Well, ladies and gents! It´s done. My input for this campaign is finished finally... My special thanks to Jacques and his DML SU-100 build blog, got some useful tips from there because after all these two have the same upper hull. Sorry about guite poor pics..... crappy camera and lightning.

Grabhandels, towingcable and "hooks" on hullside and sidefenders are selfmade. Also I used some parts from Eduard PE set. Tracks are Friul.

Neat job Kimmo! I really like the look of SU's, I think they have the right amount of ugliness that make them actually attractive

Nice work Kimmo. Seems like we are getting more and more projects finished as the days click by...which is a good thing considering that's what the campaign is for! Again, nice build and congrats on finishing. Got any others you want to finish? There's plenty of time.

Thanks for feedback guys, always appreciated. That was my only model, which had been hanging on, Matthew, so no other(s) expected. Now I´m working with my project for "What if" campaign, so let´s stay in touch over there. I´m just pretty much annoyed, that my camera can´t take any closer photos, eventhough I have macro function on. All the chipping work and dust on hull is almost impossible to see.

BTW, how or when, can I get that campaign ribbon? Sorry, noob talk...

Here's mine:

I started this for some other campaign - Eastern Front I think. It's the Italeri Kublewagon in 72nd scale.

One of my figures.

I'm almost finished now, more pics soon.

… the lone survivor of a recent battle stumbles upon a body from last summer – now half covered in snow.

Very close now - just have to finish painting the dead figure in the snow and add the tree and some leaf litter I made.

Great work on that Hummer Q !! liked the sniper rifle detail !
I have a few waiting for this one:
- JSU-152 (waiting for weathering )
- Panzer I (waiting for hull, turret, tracks..)
- Faun Transporter (trailer and gooseneck details missing and weathering)
- Pz2000 (almost everything--- just wheels and suspension build)
- An-71P (Wings and engine & interior done)
- An-12 BK (Just the interior is complete and the 4 engines)

I guess these will make a "Get the Job Done part III" and "Get the Job Done - The Comeback" Campaigns too...ehehe
I restarted the Panzer I and might give a little push on the JSU-152 too, I wish I could get my hands dirty on the Faun transporter too.

Thanks for a great campaign !

@Q: great looking Hummer! Jobwell done. As for the sniperrifle; maybe put it across the bonnet, resting at the frontal protecting bars (what do you call these things? Bullbar?) and add a sling to it? The way the rifle is now, looks a bit strange.
@Kimmo: Nice SU-100! I last saw a SU-122 in Luxemburg for real and these are some might frightening looking beasts!! At least from a receiving infantry point off view!
@ Mr Andersom: gruesom looking little scene, but a true thing at the Ostfront, I believe.
Very good sculpting, given the minute sieze!

As for my builds; I keep on taking them apart more and more, instead of putting them back together and finishing them!
The M3 has been completely stripped now, but I managed to get some work done on the Sd.Kfz 250/8. I'll post some pics later.

Hi Ron!
Actually it´s SU-85m but those two tanks are so close to eachother, that you can easily be mistaken. The only main difference is gun mantlet. Anyway, thanks for feedback, always appreciated.

Matt

I'm in - just signed up.

In age order 4+ years on the shelves - packed when I transferred and then 'forgotten':

1/48 Dragon Ju88A-4 - a kit that has nearly flown a few times
1/350 Tamiya Prince of Wales plucking up the courage to do the 6 colour cammo pattern she was wearing when sunk
1/16 Trumpeter T34-76 - need to wire the engine and then complete painting
AFV Scheunter - 88mm A/T gun - absolute pig of a kit with the spqaced frontal armour.

More recent kits:

1/48 Accurate Miniatures Avenger - needs decalling and finishing the painting
2 x 1/16 figures to go with T-34 - need repaintig
1/35 Tamiya Horch needs painting
1/35 Tamiya Churchill must be in a box somewhere about half done

And of all things - tonight I have just finished the Academy M3 "Honey" which has been lazing on my bench for the last 10 months. Got it finished before I signed up so I can't claim that one.

I'll try and get a few pics up shortly and see how far I can get before Christmas.

Here are the pics, as promised.
This is what I started off with;

This is what it looks now;
I started experimenting with the ammobin.
I saw several sollutions for the ammoproblem in this cramped vehicle, but none seemed logical to me. This is what I came up with, a similar solution as the Sd.Kfz. 251/22

I also re-attached the tracks, which had to be put together from original parts and sparesboxparts.

I also came up with an idea to create a setting to put the vehicle in.
It is supposed to show a vehicle, being camopainted in the field. A little accident happened and one of the crew got covered it the paint.
This is the initial idea:

On the other hand, I am building a Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse for the Might 88-campaign. I had no idea what to do with it, so I added it to the scene, making it look like this;
Scene 1;

Scene 2;

Everything you see comes from the sparesbox; figures, equipment, etc.

Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself. I found this website earlier last week and got me interested in building again. I bought an M2A2 Bradley last December painted the wheels and has been untouched until last night. Hopefully, I can use that for this campaign.

Thanks,
Tony

Brian and Tony, Welcome and thanks for joining the campaign. You have plenty of time to finish your build(s) and be awared that coveted ribbon Glad you both decided to join the ranks. The more the merrier I say. Good looking diorama thus far Ron. I like the second layout with the Hornisse better as there is a little more going on. You could still have the paint accident included and it would fit right in. Sort of a story within a story if you will. Keep at it folks.... There's only 6 months left before the deadline. Have fun. Ron, I like the second diorama lay out better as well. The diorama looks better with both the Sd.Kfz. 250 and the Hornisse. Scene two is best - especially since the vehicles are not parallel to each other.

Looking forward to see more.

This last weekend I finished one of the builds planned, the JSU-152, it was the one that needed less work.. still to come::

- Faun Transporter, trailer, gooseneck details and weathering...
- Pz2000, suposed to be on the Faun, only the wheels and suspension build so far.

At least these I hope to finished this year..
pics soon, batteries ran out last night while taking some shots for an Aeroscale campaign

Well, I haven't been doing much on vehicles or figures this time.
I concentrated on the basework instead.
As you could see, I made a single slab of wallfiller and I carved a pattern into it, representing a Marketsquare, somewhere in a town in Europe.
In progress;

Overall view;

Detailshot;

Then I got to work with the painting.
First I gave the entire plate a wash with a dilluted mix of black, white and blue. The main purpose of that was to fill in the cuts between the stones.
This allready created a sort of 3D effect on its own, which I further enhanced by successive layers and drybrushes of grey, mixed with browns, greens, whites and at last yellow ochre. It is quite hard to see on the pictures, but the differences are visible. The place I will be putting the vehicles on did not receive the drybrushes with the white and the ochremix, so they are darker (shade).

When everything has dried I will add little stones, sand etc etc.

Ron

Excellent work on the cobblestone base. Maybe I can use it to show off this Churchill

I left this one alone a few years ago now - I think I was a bit disillusioned with the torn track and just abandoned it. Looking at it now I think that I can squeeze the tear and the join on the upper run under the guards and out of view. I have given it the once over and I see that some obscure part is missing so I will have to scratch it (looks like a cleaning rod or something similar mounted on the rear deck), and the other track has a severe crack in it as well - just hasn't broken yet.

This is the Tamiya Mark VII with the farmer and wine bottles - I see that the cart has been built and primed. So basically it is the tracks and figures to go then some weathering and a base.

Hi Matt,

I am in too....got a Dragon operation cobra Sherman (1yr) and AFV Sturm Tiger sitting around for way way too long (2yrs plus!!!!) half built....but I will probably get to finish 1 if I am lucky, considering its my first Father's day (new baby girl) and the work load in office....

I always find Dragon kits good to buy but hard to build, AFV clubs are equally daunting to me too.

Cheers

Brian & Kiong, welcome aboard. I feel your paint with the Churchill tracks. I had the same thing happen to one of my Tamiya Panthers, only it broke in two locations so I had a three section track. There was no hiding the breaks, so I opted for a set of old Modelkasten tracks and replaced the entire set.......after it had been completed.
I can also sympathise with the Dragon and AFV club kits being fun to buy and hard to build. Recently built the AFV SdKfz 251/17 and I swear there were more parts in the gun than the entire rest of the vehicle.
Thanks again for joining the campaign guys. Its looking like I will be awarding several ribbons based on what I have seen so far. Keep at it.
Thanks, "Q"

Kiongs, Congrats on the baby. I have two daughters. I got a Tamyia Jeep MB kit for Father's Day yesterday.

Below is picture of all the further I got on my M2A2 Bradley before I quit building in January. I need to get it done before starting anything else.
