Ace side-on shot of the Crommy, as Mike F said perfectly matched to terrain. So perfect you can “feel” the weight, I don’t know how long it took to get just the right dip in the suspension but I’m sure it would have taken me hours & it still wouldn’t have looked right!

The positioning didn't take long at all man. Assembling those Fruil treads took a LONG time though. But....it was worth it because of the excellent "sag" you get with the metal tracks.
Certainly not as hard as building/re-building/modifying 3 complete tram cars!

And so realistic it might cause one (me) to read up a little more on the Normandy Campaign.
I hadn't realised there was literally more than twenty operations prior to the landings in early June until the liberation of Paris and the last German forces crossing the Seine at the end of August.
This dio really hits the bullseye Sir.

Thanks Dave, so true!
When I was young I held the view of the majority of people. That is,there was DDay and then....we captured Paris. Pretty much defeated the Germans at the beach and then drove to Paris for a parade. Later,I became familiar with the "Falaise Gap" and so on. Much later,I began reading the German side of things and became fascinated by the "Baby Division" and that led to reading about the Commonwealth forces that confronted that foe.
Big line of dominoes led to this point.

I am from Nova Scotia in Canada, and I knew many vets from the North Nova Scotia Highlanders who were part of 9th Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. They fought the 12 SS many times and they said they were tough and would very seldom gave up. I have medals and an SS helmet given to me by a vet. I have often thought about doing a dio of the battle for Carpiquet airport. I just cant seem to find the time to finish anything. Hopefully someday I will find some free time.lol. I look forward to seeing your next project installment,as always best regards....Dale
