With all the failings of the old Tamiya model I may soon have need of purchasing one of the recent much better versions of the 7 now on the market.

One more, positive comment regarding the Dragon sFH 18 kit:
As I was painting the tires on the gun I happened to notice something. The tires have raised sidewall lettering!!!!!
In very, very small letters you can see the word "Continental". Very impressive!

That is a nice detail Dragon always provides; the sidewall lettering.

Pawel, if you don't mind me asking; what coating did you use on your wheel rims? I have tried using pencil lead but the shine does not seem pronounced enough to really show up.

@165thspc:
I'm to using a pencil 4H but after it I'm polishing a surface by rubber brush. Below example of this tool.

great looking static artillery pieces so far.
Here is where mine stands as of today.
bought a PE tool for the build. Amount of times needed, 0. o well
There are quit a few errors in the kit. Including a spru which seems to be about 50% of part or more are for a HUMVEE. Need to fill in these holes and then let in sit for about a month until I figure the paint scheme.
