Very cool Jerry , beautiful work !!!
You ready to show the whole scene yet ?

Thanks buddy!
The scene is still a WIP. I have the groundwork about 95% finished but still have 3 more teeny gents to slather paint on. But progress is at last being made!

Ace side-on shot of the Crommy, as Mike F said perfectly matched to terrain. So perfect you can “feel” the weight, I don’t know how long it took to get just the right dip in the suspension but I’m sure it would have taken me hours & it still wouldn’t have looked right!

The positioning didn't take long at all man. Assembling those Fruil treads took a LONG time though. But....it was worth it because of the excellent "sag" you get with the metal tracks.
Certainly not as hard as building/re-building/modifying 3 complete tram cars!
Thanks buddy!

Brigadier Roscoe Harvey commanding the 29Armoured Bde makes last minute checks on his map before ordering the next phase of the Operation to commence. His aid,Lt Dobson, checks the maps orientation using a compass.

A staff major gives the movement orders to the squadron leader of the 2nd Northants Yoemanry, the recon element of the Bde."Crack on to the Odon, there's a good man". Reports say the way is clear, but others aren't too sure. The failure to take Fonteney and Raury the previous day will have consequences. HJ will have just enough time to react.

You've done it again, Jerry!

Excellent stuff. Any chance of a wider shot showing the whole thing? Or are you still putting it together?

The DR is perfect...

Cheers

Excellent detail, great less-common subject & storyline Jerry. Interesting effect having a guy pointing directly towards the viewer (& he’s not even German), I can’t recall seeing that done before (not memorably anyway) and it works really well. Overwhelming temptation to plonk a few stereotypical enamel mugs of tea atop the mudguard? On balance glad you resisted & I second the wider shot request (PS is that overcast-daylight or white-indoors?)

Just outstanding work as usual Jerry. Truly inspiring.

And so realistic it might cause one (me) to read up a little more on the Normandy Campaign.
I hadn't realised there was literally more than twenty operations prior to the landings in early June until the liberation of Paris and the last German forces crossing the Seine at the end of August.

This dio really hits the bullseye Sir.

Thank You for this.

Thanks Dave, so true!
When I was young I held the view of the majority of people. That is,there was DDay and then....we captured Paris. Pretty much defeated the Germans at the beach and then drove to Paris for a parade. Later,I became familiar with the "Falaise Gap" and so on. Much later,I began reading the German side of things and became fascinated by the "Baby Division" and that led to reading about the Commonwealth forces that confronted that foe.
Big line of dominoes led to this point.
Thanks again for the kind remarks man!

Hi Jerry, I too have long been interested in the Baby Div. I am from Nova Scotia in Canada, and I knew many vets from the North Nova Scotia Highlanders who were part of 9th Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. They fought the 12 SS many times and they said they were tough and would very seldom gave up. I have medals and an SS helmet given to me by a vet. I have often thought about doing a dio of the battle for Carpiquet airport. I just cant seem to find the time to finish anything. Hopefully someday I will find some free time.lol. I look forward to seeing your next project installment,as always best regards....Dale

Thanks Dave,I also have an upcoming dio planned covering the Canadians fight at Putot against the 12SS.
Lots of material here to cover!

Right now the Tommies are looking over the sodden horizon and wondering what's next.

Enjoy the weekend!
