Steve (Idiotstick) has found some toothy decals for my Defiant MkI. Will start it soon.

Hi Frank!

A Defiant with Teeth? That's something I want to see! I'm sure Rowan (Merlin) will be also interested. Do you plan to build the Classic Airframes 1/48 kit?

Guys, I really must apologize for not really following along with this thread. I have tried to kind of catch up today and the builds here are great! I am really impressed by the work and sharing I see.

Now as for where I am at:
I am building the hasegawa 1/72 hellcat 'cat mouth.' It should have been a walk in the park, but I have done everything possible to screw it up. I started with visions of it being my first rescribing job. I got about halfway through that and just gave up. I do want to develop that skill and am ashamed that I gave up, but I gave up - way too many mistakes. I know it is supposed to be really easy, so I will try again when I can take the time to really fix all errors. So, anyway, I put the kit away for awhile and finally returned to it this week.

This week, I got it all together and realized that I lost the antenae, the canopy doesn't seem to fit at all, and blah, blah, blah, I'm not really proud of it.

But anyway, here is where I am at. Hopefully, a gloss coat can go on this week and decals soon after that. I assume that even with 'gloss sea blue' a gloss coat is a good idea??

Hi Leon!

Your Hellcat build seems to be a real fight! You said you gave up after rescribing half the model? Is it the left or the right half? :-) I see no difference on the pictures!
Rescribing on a 1/72 scale model must be quite difficult! Anyway, I'm happy you didn't let the cat sleep in a corner and decided to let him show his teeth here!

Unfortunately the Gallery maintenance isn't allowing me to post updated "status" pictures... we still have to be patient to see more finished models...

Hi Alguhan!

Thanks for passing by with a nice in-progress picture of your A-10! This is how I see them usually when they fly around here: from the underside. There is still one operationnal A-10 base in Germany and pairs of Thunderbolts are often flying over France from there. One flight per week in the summer, usually Wednesdays... I can tell you the sound of their engines is very impressive! I must be the only one here to like that "music" in fact! :-)

Hi Joe!

An "On Display" feature is like a small photo album. You can see the most recent ones on the Main Page under the title "Models On Display". Currently, the last one is Bill Lachance's excellent Me 262 A-1B.
Everyone can submit pictures of his model for display on Armorama via the Support Center. My idea is to take one picture of every finished model and make a "Show Your Teeth" "On Display" feature that will show up on the Main Page for a while and then will be accessible through the "Features" pages.

I hope I answered your question...

Once again Jean-Luc is playing the guilt conscience card... This time he's doing it on a Saturday! With only 2/3 of the camaign period to go!?!

or is it only us that haven't started that feel this way?

If this is allowed to continue, everybody will have finished their stuff in time!! How will that make all other campaigns look?! What standards are we setting for the future!?! ;-)

:-)

Anyhow, I just wanted to inform you that I've decided to do another subject than the one previously announced. Instead of the rather tiny and innocent-looking SAAB J 21, I'm going to build this brute!

This is the SAAB A 32 "Lansen" (F6 03) with some mean fangs! The picture was taken in 1977. There is a great story about the particular painting, but I'll save that one for later! - I'll be using the ol' Heller kit in 1/72. I might be starting it within the next couple of days... But then again...

Ps. Great work everybody, and cudos for running a tough but excellent campaign, Jean-Luc!

Cheers!!!

Hi Joe!

Yes Bill is really a Master Class model builder. Too bad he didn't enlisted in the "Teeth" Campaign... Bill if you read this

Now the Gallery is running again, where are all those finished entries? I thought I heard about a Spitfire and an A-10 coming in!

Maybe a "build your stash" campaign is required?

wow - that is a great idea actually. not the whole stash of course, but something like 'build the oldest kit in your stash", or largest, or most exotic, or whatever...

so i finally have managed to get the kit i am going to build for this campaign out of my storage unit and have the decals now. i'll photograph both and post soon.

Hi Vance and Joe!

Looking forward to see what you are going to build Vance!
About a "build your stash" Campaign idea, Rowan (Merlin) suggested a "Vintage" Campaign last year (old kits from the 60'/70's only build OOB). This is something we HAVE to do one day!
Joe, yes there are some very fine entries... to bad the Gallery is down because some more finished models are already in the waiting queue... we just have to be patient.

Well, I'll be nice to you. You may add me in the "In flight" section instead!

This is the Heller Saab 32 Lansen in 1/72, that I just started. I've opened up a couple of slots on the sides, in order to add the rather elaborate airbrakes that are extended on all parked aircrafts.

Let's try this again.

Here is my completed MkVIII Australian Spitfire 'Grey Nurse' It started as a 12hr build, and by the time I finished the wash and hand painted details, turned into a 17hr build.

Thank you Jean-Luc for hosting such a great campaign!

Frank

Hi Björn!

It's with great pleasure that I'll move you to the "In Flight" section! Don't take the thing about the access ladder too seriously though... it was only a joke. But if you are going to build it, maybe you could also add that nice "Robot RB 04" I see on the 3 view plan! :-)

Hi Frank!

What can I say? I LOVE your Spitfire! Don't forget to add it to Mal's Spitfire Anniversary MOM! I know he will be very happy!
17 hours? I think you've got the record!
See you in the "Flattop" Campaign!
