The A-10 looks real nice to me. What scale is it???
Hi, it's the 1/48 Tamiya. I've only recently returned to the hobby, so I suspect that it might be a little lacking in detail for some.

Stunning A10 Grant, the only thing missing is a ton of weaponry hanging off it.
Hi Andy, the thought of individually painting all those bombs and missles was too much to bear right at the moment. :-)

I will most probably finish the model in two days.]
Hi ASTM-A108!
Very Nice! Looking forward to see the decals on it! The model looks very promising so far!

Hi all!
Here is a new visual status report.
Seems all is quite on the "Teeth" Front!?

Sois calme, mon ami! Don't rush the indolent, no good, lazy campaign participants (that haven't finished yet), such as myself. :-)
Month and a half to go, and I haven't got around to the dental work yet - but I'm getting there!

The mouth was masked and painted. It's been quite tough to find the proper numbers, shield markings etc (this is a unique aircraft). I think I'm going to use spare decals for the teeth, i.e. cutting the fangs from white decals. I think that will give a better result than trying to paint them.
A lot of work remaining. And then there's the ladder...

Cheers!

Wow Björn!
This looks fantastic! You get the prize for originality for sure!

Can't wait to see the mouth finished... and that access ladder of course!

Hi Alguhan!
Nice one!
I'm happy you had some fun with your model! I'm not quite sure about the placement of the mouth decals but your A-10 looks very agressive... especially on the second picture!
Thanks a lot for entry number 20!

Update - Now with teeth!!!
My first idea,
i.e. to use decals for the fangs, didn't work out. The scale is probably too small. I cut the white teeth with a #11 blade (and even used a decal with a red stripe on - so that I could let the red stripe bridge the teeth together), but the teeth were to small and I found it impossible to get the cut out decal to stick together.
Instead, I opted for some traditional masking and painting. I wanted to keep the layers of paint to a minimum, so I started with two coats of grey, and then two coats of white. It was quite tricky to get the masking etc right, but the result is - in my opinion - rather ok!

Some cleaning between the teeth has to be done (flossing?), but I think I'll do that tomorrow...
Cheers!

Hi Björn!
Now will you stop sending edited pictures of the real aircraft! :-)
Jokes aside you made a fantastic job!

The mouth looks just great... like the real thing! Did you already made the other side?
The result is not "ok", it is just incredible!

Fortunately, the plane was only painted on one side!!!
The whole idea to paint teeth on the A 32 Lansen was a prank by a young member of the ground crew (nowadays, he works as an aircraft photografer and is an active member of IPMS Stockholm). It was NOT appreciated by his superiors!
I'll give you the whole story when the model is finished!
Cheers!

A couple of progress pictures of my F-20 Tigershark what if project. Its the 1/72 Hasagawa kit built out of the box. It has required a fair amount of filler and sanding. The chaff/flare launchers are from an Italeri Jaguar. The jammer pod and Penguin are from Hasagawa weapon sets. The Alarm is from a Revell Tornado kit. I hand painted the Sharkmouth. I'm undecided about what national markings to give it.

Hello everyone,
So it seems that i am going to have to pull out of this campaign (and all the other's i was in that end before june or so), as i managed to break a bone in my left hand yesterday and will be in a full forearm cast for the next 6 or 7 weeks!
I don't think i am going to have much luck with one handed modelling.
anyway, I'll be looking in on the campaigns with envy, so everyone keep up the good work!

Wow Vance! That's bad luck!

I didn't thought we could suffer casualties in this Campaign. But if it is possible, I'll award you the ribbon as soon as you entry is finished even if it is way beyond the deadline. I hope nobody will mind... just paint a nice sharkmouth on your forearm cast meanwhile!
David, your F-20 looks good so far!

I think thats fair, Vance's entry can be a 1:1 Arm cast with teeth.........
I would like to see in-flight shots though..... :-) :-)
I fully agree, just a shot of the teeth on the cast will be good. I hope you get better soon.

thanks for the sympathy and understanding everyone!
I'll be sure to finish up my entry once i am no longer a gimp. thanks for that offer Jean-Luc!
my broken hand was actually the result of a bad auto accident. i was run off the road by another driver. I actually came out of it much better off than anyone, including myself, expected.
so, for the first series of "in flight" shots, go
here those photos were taken the day after the accident (yesterday). you can actually see me walking around the vehicle wearing a splint (I don't get the permanent cast till next week after the swelling goes down) in a few of the shots.
the shark teeth will be my cast's first decoration once i get it though! thanks for the idea!

Hi Vance!
I saw the pictures of your car!!!

I think you are lucky with "only" one broken hand... and I also hope the other guy has a good insurance.
Take care of yourself!

Hi Vance!
That looks like a nasty accident. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Regarding your campaign entries, I might accept that you paint
Suez stripes on the cast, should the healing process take longer than expected... Hopefully though, that won't be necessary!
Keep us updated!
Cheers!

thanks for all the sympathy and good wishes! yes, I was EXCEPTIONALLY lucky to come out of that with the worst injury being a broken hand - still not sure how i managed that...
anyway, i didn't mean to run this thread off the on-topic rails as much as i have.
But I think i'll put suez stripes on the cast too even though I sure hope I can get back to modelling well before that deadline!
now get back on topic and someone post some more sharkteeth model photos!

Here is my 'extra credit' assignment to buy me more time on this capaign. Note - if you don't think you are going to finish on time, I strongly suggest finding another way to get an extention. I am learning just how truely a broken hand sucks.

I also applied 'operation musketeer' style stripes in honor of the 'Suez Stripes' campaign.
