Thats a beast of a Tiger Todd I would just go back and hit the inside of the sprockets with a little mud and a touch of grime/rust on the tips of the sprockets comming through the treads-I keep forgetting to weather those too. And don't forget to paint the mg barrel. Looks great with the zim!

YAY! I actually have my first completed AFV model!
I kept weathering to a minimum with only minor smoke, rust and a touch of grime, but not much else. I may later go back and add more as I get more practice. I was trying to get the right amount of smoke, these things fart out diesel exhaust, I figure it should look simillar to the back of a city bus, even if only opperated for a very short time. But for now, she's DONE!

Lots of activity this past week. 4 new completions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Johnston-rcr. A bit unusual green color for a Leopard. Usually the color is NATO Grren which is very dark. What scheme / country were you depicting...I missed that. Kevinb120..those tracks look absolutly super. Very nicely done. Tigerbait, yours loooks great too. Ice32. The only thing I question is the red and white stakes attached to the sides. You might have more knowledge than I do. but we used those for artillery aiming stakes. Generally those would be parts of cleaning rods and you might put a couple of sticks up when you moved into and out of hidden positions just to mark the position up to make sure you aligned yourself. None of those would be candy striped Like I said, you might know more about it than my info on these brutes.

I just compared the model to the photo, and you are right it is a little bright in the pictures. The model itself is much darker in all colours. Maybe its the flash, or the light backround in a dark room, or maybe the dullcote hadn't fully dried when I took the picture.
Its supposed to be a Leopard 2A5, German Army test vehicle, in three tone-camo. As it is a test vehicle, it probably wont be weathered, it will stay "showroom" clean.
Unique kit, its from MiniHobbyModels, and is motorized. The wheels are attched with screws and are fully movable, and the tow cables on the back are actually rope, with the end peices glued on. Inside, under the turret, is space for two AA bateries, and there is a switch on the bottom to turn it on (forward motion only) and off.

Why is there another thread running alongside the 'official' thread?
And can someone request a gallery for this campaign?

Being the 'official' thread, this is where they should be. For some reason there is a duplicate Meow thread running to0..
hmm...i tink i better repost my stuff here since this is the official MEOW campaign folder...
i've decided to add a lil more kittens of my own. i've juz finish a tiger 1 early which was involved in tunisia.
its a tamiya kit painted in olive drab. i did a lil research on its coloring. according to 'Tigers in Combat 1', many of these tanks were repainted with captured stocks of U.S. olive drab.
so i decide to have a go at it. sorry about the pic quality, im using my camera phone.
and finally a farm of tigers. mine is on the left while the other 2 belong to a friend of mine.

This is the official thread folder. I do not have the technical know how to make a picture book, but what you should do if you are one of those folks that want to dsplay 20 or so pictures of your build, tell folks to look for them in your photo gallery or personal web-site. If someone knows how to set it up and wants to help the group out by setting it up, your assistance would be appreciated.
Danial...interesting fact about the OD paint on a Tiger. Never heard of it, but it sure makes sense that it would have been done.

I think the admin Gunnie has to set up the gallery per leader's request, and you determine how many photos allowed per entry or something like that? Its in the second thread about galleries in this forum.

I'm still trying to get a campaign ribbon shown. My friend Ben made a beauty which was the ribbon of an Iron Cross 2nd class with a black cat on the red field(For those of you who have been stationed in Germany and drank the cheap black cat wine with the little plastic cat hanging off the bottle). Of course he no longer participates here anymore, so if someone else can do this and teach me how to access it or get it posted i the folder. It would be appreciated. The same goes for a gallery. I persoanlly don't thnk we need one. Just post a couple of shots of your build on this thread and refer back to your photo section for those who wish to see more.

Well your campaign so its your choice, but a gallery may be easier to sort through all the people. Have everyone upload one picture there, the rest here. That way you have one photo representing every entry, instead of having to sort through all the pages on this thread. Plus people don't miss out if they accidentally post in the wrong thread.
As for the ribbon, I have no idea, so just ask any staff member. Or use the submission feature, and make sure you tell them what it is for. Im sure they would be more than willing to answer questions and help out whenever possible.

So far 20 folks have given me completions. Excellent. Some even working on a second entry. The variety has been amazing too. And we are stll adding recruits. I think this is going to eventually turn into one of the largest campaigns ever.
..... and I havent even got started yet! Its great that this campaign runs for 6 months. The last big campaigns that I remember was the Cold war ... 6 months time and had loads of entries, and bucket bonanza - M113s.
Those that like to get stuck in ... can and those who are of a slower nature... for whatever reason .... can as well!
The one thing Im most impressed with, is the amount of new "faces" that are involved. This was one of the main aims of the campiagns ... along with giving others a nudge to finish.
So only half ways through and the campaign is already a success. Congrats Steve and all those who are participating!

I have a problem. I had a DML Panther D in my stash, but I suddenly came in possession of a TW full interior. There's no way in hell I can finish that till December. (I didn't even dare to touch it so far...)
I am, however, finishing a 1/72 DML Bergentuger. Does that qualify?

Andras
A Bergtiger certainly qualifies in my book. It is after all a member of the Tiger tank family and a Tiger is a big cat. So, build on my friend.

nicely done Aythan. I lke the way you weathered the top and sides of the vehicle. Looks like a tank that has been out for a while and had to deal with both dust and rain like in real life.

Nice work Atoplu
Wish I still had mine but it met with an accident will I was still building, A clock fell off the wall and the suspension arms including wheels went to the four corners of the carpet monster With most arms and wheels either broken or missing it went for spares. (The clock also went for spares after I finished with it)

Hi gang,
My entry is now complete - Dragon 1/72 King Tiger OTB. Nice build except those tracks is it only me or do others have problems with Dragons tracks ie. their too short!
The flash on the camera makes the weathering look a lot lighter than it is.

Aythan....the cables connecting all the IR stuff look absolutly marvelous. I thin if the kit were mine, the only thng I could think to change / add would be grill screens to the back engine covers
Luciano..glad you clarified the mud...it looks pink on my screen. Looks good just a slightly strange color frm the picture.
