Hi folks!
I have just enlisted the campaing. I hope you don't mind...
I have a Pz.kpfw. III ausf N (on the M chasis) to finish. i have started it at least a year or so ago and can't finish it... I think it would be a good motivation to do it within this campaign. Do I have to start my own buildblog or just post my progress in this thread?

Landon, welcome aboard. Your Abrams is looking about ready for paint. I delved into 1/72 for a long while, and it still draws my interest every now and then. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Ron, great looking 250/8. Haven't seen many of these built. Definitley a nice change.
I feel your pain Andras. Been there done that. I used to do this quite a bit, then finally just dove in and used it as a learing tool. Used the same kit over and over again to try differing weathering techniques. Finally had to toss the kit as there were multiple coats of paint, pigments, washes, etc. encrusting it. I did learn a lot though so it was well worth sacrificing the old kit.
Michal- Thanks for joining my band of merry men on our journey Looking forward to seeing your work and progress. Just post your progress here in this thread. Thanks again for joining. Keep up the great work guys, and remember to have some fun. "Q"

Really nice! (For me this is the dangerous part. I usually just stop saying why risking screwing up all this work with the risky steps of weathering. )

Thanks Matthew!
and I did finish it too!!!
I wanted it to have a sloppy paintjob, done by a uninterested trooper.
Weathering is kept very light, as it is supposed to be a failry new vehicle, being camo-painted it the field.
Here's what it turned out like;
the vehicle's left side;
it's right side;
and the hood, gun and bucket of paint;

Thanks to this campaign finished my other project while I was painting for paint on the Bradley to dry. Could not resist to take the picture. GODZILLA VS the BRADLEY Of course, nothing is too scale.
Apologizes re: picture clarity. My cell phone does not do such a great job.

Thanks, Q!
I've been looking at my build for some time and somehow I think the paintjob looks "toy-like".
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I could get it to look more realistic??

I was wondering if I could join up on the campaign. I started making a flakturm Karl (February I think, or March...) but have just left it be after I screwed up the paintjob (lousy enamel dots) and the front of the turret with the guns. So I'm hoping even though it's been made relatively recent, I'm wanting to do a short remake/ repair and finish the darn thing up. Will it work? If not that's fine too.

I did do some last touch ups on my 250/8.
I added some more washes, some drybrushes and redid the "paintjob" so it looks more like a brushed on paintcoat.
I think the extra work paid off and consider this one done!
And with the accompanying figure for the dio later on;

Congrats on the completion Ron. Looking forward to seeing the diorama. Glad you have enjoyed the campaign John. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your completions..hint, hint. Keep at it folks. We still have several months ahead with which to build. I'm going to be taking a break here before too long. Got a lot on my plate and I need to take care of business at home. I'll keep tabs on the campaign though. Thanks again for your efforts to make the campaign as successful as it has been thus far.

Here is my T26E3 from Tamiya. It sat on my workbench for some time until I got motivated for the 2008 Orange Con show.

Just an update on my Churchill - the track finally broke in two so I managed to fix it with a couple of staples. Fortunately with the way the Churchill is set up the top run of the tracks is hidden and luckily the rubber band track join and the stapled join are both hidden by the upper hull.
I have tried a "new" technique (to me) that is the oil dot method of breaking the monotone colour. I experimented on the sides of the turret and while I wasn't overly excited with the finish when I did it yesterday, today it doesn't look too bad. I might give it another swipe with the thinner dampened brush to see if I can tone it down a bit more.
Glutton for punishment that I am, I tried something else new to me as well - that is Mig pigments mixed with thinners. (In the past I have only applied pigments in powder form.) I have used the pigments for the tracks and roadwheels - so far.
All that is left now is a couple of decals and then the balance of the weathering, being a pin wash then pigments for dust etc and the placement of tarps etc on the vehicle.
Then that will be one down and I had then better finish my Bf110G-4 for the nightfighter campaign and then back to this campaign for the other 6+ kits sitting on the shelf begging to be finished.
Batteries are of course flat in the camera so photos to follow soon.

Hi,
here is where I'm right now. It is vintage Tamiya Pz.kpfw. III ausf.N, I think the molds are older than I am... The handles of a transmission covers are already removed, it was mt mistake to put them there. I'm working now with the fenders equipment. and the turret interior.

Here's my "entry" into this Campaign:
I think I started this early last year (or was it the year before ).
Right now, paint and decals are done. I saw one some time ago that had the colors outlined. I started that on the one side....and I kind of like it. The tracks are attached, but they have no paint yet. The MGs are just about done.
To complete this kit I will:
1) finish the outlining with a black "Sharpie" pen,
2) paint the tracks
3) finish and install the MGs
4) give it a light wash and some pigment dusting
Mike

Just a reminder all that the campaign is for projects that you had/have started and are not complete as of the start date of this campaign. Not previosly completed builds. Campaign will run til' 31 December 2009. Thanks again for your efforts. "Q"
ps. Also, if building a model for entry in another campaign, it cannot be used for this campaign.

Just took some pics of the finished builds of these last weeks.

No you didn't miss something. I must have read the campaign criteria too fast. I thought it was to finish a kit that had been languishing on the shelf for a while - which this was.
Thanks for the complement on the Diorama -

That is what the campaign is for, but this was built and completed long before this campaign ever started. That's what confused me, when you said you got motivated to finish it for the 2008 Orangecon. My apologies for not making the guidelines clearer. Model on! Thanks, "Q" I thought it was to finish a kit that had been languishing on the shelf for a while - which this was.
