Hi folks! I'd like to join in with this model of Tamiya's Sturmpanzer IV Brummbar. 15cm gun counts for this campaign right? Hehe.

Welcome Bob!
I'm going to say yes to the 2S3; but no to the Brumbar. I look at the Brumbar as more of an assault platform, a direct fire weapon.

Oh, sorry. Didn't catch that exchange - I'll find something else to enter then. I think I have a Korean K9 Thunder hidden away somewhere that fits the bill

Then you must have also missed my later post where I put my foot in it ... see bottom of page 8.... which is the prompt for my little joke above.

Aloha All,
Nathan: very nice work! I like it.
I've made some progress in getting the base color down on my Sevastopol siege gun.
I think I'll stick with the dunkelgrau scheme and play with a dot filter to see how that turns out for me.
Happy Modeling,
Zon

As there is already a 2S3 in the mix, I was going to join with Trumpeter's 2S1, but the idea of gluing 484 guide horns to the links for a total of 592 parts just for the tracks was sapping my will to live. So instead I will do the 2S3 (early)
and hope to do it justice.

Zon and Franck, you have done exceptional work guys. Two very different, but well executed models so far.

Peter: thank you for the encouragement.
Franke: very well done! I can see that at a fire base on top of a hill.
Thomas: I dont know how I missed your finished post. Outstanding work, sir! The whole scene is excellent.
Happy Modeling,
Zon

Very nice work everyone! Well, after much frustration with exceedingly finicky PE, lost parts, unclear instructions and a general malaise, I have consigned the Grille back to the shelf for such a time as I am better able to deal with it . I shall now reset with the Sig.33 auf Pz. III, will be pretty much OOB to keep my sanity.

Assembly complete! On to the paint booth.
The only concessions to additional detail were a new fire extinguisher to replace the blob that came with the kit and a muzzle cover I made from some copper sheet and extra PE chain:

Excellent Colin. Love the little etch extras.
I have heard the old version goes together better than their later release - go figure....
