ok, finally throwing my hat into the ring in an official context. here is my intended subject: A B-25D from the accurate minitures kit, using the cutting edge corrected cowlings and Aero Master decals to depict "Hells Belles" - a bat face with teeth!

I've had the kit since it was first released but because of grad school and moving abroad, it never got any attention till now. some quick interior painting and assembly has gotten me this far. Hopefully I can manage the rest before the campaign ends!

Frank, that Spitfire is beautiful. I know I joke around a lot but you do way better work in 17 hours than I can in 17 weeks and that's no joke. I'm not trying to score any brownie points here, but seriously, some of you guys aren't building models, you're creating works of art.
As a side note, are you using a satin or flat as your final coat? Looks like satin from here.

I don't think I could have picked a better campaign for my first...Jean-Luc's great attention to detail and all the "works of art" I've seen have really encouraged me. Here's an update on my U.S. Spitfire...hopefully I'll finish it up this weekend...Nigel

Frank

And make sure you use enough!

already got the kit supplied ballast in, but will be sure to add more now that you guys mention it. luckily the nose glazing is entirely painted over on the aircraft i am doing, so i'll have room for it.

cheers, -v-

Hi all!

Glad to see more models are coming in!

Roderick! Congratulations for the first A10. Seems others are on the way. I would add another coat of paint to the base though. To "hide" the fact it is styrofoam. Thunderbolts are heavy you know! :-)

Vance, nice one! I wanted to do the exact same kit for this campaign... but didn't had the courage! I will have enough work with my Boston for the "Bombs Away" Campaign. I wonder if Mal isn't working on a B-25 too! Anyway, it's great to have a medium bomber for the campaign!

Nigel, U.S. Spitfires in North African Camo are amongst the best looking ones! I just love that paintscheme! I'm looking forward to see the Stars on the model... and the sharkmouth!

EDC, thanks a lot for joining the Campaign! Your A-10 is 1/48 scale isn't it? I can't wait to see in-progress pictures!

Thanks a lot for all these fine entries! Keep them coming!

Hi everyone

Now that my move is mostly completed and I have the computer and internet setup again, I can get back to the campaign.

So here is the box art for my entry and also the decal sheet front page

Hi Hermon,

I use flat acrylic paints, which are thinned out by 60 to 70% with Tamiya thinner, this gives the paint a slight eggshell finish. Once the model is completed, I take a soft clean cloth and buff the paint out to a satin finish.

Frank, I saw your spitfires in the spitfire mom, so I came searching to see where it originated. Wow! Beautiful work. I really, really like it, and like Hermon said, you did in 17 hours what it would take me...well, a much longer time to do Great work!

My status: This build has gone terribly and I am far from proud of it, but I plan on wrapping it up this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to take some clever pictures that hide most of the flaws .

Hope all is well.

OK, quite honestly not my greatest build ever, but I am calling this one done. I don't know if it is better to post more here or in aircraft forum, so I will post 1 photo here as a finished product and then post it and the other 3 photos in the aircraft forum.

1/72 hasegawa 'cat mouth' hellcat

Hope all is well.

Hi all!

Time for a "Mid-Campaign" update!

Number of participants reached meanwhile 54 ! There are still some who enlist for the Campaign. Thanks to them!
With the Campaign finishing May 31st, we have reached the second half of it with 2 months 1/2 remaining. So far 16 participants have finished their entries and 6 are in the building process... that makes 22. So we can expect 32 more!
Thanks Clanky44, MightyRhinox and Newtothegame for your entries.
Polarbear and Vanize moved to the "In Flight" section while Wizard179 appeared in the "Ready To Take Off" zone... thank you also!
As usual, if I forgot someone, just tell me... and keep the pictures coming!

You forgot EDC's big 1/48 Thunderbolt (sorry really looking forward to seeing it, so I noticed )

It's mostly together. I'm presently filling seams and preparing for painting. I'll post pictures this weekend.

Hi Baron!

Thank you for your entry!

What about some red to go with the mouth? Do you have more pictures to share? I'm curious to see the other details of your nice Helo!
I moved you to the "Landed" section!
