A week or so ago, we ran a Report on a W.I.P. from Masterbox of the first of the company's New 'theme' - Infantry in the Western Desert. Now, another set from the company - German Afrika Korps Innfantry.
The New set will be:

3593 - DAK, German Infantry, WWII, North Africa Desert Battles

There will be six figures in the set - an Officer and five infantrymen. Once again, the figures are designed in very animated manner. Also, as is the release/design policy from Masterbox, the figures are designed to be complementary to the others in the same series, or, if so wished, as stand-alones.

We've also been given a glimpse to the future plans of the company within the 'Desert Battles' series. Three more sets are planned which will be:

3579 - Italian Infantry,

3580 - British Infantry Attacking

3587 - DAK, German Mortarmen

Finally, a set which is under development as we speak will include, for the first time EVER in Styrene, A Commowealth Heavy Weapon set - the Vickers HMG is within the company's development schedule.

Once again, our thanks to our colleagues at Masterbox Ltd. for the Update!

I am over the moon to hear that finally, finally, there is going to be a CW heavy weapon set available. It's been long past overdue. In addition to the Vickers I really hope they include the 3" and 4.2" mortars. Masterbox continue to impress. Chris LINK

Very cool indeed! Julien-I like the idea of Free French Forces...I've always been interested in the French Forces especially the French Foreign Legion. If anyone has the guts to think "outside the box" it's Masterbox........no pun intended. Jeff

This terrific news and the possibililty of a Vickers and Crew has been so long over due, this will be a major addition to the Commonwealth troops. Agree with Chris 4inch and 3inch mortars next please Can we add some medics/wounded troops to the list please Hats off to them for these developemnts. - Simply steps ahead! Al

I agree with Chris and Alan...a Vickers is long overdue and hopefully we'll see a few versions on that theme...desert and NWE, early and late versions ( BEF maybe?) 3'' and 4.2'' mortars welcome but also 2'' would be great. I thought with Miniarts latest figures they might work towards this first but I like Masterbox stuff too. Nice Martyn
