hanks Mike, glad you like it. Yea, I still have some cleanup to do a bit to get some issues corrected or fine tuned but overall it's done. Looking forward to seeing yours complete!

Hi all,
Here are 3 pics of my king tiger for the campaign . The building of this led to the creation of a whole dio for it to go in.

Very nice Tiger B, Rob, the camo looks most interesting. Is that a Pz 1 you have as the munitions(?) carrier?

Can I get in this? I just started a Tiger 1 about 2 weeks ago. And where is everyone getting PE engine grilles from?

Sure you can Kevin...just go back to the home page and click on to campaigns (NOT in the forum section) You will see a list of active campaigns. Click on MEOW and a file folder will come up which tells all the rules then if you look on the right side you'll see a note there that says ENLIST hit the button and you are in. When you finish post a picture or 2 of your build on this thread and I'll add you to the completed list. Awards will be posted to your profile sometime in January. HAve fun

just finished my entry this afternoon, it is the Tasca PII "Luchs" and represents a vehicle from the 2.Kp, Pz Afkl. Abt 4, Gruppe Fuher at the time of Wacht Am Rhine. It is mostly OOB except for Fruimodel tracks and Aber tool clamps. Paint is Xtracrylics and the weathering is Mig pigments and various oil washes, hope you like it.

WOW. SOme really great stuff showing up here. So far 20 folks have given me completions. Excellent. Some even working on a second entry. The variety has been amazing too. And we are stll adding recruits. I think this is going to eventually turn into one of the largest campaigns ever.

Hi folks, a little update of my (2nd) build.....
This will (I hope) become a Chilean Leopard 1V, those tanks were bought to the Netherlands, so that´s the version I wanna get.
The kit it´s the Italeri Leopard 1A2, turret armour from a recycled Revell Leo 1A1A1/A1A4, some bits from the Accurate Armour Danish Leo 1 conversion and a lot of scratch (yet to be done the left side smoke launchers).....I broke some of the resin wheels while getting them off the block, so I had to use some of the wheels of the kit, but have a funny look, isn´t it? :-)
Pics
Lot of work yet.....oh well
Cheers

That is going to be one special Leopard. I ave the original Tamiya kit. When I was active duty, this is what theGermans had, so we saw them all the time. I just did a Leopard2a6 for the Modern tank theme campaign (Greatest Ever). Man that is one gigantic turret.

My Tiger 1 in the works. I hadn't taken any pictures of it in progress untill now. Very nice kit and goes together quickly. Only thing that I ponder about is that on this design, how easy was it for the main gun to clip off the headlights if you weren't carefull? I'll get some better pics up soon, magic tracks are almost done. This is my second avf so at least I was smart enough to leave the sprockets and idler arms loose this time before building the tracks The close matching links makes it easy to get the length right. Still have a bit of a way to go. Does anyone know if the Voyager Tamiya PE grills work ok on this model?

Yay. A virgin tiger all glossed up. I am not sure what I want to do to weather it now. I want to keep it very mild. I took a little artistic license with the decals. Since I am king of the planet here I figure its ok I just have no luck with washes though and am not sure I want to do much on this one. I painted the rear exhaust with a wet 'mud' of mig rust over grey paint, then dusted with light rust and smoke. I clearcoated it but will hit it one more time with powders when its dulled. I was just thinking about some mild spot washes and a few chips with only some faint dusting. I'll touch up the tracks with some fresh rust pigment and steel wear on the shoes.

Well, so far your Tiger looks good (I should say I'm no expert on the subject).
Being a no-expert, I could make a suggestion: If I'm right, this is the DML Tiger 1 Early 3in1. I think that with this kit you can build the first 5 or 10 tanks pressed into service and I would believe those wouldn't see much crazy combat action compared to mid production or late production versions (At least the boxart Tiger is a showcase tank more than a battered veteran). So I would strongly advise not to overweather this cat, as you have yourself has planned as well. If I were you as the king of the planet, I would ease on the rust on the tracks and get some dust on the tank which really stands out on panzer grey vehicles. But my warnings, I may be completely wrong in my advice as being a no-good novice... Hopefully someone else may correct me if I'm wrong and sound foolish.

I would redo the track color using a gun-metal or burnt iron color. Then go back and highlight the track ends, centerguides and the places where the outer track has contact with the surface with a steel color. Then hit it real good with dullcoat...overall clear flat. As for weathering, I use a highly diluted color to simulate dust and at a distance, spry it lightly onto the tank concentrating more heavily on the bottom and less and less as I get near the top.

I did a very slight wash with a dark bluish grey(forget the name) and black and its super subtle. The preshading doesnt show well when glossed but its there. The mm rust tracks look funky in this light and glossed(there is a lot more black to them), I was going to overcoat them one more time with a very thin aircraft int black and a little jet exhaust(more for the metal flakes then anything). Its actually mottled rust and black but does not show here. They are not glued together yet.(the main front rear halves)
Then one more very light dust to 'set' the decals with grey, a little more mig rust on the exhaust afer dulling and maybe a light hit with some mig industrial dirt on the lower parts, but very little. I was thinking about the faintest grime around the copola and a little smoke on the rear around the exhaust. sometin like that Ugh I want to get off work so I can go play
ok edit: I repainted the tracks and am pretty happy with them now. Has the light wash and is back to dull. The lighting is terrible with my cheapo camera so the multilayering of color on the tracks is hard to see but it gives a basic idea. I just have to add some parts and all the paintwork is done. I went back and did a mild overspray on the decals again it doesn't show to well in the photo with heavy halogen lighting on it. I'm just going to do some plastruct stone road(super fun to airbrush) on an IMEX basic case for the display.
I just may have my first complete AFV model in short order!

Having photo problems, as my camera is suddenly using a different file format then it usually does. But my pictures should be ready and posted here later tonight. Do I just post them here, or did I just miss the campaign gallery when I took a look at my uploading options?

Being the 'official' thread, this is where they should be. For some reason there is a duplicate Meow thread running to0..

Finally got my computer and camera to co-operate, so her is my Leo 2A5. It is a model of a German Army test vehicle. First experience with dullcote was this weekend, so I hope it looks acceptable.
EDIT: Apparantly they show up as little red X's, so you can check them out here
http://public.fotki.com/Johnston-RCR/leopard_2a5/
Can anyone tell me why they wont show up?
