Chassis 90% complete, still missing a few parts but effectively done.
Main gun mock fitted to the upper hull part
Interior base coat laid down
And we've got a paint problem...
I'm not sure what's causing this. Used AMMO by Mig sprayed at 20psi thinned 50/50 with Ammo thinner. Paint kept spitting no matter what I was doing.

Ouch! Looks like the paint is beading up on an oily plastic surface. I never got on with Ammo paints for much the same reason - all I run through my AB is Tamiya Acrylic. I hope you washed it off straight away!

Hope the paint issue gets sorted Jim, and doesnt slow you down to much.
An update with the Jagdtiger. after some issues with the track tightness from the donated tracks, i have hopefully got then secured. They were super tight and first attempt to create sag with super gluing them down was a big fail.
Next attempt with 2 part epoxy glue was also a fail and before they finally sprung away, I managed to get some thin wire in at the rear on the hull side and have bound the upper run to the lower on on the left and right hand side, and with some weathering and dirt and grime the wire should remain hidden.
Have now applied a base coat of Camo green and I am pretty happy with the coverage so far. Any bits i missed will be taken up with the brown and Dunkelgelb when they go on.
I decided to try the tamiya NATO green as I saw it done on another model and it looked ok, once its weathered etc it will be toned down a bit more as well. Going to finish the barrel with a dark grey which i have seen done on other late wagons.
have fun and stay safe ... John

Looks like too much thinner Jim. Mig Ammo usually doesn't need much, if any thinner. Check out Mig's own use of his paints straight out of the bottle use here:

Looking Good John.
To Give you and idea of what NATO green looks like, the Jagdtiger in the background of one of my pictures was done with NATO Green, NATO Brown, and XF 60 Dark Sand.

Thanks Norman ... I just had a look at your Jtiger, and I do like the NATO brown so I may use that as well. I was going to try the Dunkelgelb from the Life Colours late German set I have, but will decide on that later.

I'm hoping so too. I most likely need to wash the kit. I rarely build Dragon kits and have never had an issue with the other kits I build going straight to paint. Typically use Tamiya through the gun. AMMO is new to me.
I think I have an airflow issue as well with the krome so I'll be pulling it apart and deep cleaning it further. Needed to take a break from the airbrush as it also spat gloss coat all over a test kit. Should know tomorrow or Monday what the issue is.

Howdy Y'all
Progress shot on my model builds. The 1/144 Dragon TD's have been primed. I'll put them away for the time being, I don't feel like air brushing as it's still a little cool here in the Southern Rockies.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Bogi, great subject for the campaign. Always wanted to build the Panzerjager I.
David, I like the camouflage paintwork.
Oliver, the AMX build is looking great. Nice added details.
Rick, Stunning job!!! The attached foliage adds realism. Weathering on the tracks is terrific.
Pasi, your build is looking good. Cool tank.
Jim, work on your 234 is looking great. Good luck fixing the paint issue.
John, I like the NATO green color. Good luck taming those tracks.
Don, I like the paint shop line up....a Sherman, your tank destroyers, and the Blockade Runner. Cool.

I finally got my Takom tracks to replace the kit ones which are the all steel type whereas it should the rubber padded ones.
I'll post a review to my site later on.
The fit around the sprocket is correct if you thoroughly clean the contact surfaces. The tracks are not just a shake and bake kit. However the result is nice.
Takom asks you to assemble 85 links per track but I only assembled 84 which gives you less sag.

Next update on my Bandai 1/48 Hetzer.
More work on the interior. Made the left side ammo storage cut-a-way, and commander's alcove.
Painted up the crew members. One is from Bandai and the other two are from Tamiya.
Crew are at their stations. Work continues on the interior. Added the right side ammo storage, rear wall details, and radio compartment.
Thanks for viewing. Great work here in the campaign. Good luck to all on their projects. Bill

Thanks John. William the paint job on the figures is brilliant.
I managed to do some progress today. I wanted to depict a tank without the infantry telephone which is more suitable to the version with the ATGMs.
Here is the actual tank with the telephone removed.
And here is the result of my mods.
I think the rest of the build will be easier now without major mods to do.

Rick, I gotta say, the combination of this Jagdpanther in this camo pattern with these figures is perfect. I consider myself to have picky tastes composition wise but this really catches my eye. I cant wait to see it finished and I really hope to see it on a diorama base. Keep it up!

Guys, looking fantastic.
Exceptional paint work there Bogi. Very life like.
The added detail has come out a treat Olivier, as does the different tracks.
Bill, that hole in the hull reminds me of when a Terminator appears in those movies... ha ha.

Hi guys joined your campaign on the weekend, it's taken me this long to get this far.
I have replaced all the large grab handles with wire, 1 because i lost 1 and broke another, thinned the edge of all the fenders and added thin styrene to the front ones. Added wire for the head light, added new periscopes since there was none and made new covers lost one of those to, lol. I have only finished 1 armor model in the last 15 years so we will see how this goes. All comments welcome.

Today I scribed some panels lines omitted by Takom.
Then I started the missile support assembly. According to the instructions I drilled out three holes. Unfortunately only the central one is needed for the version I'm building that is the late (automatic command). Take note that 1 Takom mis named the early and late versions, 2 the instructions only show what you must do the for "early" version (the late one for real).
So I filled the two unnecessary holes.
Then I started to assemble the support itself. To my surprise Takom did not design any marks to help place it onto the gun. So you need to first glue the cable reel to the support and then the sub-assembly onto the gun. Take care to use a slow curing glue to adjust the position and the angles.
I also glued the three legs of the guiding unit on top of the turret roof. The guidance unit is not glued yet as I first need to modify the bar which runs at the bottom of the rear most leg. On the ATGM tank the bar is modified to run "around" the aforementioned leg. Takom only provides the standard straight bar.
I finally assembled and glued the whole support.
The missiles will be assembled soon but only glued when they are painted.
To be followed!

Not a lot done today. I added some bits. Beware when gluing the smoke dischargers. The upper ones are not at the right angle. They should be oriented more outward. Takom asks you to glue them before the antennas bases. It is not the right way otherwise you'll encounter problems because of the wrong orientation of the smokde dischargers.
I also replace the bar on the turret roof as I mentioned it in a previous post. I used the Takom part (H shaped) and cut the central bar which I replaced by a bit of styrene rod shaped as close as possible to the right shape.
And I was defeated by the carpet monster who ate a headlight glass.

I had the same problem today. The clear sprue for my A9 tank has gone AWOL and the search light lens I had cut from it first is no longer on the bench....
Loving all the detail work Olivier.

Got some paint down, not too sure I like the look of it.
Still a significant amount of work to do before decals/weathering at this rate. I've been slowly retouching the camouflage and fixing the edges as I attempted to do a freehanded green over the dunkelgelb. There was a not insignificant amount of overspray. Not too sure how I like these MIG paints. They've been chipping and scratching too easily compared to Tamiya.
