Hobby Boss have just sent us their 2011 catalogue. Now obviously not as extensive as that of Trumpeter but with an equal number of surprising and long-wished for releases.
Once again, the Modern enthusiast is very much the 'winner' with the announced releases. The Land Rover 'Wolf' has been well-covered here, although it doesn't end there. Once again, i'll split it into time-periods, beginning with WWII:

All releases are 1/35th scale unless indicated...

82444 - German VK4502 (P) Vorne

82445 - German VK4502 (P) Hintern

82451 - U.S: M3a1 White Scout Car (Early Production)

Onto the main course - the 1/35th scale Modern Releases:

82446 - Land Rover Defender 'Wolf' with WMIK

82446 - Land Rover Defender 110 with Hard Top

82463 - ZTZ 96 MBT

82480 - German Boxer MAPV

82481 - 63-2 APC

82482 - YW531C APC

82483 - ZBD 05 IFV

82484 - ZTD 05

82485 - PTL 02

82486 - ZBL 09 IFV

82487 - PLL 05

82488 - AFT 9

83466 - BJ2022JC Yong Shi

83467 - Dongfeng Meng Shi ('Chinese Humvee')

83472 - ZSD 89 APC

83473 - ZSD 90 IFV

83474 - CV90-40 IFV

83475 - CV90-40C IFV

Finally, the real star of the show. First time in injection-moulded styrene...

85505 - M1070 Tank Transporter

A VERY heavy emphasis on the PLA which can only be good news for the future of the hobby. If Chinese subjects are generating interest in mainland China then this is great news for OTHER subjects.

Our grateful thanks to Hobby Boss for the Updates!

Oh, I'm reading it, Jim!!! HEEEEE-HAAAAAH! I gotta get on Ebay and start selling some of that rare blood of mine!!! Man, I wonder what this puppy is going to cost --- guess the big factor will be whether it comes with the trailer... It's GOTTA have a trailer, right? Otherwise, it's like having a slice of pizza without a Coke! Either way, it'll still be cheaper than AA's awesome-looking resin offering... Well, M75, in answer to your question: I think I'm the only one with a five year old in the house, so I would bet the farm that it would be YOU building it first!! I'm in no rush to see it out as I'll have to save up my paper route money for it... Also want that Landrover with WMIK and an LIC Merkava IV if HB comes out with one, not to mention the RAMS AAVP-7 EAAK, Tasca M4A3E2 etc. etc. AARGH! Man, this is literally and figuratively a BIG release --- so many things you can do with it!! Hope all is well, Jim! Regards and Aloha, Johnny B.

Wow. Like many others, I am pleasantly surprised and excited about HET coming out. Kinda scared of what the price tag is gonna be however. Around $150 USD maybe? Either way, lots of great subjects rolling out by HB. Good stuff. It's a feast, and a bigger list for Santa. Hopefully, old school players like DML, Academy, AFV Club, and Tamiya will have new things in their sleeves for 2011, too. Take that HET in your face!

Wasted effort. Most people (by this I mean your average joe modeler) will buy the HB kit cos it will be easier to get hold of and cheaper. And in any case I doubt HB give a damn that CH has released this, HB can take a hit on this cos the revenue these other modern releases (which lets face it Dragon will never do) will more than make up for any lost revenue to CH on that panzer thing (yawn) And my comment on the modern stuff-WOW, best news this year after the Bronco M1114, now I can build that Oshkosh guntruck.
Well, this morning, DML have obviously been rattled by the announcement as their in-house shill has posted this: Wonderful!

Wonderful!
To be fair, while this guy is a serious jerk, I will probably pick up the cyber Hobby version myself. I like HB kits but Dragon stuff still has the edge in detailing. Matt

Hi Guys, While surfing the images over at Prime Portal, I was looking at the Hobby Boss page and found this: Interestingly enough this is not the WMIK, but a US Rangers Special Operations Vehicle, two fully loaded vehicles can be loaded on a Chinook. Other variants include a Mortar Carrier and a Medical version. Good news for many, very bad news for wallets and bank balances! Regards Brian

I just bought the US Het Accurate Amour kit in resin, now it comes out in plastic what am I going to do.Well maybe the HB one will give me a chance to see where everything goes with some good instructions and has any heard if the HET will have and interior cab if not maybe AA will do a aftermarket kit to use and go with the HB kit. But at least will have better instructions because we all know resin instructions really don't go into detail you need really good references. So that's the positive thing I get out of it besides I can now build a HET with different loads and not have to just use the AA kit as a base. I can buy the HB HET and load it and build the kit more then once. Happy Modeling William DeCicco
