Damn Grant, that was quick..........
There wasn't exacty a whole lot of detail in the cockpit/fuselage. I think most of the time will be spent making the weapon load.
I'm going to be trying out some stuff on the paintjob, so we'll see how it goes. It's been so long since I've built models that I was surprised how big a 1/48 A-10 actually is. :-)
I think next I'm going to make one of those 1/32 Tamiya jets. Anybody know about the quality of the 1/32 Trumpeter aircraft kits?

Hi Grant!
Looks very good so far! Nice and clean...
As I said before, this is the way I see them when they come flying by from their German base over our region: from the bottom! :-) I recently bought a new (and better!
) digital camera. Next time they pass by, I'll try to take some pictures. I think they come from the 52nd Fighter Wing, 81st Fighter Squadron, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
Keep the pictures coming Grant!

Hi Grant!
Great job... without an airbrush? Damn, think about what you can do with one!
I'm not a specialist of modern planes so I don't know about the soft edge camo on A-10s. Anyway, my philosophy of modeling is: better an inaccurate but good looking model than an accurate bad looking one. Of course an accurate good looking one is probably the best! :-)
Anyway, your A-10 looks good! I like it!

Wow eMan! I didn't know that we had a Lightning in the campaign. It looks really mean even without the fangs! I can only imagine how tough it will look with the teeth! :-)
Now I really have to get going with my project!
Cheers!

Hi eMan!
Now that's a nice surprise!
Your Lightning look splendid so far. Like Polarbear, I can't wait to see the teeth decals on it! thanks for the picture...
Roderick, I'm looking forward to see some more pictures of your model.
Björn... yes it's about time you start scratchbuilding that access ladder! :-)

Ah well, I'll be on the look out for those inaccuracies with later builds. I'm just concentrating on building something that looks halfway decent at the moment. The plans also said khaki for the third colour, so I chose the greyest green I could find. And it looks more grey in person than it does in the photos, honest. :-)

Looks nice mate, but I think the A10 has softedge camo so in 1/48 hard edge looks a bit....... hard......
I'd agree, but geeez...... If I could paint with spray cans and make it turn out as good as that A-10 I'd throw away my airbrush. Every time I've ever tried to use paint from spray cans I ended up with big blobs of thick paint running everywhere.
Great job Grant!!
Lap, your Lightning looks awsome so far. Can't wait to see it finished.

Hi Roderick!
You don't have to be ashamed I think! You made honest remarks about the paintsheme. You didn't said it was badly done but just pointed out it "may" be inaccurate. I think it was fair and this don't minimize the fact that EDC's paintjob is superb!
To comfort you a little, here are pictures of A-10s I managed to make while they were exercising over my little town today.
Ok, they are not very sharp but I had to use the optical zoom of my new digital camera at maximum
I think I can make better ones. They flew really low during one of their pass but I wasn't quick enough. The weather was also very bad today. But it's a nice show when they fly here around, it's like being in a Meeting...

That is very cool, military jets of any description are a bit rare in these parts. :-)
Thanks for you kind words about my paint job too.

Hi all
An in progress picture of my F-4E. After seeing the inspiring standard on all of the completed models, I decided to take it up a notch and have a go at PE for the first time. I'm pretty happy with the results so far.
Sorry about the quality of the picture but it was about as clear as I could get with my camera.

Wizard the cockpit looks very cool - please tell me the dials are not seperate pieces of P.E
Also please don't invite me "to check out your cockpit' when I'm walking past your cubicle at work - the rest of the guys are still looking at me funny :-) :-)
