Woohoo! Thank you Big A for the excellent SBSs on this site!

So this is the diorama my 234/1 was going to be in...but life sometimes interrupts modelling. Oh well.

So this is my White-washed entry.

and sorry for all the deleted posts....won't happen again.

Well, I knew I was being too ambitious signing up for this campaign so late in the game.

I've been hit with several weekends of overtime work in a row and facing yet another, so this is as far as I have managed to get despite not working on any other models since signing up for this campaign:

(Note the thrown track on the left side as per the photo I posted before of the white washed Sturer Emil)

But I don't think I can possibly manage to finish this before the end of the month. Oh well.

That's my entry. Hope you like it. I wanted to have a nice dio to go with it, but it just didn't work out. Time was definately an issue. Term papers, tests, etc... I apologize for the lighting. It is about 1:15 in the morning right now and I am using a desk lamp! I will try to get some better pics, but I wanted to upload it now due to the fact that I am going to a lacrosee tourny at about 7am. Sorry upfront. Thanks for looking!

Hi all,

Here's my entry so far. Almost finished......things left to do are some pin washes, a bit of rust and a bit of fresh mud and snow!

As usual more in my campaign thread

I should be able to get it finished just in time

@ Mike - nice one - I've always liked Flakvierlings.
@ Martin - white wash looks really good. I have a question a little . How are you achieving so repeatable lighting on your pictures? What king of lamp do you use (it seems that it does not affects color perception).

Well actually the only lamp that is available for all living creatures on this planet:

I don't have a nice photo studio so I can only take decent pics during the day. If needed I can make small adjustments with photoshop, but only to make the model look as it is in real, not to make it look nicer than it is I sometimes use it when a picture has i.e. too much light and contrast or details are lost because of this.

except for Arif’s - his T34 obviously has some oil leakage Arif, you have to fix it

hahaha.. thanks andrzej, oil leakage is my imagination for T-34 after used in battle ground.
so any oil leak from the engine.

@ Martin... unfortunately when I'm back home from work sun is usually seting already... All I can do is make pictures during the weekends
@ Arif - seeing this kind of leakage I'd really start to worry about my engine.... Anyway, it looks very good - it really has a look and texture of oil.

I've spent last two evenings trying to apply wet look of mud at my diorama and Marder... Now I'm at work so only thing I can do is to prepare some title plaque for a diorama.

Same here mate, same here....
Yesterday I was home during the day so I could take the pics but that's quite rare. In fact it's quite rare if I'm at home at all, somehow I manage to fill my agenda will of sorts of things except for a little bit of time for myself in my own house

Oh well, that's life I guess

THE END IS NEAR ....

MARCH 31st - the date when White-Washed Campaign ends

I'd like to remind about the end of the campaign.

So far no one has asked for short extention so I can assume that all of you will manage to upload at least one picture of finished model to campaign's gallery before the deadline.

Good luck!

What a great gallery. There are so many fantastic entries. Surely testament to a well run campaign, Marcin!

Looking forward to the very cool ribbon. Cool = cold = winter = whitewash, get it?

well, I'd ask for an extension if I thought a few days would make a difference, but unless work lets up on me in the near future, it won't. A couple weeks might do it, but that isn't really a short extension.

Hopefully I won't be the first to do so. I am hoping to finish my project up today or tomorrow. I had to delay finishing it. However I am certain that I will get it completed it time. If I do need an extension it would only need to be an extra day or two.

I was actually able to do a little work on my project last night. I wasn't really happy with the white-wash results. However I should be able to touch it up and finish it by tomorrow. So I should have a photo of the finished project posted by the deadline.

Here is my finished white-washed PzKpfw 35-H. I just barely finished it in time for the end of the campaign.

I wanted to show a vehicle that had a worn white-wash look to it. I also added a small amount of mud to the running gear. I didn't want to over do the mud. I wanted it to look as if it had been operating on an established road. I didn't do much else as far as weathering goes other than some light rust in a few areas.

The white-wash I used is just plain chalk that I made into a powder and mixed with water.

Thanks for the campaign Marcin, I enjoyed it.

@Martin - it seems that MIG pigments do the job . Effect is... well... dirty . Very nice one (and the idea of using Russian tracks as additional shield was hitting nail in the head )
@ HARV - nice one! I thought about same technique (with a chalk) but I did not give it a try - I was affraid that it will fall off after getting dry as a big white cloud

Andrzej - Love the Marder, and you've done a super job on the weathering. Your dio came out excellent, very nicely executed. Where did the crew go?...lol. I imagine you probably ran short of time like I did. Again though, most excellent work.

Martin - Outstanding PzKpfw IV. This really turned out well. That 'Class' really paid off as the weathering, white-wash, detailing came out masterfully. Especially like the mud effects.

HARV - Another most excellent entry. Really made the PzKpfw 35-H stand out. You've done an excellent job bringing out the worn white-wash.

Marcin - As others have said, thanks for your time, support, and organizational skills. This was an outstandingly run and supported Campaign. A credit to you, sir. Well, in between Baseball League business and baseball practices, I got my entry done this weekend. I decided about half way through the Campaign to switch from the Tiger I (Mid) I had planned on using to the JagdPanther (Late) that I was also working on. I took advantage of the opportunity to "white-wash" over a poor camo job I had started. To be honest, there are still a couple of minor touches to do (minor details, add a couple more tools) but I'm calling it done for the Campaign. The dio is supposed to show the JagdPanther as having taken a hit to the left front track area, driver was killed (why only 4 of crew shown), crew is 'bailing out', and some Panzergrenadiers are providing covering fire for the crew escape. The dio is small, hurried somewhat to complete, and I fear too crowded so I'm planning on shifting to a larger base later. Hope it comes across alright. My first 'white-wash' attempt so I left it less worn til I master the technique better as Andrzej, Martin, and HARV have shown. Thanks again for a great Campaign and here my entry:

Comments and suggestions always welcomed. Thanks,

Here are the pictures of my completed Finland T-28 (finally!) I had to add the blue line to the right hand storage bin...then try to blend it in with the rest of the tank.

I really enjoyed building this model, and it was MUCH easier to build than ICMs T-35. higher quality parts, and much better running gear and tracks. Thanks again for running this Campaign! It got this model out of the box and onto the shelf!

Today is the last day, right? Why is the campaign showing up in the "Past" category, then?
(I have yet to upload my photo. Since the "big" project was not finished in time, I'll enter the 1/72 trial instead... I'll get to it as soon as I get home.)

Mike, thank you very much for your opinion. You're not exacty right when guessing that I did not have time to make the crew - I've done two figures far before the rest of model and diorama - somehow they did not fit to a rest of diorama... I think that sometimes it is better to put less stuff on a diorama than to overload it... (I think I'll use these two figures on another diorama - after small repainting of faces one of them may look like showing the other guy something extremly funny and laughing ).
Thanks again for your opinion, I'm very glad you like my work!

Concernig your own work - I do like the layout of your diorama. You've done also great work with the tracks - I've just seen a picture with Panter tank with tracks damaged and laying in exactly same way . I very like the figures of soldiers helpin wounded friends to get out of the damaged vehicle.

@ Steve-o - very interesting model with very interesting painting scheme! Tanks with more than one tower and with so many of additional guns always remind me a hedgehogs (but as Nanny Ogg used to sing: "Hedgehog can never be buggered at all" ). Blue lines give very nice look to a whole vehicle. BTW, which company is producer of this model?
Great job!

Andrzej
