Here is my Academy Hellcat.

I'm not very motivated in working on this kit right now. Maybe if i could just finish painting the challenger, panther and puma i would continue on the hellcat.

Hi Dogload,

your M10 looks mighty impressive already!

How did you achieved that look in the interior?

Thanks Danny, nice of you to say so.
The interior effect was 'achieved' as a result of using quite thin white (enamel) paint (you can see where it has collected in the ammo rack). So It was a couple of coats of that. I OD'd the floor before the white had dried properly, which is probably why it looks washed out. The whole compartment was then drinsed out with strong coffee (with milk) which leaves very nice stains- not to be done when wearing white!

Thanks Dogload, you basically gave me an idea on how to do my M18's interior.

To all campaign participants:

I'm proud to see how fast this thread is growing. I mean, how many times do you see 1 update thread grow to no less than 11 pages!

Great job all!

Keep the models coming..

As mentioned a few days ago, here are some pictures of my old Dragon Nashorn. In these pictures, the only thing remaining to be placed on the kit were the track links on the front of the hull.

Now on to the figures.

Keith,

a really nice looking Nashorn you have there... I am just wondering, what barrel did you use?

Cheers,

Hi Harm,

It is the Jordi Rubio barrel. I don't recall the number.

Question for all of you who have shown your built and unpainted models for this campaign. Do you build them all the way out and then paint? How do you do the roadwheels and tracks, take them off and paint them and put them back on or what? What about all the little pieces, you paint them on the vehicle?

Reason I ask is because I've started my build (Marder III) and am trying to figure out how exactly to proceed with it. Build it out then paint it or build sections, paint and put together. I'm leaning towards the latter, while it can possibly lead to missed steps or confusion, I think the painting would be easiest this way. Just not sure...

I always built in parts.....so I paint wheels and tracks before assembly.

Works best for me....

Hi Maurice:

Generally speaking, I fully assemble (except for stowage) my tank models before painting. With the Nashorn above, I may pull the 88 off the hull (it is not glued) to make painting the interior and gun a little easier. The details (tools, tow cables, mufflers, etc.) are painted after the main vehicle and possibly after some of the weathering has been done.

btw, now that I finished other campaigns I continued on my 251/22

Lower hull is almost ready for some first painting.....then I'll paint driver's compartement, the wheels, and after that I'll assemble the wheels and continue on the rest of the hull.

Then the PAK40

Also wanna do a second entry....a full tracked TD so that I've got both posibilities covered. Possibly a Hetzer or maybe a Panzerjäger 1

I've had this old Tamiya JagdPanzer IV L/70 sitting on my shelf for over 10 years. I bought it from a friend for about two bucks. I finally thought I'd get it going, especially since someone last week challenged me to "come to the dark side." (I don't generally do German armor unless it's artillery related)
At any rate, I had gotten the Eduard PE way back when, and someone had given me the steel wheels from a DML kit. Of course that meant deleting one set of return rollers. Just need to finish painting it, and weather it. I hope the ambush scheme, lack of zimmerit, and late exhaust stacks are all kosher with one another.

Hmmm... Well, I've been successful posting pics before, but this was my third attempt here on this one and it's not working. It's in my gallery.

Perhaps this helps:

Sometimes, the picture doesn't show using the 'copy' option. I guess it have to do wit the new gallery or so.
If this happens, I usely go to the picture in the gallery, right-mouse click on it and choose properties. Than copy the URL and paste it in your post using the [img] button...

It's a good looking model, specially for 2 bucks!
You are doing a great job "on the dark side...."
:-)

PS: I posted a post in the Site Talk forum about the pictures don't showing up, using this post as an example. In some way there is a URL problem with the gallery. Perhaps they can fix it.

Grumpyoldman, that dio is becoming great. I love the tired and beaten look of that Russians when they walk by the AT vehicle. Looking forward to the final results.

As I said before I was planning a Marder III for this campaign. Untill now I haven't touched it; need to finnish 2 other campaigns before mid june...
(I'm a campaign junkie).
But now I also ordered that beautifull L/61 "Sturer Emil" from Trumpeter. WHAT A BEAST! It's built on a experimental test chassis for a Tiger.
I expect it late next week, and that kit is definately gonna be an entry!!! Perhaps a dio with both of them, shows how big that L/61 is...

Wish it was friday allready...

Well, most of the stuff the Marder I arrived today.

It could be a lot of fun to make this kit... I am looking forward to when finals are done... A lot of projects to finish (and start), varying in size from 15 cm to almost 90.
