This gives one a fluid sense of motion captured in snapshots in time .
I don't know if you did the crew member balancing on his boot heel and head as he's in the midst of being shot and thrown backwards on purpose . At first it looked a little awkward to see him levitating on his heel and head but after looking at it awhile it really gives a sense of " in the moment " .

@Tim-High praise coming from the "dioman" himself ! You certainly have the filmakers' knack,that is for sure. I am liking this "graphic novel" thing. I hadn't thought of my stuff in that way,but then again,this concept is also new for me. I never combined the 2D paintings,dio and narrative all together before,I don't think?

@Cheyenne-thanks man,for checking in and commenting. I was going for a guy writhing in pain,just after getting the head shot from LTC Clift. A bad,but not fatal,wound. I know this pose is possible,as I learned the move while wrestling in High School !

This thing took quite a while to get done but there was a lot of down time involved. I tried new stuff and some worked,some....not so much. I am already thinking/planning new stuff. Time for a small thing so I can get something done and feel the sense of accomplishment !

I love this! I love the wounded gun commander in the doorway (Jerry's best ever figure?). I love the story telling with each image conveying a particular episode and I love the clever use of backdrop to give a grander sense of scale. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery so consider yourself flattered cos Im going to try and imitate the hell out of this.

What an incredible piece of work Jerry. The story is fantastic even without a narrative. I have enjoyed this build so much that I almost hate to see it finished. What incredible project will grace the Rutman bench next. Thanks for sharing Jerry, its been a pleasure to follow.

Hi Jerry - another great episode of The Jerry Files - wow. The narration is a great add - nice way to summarize the event. The fine detailing of the buildings and scenery is in balance with all the subtlety of the figures....how do you do it?? Every time!!??!

Thanks so much guys for the awesome encouragement. You may not realize it but it does a world of good for me every time.
I am specifically stoked over how you liked the written portion of this latest work. That discipline is yet another one I always wished I had pursued. But reality brought me back to earth quickly ! LoL
As for the next project ? It should be small so I can get something completed right away. I have learned it's good for my work ethic,otherwise the big projects make me feel like I never finish anything an that is not good.
I started on something Friday but already lost the motivation ! So we will see what happens,

I'm a bit late commenting on this as I've been distracted by the things for a week or so.
Anyway, now I'm looking at the finished article it was worth the wait. Fantastic stuff!
The buildings, the street, the vegetation all proved the perfect backdrop for some really nicely done, natural looking figures and an equally good Pak40.
The interaction between them, the sense of "what's going on"... all really well done. Bringing history to life in miniature. Something I aspire to but seldom achieve, certainly not as well as this (and your others too..).
Inspirational stuff!

Hi Jerry,

Any progress on the diorama? I'm following it with great interest and a sense of awe at your excellent workmanship.

If I may ask, for the PaK40 did you use the rubber/vinyl (?) tires that come with the Dragon kit?

If so, have you ever had any problems with the rubber perishing or disintegratibg in time? Do you paint with enamels or acrylics?

I have the Dragon PaK40 kit and want to do it justice like you've done here!

The dio has been finished for a while now and is a page or 2 back in this thread. I used the Dragon vinyl tiers yes. They are very new so I haven't had them painted long enough to see how they react !
I used acrylics for everything,top to bottom.
