Great stuff people. Too many things to reply to all. Quickly:

@Andrzej: Stunning work! Truly outstanding. Can't wait to see more.
@William: Very convincing work there. Great fit and weathering on that suspension. Kudos!

Keep up the good stuff guys. This is really inspiring!

At long last the kit I'll be building for this campaign arrived in the mail (Tristar PzKpfw 38(t) ausf E/F). After a cursory look in the box, it truly looks like an amazing kit. Hopefully some progress shots in the coming days.

You're really going to like the kit. I reviewed the kit a while back and posted a build log if you're interested. I did mine in a winter whitewash scheme with the 19th Panzer Division, Russia 1942. The quality and fit of the parts is excellent! I hope you enjoy building yours as I did with mine.

Here are the links if you're interested.

Thanks Scott. These have been read already, and are actually for a good part in my choosing this kit!

Cheers!

I'm looking forward to watching your build. I was (and still am) tempted to get another one and do it in a dark gray scheme.

My appologies for not getting more involved in this campaign. Usually, I do get involved, but I have been rehabbing a house, moving, and trying to find some free time to model all at the same time! From what I have seen, you guys really built some killer kits with loads of detail! Had i had more time with mine, I would have added a few more details myself. Being primarily a modern builder, I had to research this one a lot to make sure I got the details right (I nevertrust the kit box and instructions!). Despite not being my normal theatre of building, I really enjoyed this one. So, without further ado, here is my finished "Katjusha" (with and ...........

Great rocket-hurling Ivan-truck you got there, Gary!!
I can not help but admire the simplicity in design and the effectiveness in action on the real thing..
And what a different appearance a variation in paint can give. I recently saw Jesper's version and it looked totally different.....

As for my build, I am currently struggleing with the tracks.
At first I put the original ones aside quickly and went for a set I had been given. It had brown plastic tracks and black vinyl pads. And now I know why I got them for free!! These 2 components just don't work together. I don't know what brand they're from or who designed them, but my advise is:"Stay away from 'em!!"
I even found some glueresidu on some of them, so it's not just me....
That's why I am back on the original ones. I found a way of dealing with the initial problem. I'll show some pictures when they're done.

The Dragon kit is a really quick build. It only needs a few things to spruce it up. The mud flaps are from scratch, as is the aerial mount.

The travel lock has been reworked to show it in a stowed position.

Great looking Katusha, Gary. The whitewash looks very good.

I am glad to see I am not the only one painting the rockets silver with black rear part.

Thanks for sharing

here's some extra information I gathered:

For all the halftrack-builders and -lovers, I gathered a lot of information on these vehicles here:

Excellent info and pictures, Ron. Thanks for sharing it

Here is my finished Pz. Jg. I. This is my second build for this campaign with the Marder II being the first build. So I guess I am double trouble for the Soviet panzers
The kit is the (very) old 1/35 Italeri/Zvezda offering based on the old venerable Italeri Pz. I. It is a little difficult to turn into something nice as the fit is less than perfect and the tools need replacement. However, overall it is a decent kit and I am quite satisfied with the result. I feel like turning a sows ear into a silk purse

Comments welcome.

nice jesper I like the wet look mud and gun deck. Is it possible to make a rain drenched look? A gloss goat would just make everything look odd. Maybe a gloss/satin pin wash in "damp" areas might work never really seen one done before.

Exhaust turned out well too.

Cool model Jesper, I like it much. Especially those canvas's and exhaust. Your sandbacks looks bit too much like flat rocks to me, and tracks on them look unrealistic, maybe brown washes would make them look better. Some rust maybe too if they have been laying there for while.

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments, Guys. I really appreciate it.

Tuomas, you might be right about the sandbags. The sandbags could have some more texture. The size seems right though - it is the Pz. Jg. I that is small

The size is ok. You also could have mouth that has been tied up on your sandbacks. Where did you make them? If you make them from some kind of filler or such, press them with any cloth, so their surface wouldnt be so smooth

The sIG 33 is nearly complete. I still need to add stowage and finish the weathering.

Excellent work as usual, Jesper! Agree, the sandbags could have used a bit of texture from fabric or sandpaper, but they give the model more life just the way they are.

Looking great, William, love the coloring and camo. Can't wait to see more!

Better get off my butt and get back to work on the Marder III M, before I forget what I'm building for this campaign

Beautiful work Bill as usual !!

I love that paint job. Love it !!

Looking forward to seeing it finished - I may even get mine out some time.

Is all that you've added the fenders then ?

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for the tips on the sandbags, guys. I will try it on my next panzer with sandbags.

William, excellent job on the SiG 33. The camouflage and subtle weathering looks great. Looking forward to see it finished.

@Jesper: Your Pz.Jg.1 surely has improved with the changes you made. Good work!
Tuomas: Your KV looks great, Tuomas. There's something about the machinegun though. it doesn''t look quite right.
@William: That's one mean looking machine!! awesome! The camo is very well done.

Yeah I know. It had only basecoat of gray on while I protographed, Seems like I forgot to paint it .But now it has been drybrushed with gunmetal and wooden parts painted. Pictures to come soon!
@William Very nice, thats one model I have been looking for a while.

Thanks, Ron. I appreciate it. I also feel the finishing touches added a lot to the model, although as always, there is room for improvement.
