Two shots of the Bergetiger in 1/72. I had it masked and sprayed the base color, but had not have the chance to take photos.
The PE chain is not really convincing, and the crane was real tough to assemble.

update: I started assembling the individual tracks. They are tough in 1/72. Anyone drilling them up, to make them workable?

I've got that Dragon 35th scale Bergtiger that I'll get around to building someday. Hopefully it will be a bit less difficult than the one you are working on.

It's not difficult, but some parts could come together better. The suspension should have locating pins, for example to line them up perfectly, yet, when I attached the wheels, they weren't all sitting on the ground... I'll have to put it on a little base.
(The crane really was a little pain in the neck, because you have to build it from 3 parts, and hold them all together.)
But it's a fun build.

Well it's almost the end of October now. 2 months left on the campaign. So far I have 30 folks that have reported finishing their projects. Still plenty of time left, even if you haven't started yet. Just grab one of those Tamiya 48th scale shake and bake kits. They really build into nice models that I know you'll be pleased with.

A few photos of the my bergetiger. Aside from the tracks it's getting ready. Filters will be added, dust, some really minor sratches, and it's done. (I don't like to put too much dirt on my stuff.) The tracks will probably take a millenia to asemble. (The final push to buy this kit was the tracks. I've never worked with link and length tracks in 1/72. Now I know why.)
I really like silly putty for masking. So far it's been the best method.

Well, i'm calling 'er done. This is my finished kitty. DML's Panther "A" Late. Very nice kit! Comes with metal barrel and PE grills. Installed Atak's Zimmerit resin upgrade which turned out quite nice. Enjoy!

Looks great! the Atak sets absolutely rock Tracks look great and the markings over the zim look awesome Might want to mark up the sprocket teeth just a bit so they don't poke through the tracks in perfect color. Just a little chipping/metalic scraping on them will make em look good. Try to make the wear fairly consistant on each tooth.

If that were my cat on the tank, the tank would be covered in hair

MEOW*****MEOW !!!!! You get the daily double on this one. A panther tank and a kitty cat. Nice touch. I think everyone is discovering that using the Atak or Cavalier zimmerit is just so much easier and it just looks more accurate as well. I agree with the chipping comments and the only thing I'll add without kicking over the anthill here is a reference to the blackened muzzle end which I know really is modeler's choice in the scheme of things

that is a shades of gray question. I know you got a bunch of work done on the Sturmtiger. Just depends on what all you did on the Jagdpanther. PM me with EVERYTHING you did on it and I'l make a decision. Also let me know everything done on the Sturmtiger....maybe the 2 in conjuncture will equal 1

Ive finaly finished that 1/16 RC Tiger that I satarted last July. This is my second MEOW contribution and I hope it would be accepted. The tri-color camo scheme is fictional as well as the unit number, but I have based it on one of the only 3 known Tiger 1 early models that have been outfitted with zimmerit. This is one big and heavy Radio Controled tank made by a brand called Hongwell which is a cheap copy of the Tamiya original. It runs well on outdoors grass as well as indoors carpet and yes Steve (blaster76) it is good in chasing down my pet cats and dogs around the house :-) The zimmerit is Miliput on most parts and Testors putty on some parts. Added two scracth built S mine dispensers thats made out of ballpen caps and added a few bandadge dressing for foliage to make a tougher look Weathering was oil wash then dry brushed the three diferent colors on the tank, as well as a few Mig pigment dusting. Comments all welcome and please be gentle on the critics

Hey Andy,

a most excellent looking Tiger, and one i have built myself, got to love those charging knight decals.

Couple of things i noticed, iis the grey patches around the rear turret escape hatch chipped zim? The other thing is minor, but according to the pictures i have seen 312 had ditchign beams on both sides and not just one side. Really though that is just me nit picking and really you have produced a very good tiger...congrats!!

Hi Eth
Thanks mate
yes the grey patches are chipped zim(they seem to stand out more in pics?) I have read several different veiws about what colour it should be ,either grey or red oxide primer,I plumped for grey
The other beam fell off ,er, in a ditch :-) :-)
Andy

P.S
I love the knights too,Tiger II in the stash...............

It does seem to "jump out at you", the grey, maybe if needs a wash to tone it down? I would suggest the colour looks to be too uniform and that is why if jumps out. Perhaps you could tone it done a bit with a wash or a filter?

I loved the large scale RC Tiger 1. If I had had one of those when my dog was alive he would of nailed it. Anything that moved and made a noise he figured was either a toy or something he had to defend me from. I set up some electric trains once using that new carpet track. Boom !!! he jumped it, of course it stopped moving and "growling " when it was off the track so he figured he killed it and saved me from it :-) :-) At least until I put it back on the track again. This time I got a hold of his collar so he barked and barked at it. That was one brave dog. The only thing I ever saw rattle his cage was thunder and firecrackers.

OH and Torchy..great job. I've still got that kit in the stash. I've got the special Cavalier zimm set for mine other wise OOB..of course OOB on that kit is something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Gareth welcome to the MEOW Campaign. One thing you should know this campaign is only for AFV's that have a name that has a feline nature. Not sure a Warrior would fit in there, might be best to check with the campaign leader before you enter it.

Finally got around to posting some images of my Panther A late. Construction is complete, just the painting and weathering. I left myself less time than I had planned, but with nothing else on the workbench at the moment, it should be no problems to have this finished up before the end of the campaign.
See HERE for images and more information.

Hi

Here is my first entry into one of the campaigns at Armorama. It is the ESCI Jadgpanther in 1/72. It was the only kit I could get hold of in Latvia that fulfilled the criteria for the campaign.

I have recently moved from Denmark to Latvia and has found that hobby supplies are more difficult to get hold of than I thought. Therefore the model has been finished with the paint at hand. Future models for the new campaigns in 2007 will be better when I get all the supplies I have ordered over the internet and get my airbrush and compressor moved to Latvia from Denmark. Anyway enough excuses - here is the model ;o)

Hello Gentlemen, The posted tanks all look very good. I am building an early version Jagdpanther and cannot decipher whether the rear tailpipe on the left(looking from rear) used the 3 pipe version, the one pipe version or if both were used on the early model at various stages of manufacturing. The models instructions are very vague in addressing which set up was more common with the early model. I also have not been able to find any decent photos online of an early Jagdpanther from the rear view. If someone could let me know I would appreciate it! I am scrambling to get the model built. It was a long year with lots of overtime and I may not get the Beast built in time but I am trying.
