Hi Jerry, I think it might be Kurt Meyers kids on that horizon. I cant wait to see your Putot installment. Another great subject would be the 1st battle of Authie on june 7. The 12 SS got the drop on the North Novies who were being supported by the Sherbrooke Fusiliers armoured unit. Kurt gave the Canadian units a real mauling at this one. I had a great uncle who was killed at the 2nd battle of Authie on July 9th. He was in the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. They drove out the Baby Div.at heavy cost.I never tire Jerry of reading about these post Dday actions. Another good story is about hill 112, the Black Watch of Canada suffered 75% casualties advancing up the hill. I will be looking forward to your next project, I really love the ones with the Canadian involvement as I grew up listening to stories from the Vets who took part in them.As always Jerry, best regards....Dale

Ohhhh...not to worry brother. I have a whole passle of operations from Normandy planned. I am writing a book right now and have a deal so if it does OK there will be a series, all about the Commonwealth sector of Normandy. Even if it does not sell, there will still be Normandy dios coming from this AO.

Wasn't that Verrieres Ridge? It's across the River Orne from Hill 112 (you can see each one from the other, though). There's a book coming out soon by O'Keefe about the Black Watch up there.
There's also a couple of documentaries which cover it.

Cheers

Congrats on the book, Brother. But I didn't know anybody from the 05 even knew how read let alone write... LOL. Seriously though, well deserved congratulations. Are your dios going to be featured in the books or actual combat camera photos? I am thinking positively that there will be a series when I say books.

Plus 1 to what the doc says. Might be pretty cool to illustrate with your dios but, when would you eat and stuff?

John and Phil,
Thanks guys for the votes of confidence, It is kinda daunting for sure and it will be (already is) a TON of work because all of the graphics and artwork and figures/dios/etc will be done by me. There is nobody to point any fingers at if it fails. LoL
And hey,I was in the 504 man! We had,at least, moved on from crayons by the time I left.

Geez, Jerry I apologize for accusing you of being one of them; as a fellow Devil in Baggy Pants you know how it is with the 05 and the 325. You can count on a sale here, I'm always up for supporting a brother's efforts!

Thanks man! And one old insult that can be put to rest while I was in the BEST Regt in the deuce. There is no longer any way you can say "no war 04" !! We now have FIVE combat jump stars! LoL Nobody else matches that one.
