I am now facing the following challenge: I want to use MiG's Acryllic scratching fluid, BUT the topcoat I intend to use, is AK's Real color (laquer based) paint. Some say it will work, other say it won't.
Any one of you with experience in the combination? What do you use to wet the brush/toothpick?

Good question. I would do a test run on an old kit, just to be sure, the only safe bet. At least you will know up front, not opinions, but personal experience.

A friend of mine did a test yesterday (he has more spare time than I have), and he says it can't be done in this combo. Oh wel, I'll have to buy some other paint for the top coat then

Yeah, I don't know that either. I just bought a bottle of Vallejo Air. The base colours are in place, just some rust needs to be added. Then the chipping fluid and then the red brown...

Well, the progress is not really spectacular, but sóme things happened...
First of all, my ordered tank crew for the ammo panzer arrrived. Puzzle time!!!
And don't ask why, but somehow I ended up working at 4 models for this at the same time...

No, they came directly from the webshop of the manufacturer. I just opened the package 😁
They are from CMK. I will do some swapping of arms, so one of the officers will be guiding the driver of the ammo panzer off the flat wagon.
The MiniArt kit is mainly problem free. Just the couplings are a bit of a pain, but that is also because I want them working, so I can couple the wagon to others.
Plus, I have fabricate some air hoses. This wagon has no brakes, and whilst this is perfectly possible, in order to be able to put it between wagons which are equipped with brakes, there must be facilities for transfer of air to the others.

Well there will be a shunting lock and an Opel Maultier added too, besides the figures, which will pose a challenge of their own... 😜
I am sure you are perfectly capable of pulling this off. Probably better than I am...

It'll be interesting to see the quality of the figures when built and painted as the Scalemates image of the finished figures doesn't look that inspiring...hopefully I'm wrong,.

Yet again one of my updates. Building is still not very speedy. To much going on to go ahead at full steam
But things are not at a stand still. Some progress has been made on the G10. Talking about a detailed model... But somehow things in the drawing do not really work as they should. Heck, even the images on their website of a build model doesn't look like what is depicted on the instructions!
My work (made brackets for the pulling rod myself from Evergreen):

The BR-86 is coming along slowly too:
Last but not least, I decided to change the Opel Maultier for another truck. According to the information I have, the uint made use of 5t trucks. Now that the Germans did not posess such trucks (at least, not as far as I could find), the closest thing where 4,5t trucks, which neared 5t as loading capacity...
In the early days, I would not have imagined this, but I opted for a Zvezda Merceded L-4500, as this looks rather good!!!
The contents of the sprues looks a lot like Tamiya, and a lot better dan the Büssing-NAG of IBG I build before...

Yeah, there are actually a, lot of wire Parts are indicated as being optional. That won't do with me. These must go on...

Wagon’s looking great – as you say those extras must go on! BR-86 looks excellent too, L4500…who knows, old Zvezda stuff needed soooo much work but hopefully they’ve raised their game to compete, I’ll be very interested in your review

Thanks guys. The wagon indeed is quite a job. Only a pity that there are such stupid glitches. A rod that is depicted nice and straight (even a template is shown) on the instructions, yet can be only mounted with the supplied brackets with a rather crooked bend....
That should not be necessary.
As for the Merc: I plan to take it with me when we go and have a week vacation in October. So you'll have to wait until then.
I have an old Zvezda 6 pounder somewhere. It is horrible.

I did some construction work on the Ammo Panzer IV last weekend. Officially, you get the choice between the PE fenders or the plastic. IMHO you actually have no choice...
And, yes... I need to change the rear fenders :X
