Here are update pics of my Tamiya Pz II, built OOB. Decals were put up last week. Today the tracks were fitted back. Need to retouch it as some paint chipped in some places -- oh well, thats the struggle with vinyl tracks, I guess. Some more tidying up on the weathering, and it should be done before the deadline. Cheers.

Howdy all. Don't know why it has taken me so long to notice, but we have our own gallery for the campaign. Please post your completed builds there. I was initially going to just scrub the thread to tally the numbers, but posting them in the gallery would be soooooo much easier...go figure. Thanks again for all the participation. Much appreciated. There is still time to knock out a kit or two before years end! Hope Santa is nice to all of you this year as well. "Q"

I was able to get at least one of my "Needs to be finished" kits....well, finished. Granted I had to yank the undr carraige off of it and build it as in flight, but hey, its done! Plan on hanging it and a few of my other less than stellar builds in mock dog fight action around my man-room. Thanks for looking. "Q"

Hi Q, Good of you to notice! My bad, I posted the T-55 on the Cold War forum first by mistake. I completed a DDR T-72 months ago for the Cold War campaign. The T-55 is a model I had started some time ago but never completed so it seemed perfect for this campaign which in turn motivated me to finish it. Very creative campaign this!!!

Cheers, Gary

If I will finish this model I will finish anything on time...Bad luck is still tracking me. This time I had to remove all the paintings from the turret sides. Anyway I still hope to get the ribbon for this campaign

Nice job and congrats on finishing Lap. Looks great. Still a few days left in the campaign folks. Tidy up those last minute builds and get em' posted. I know since I finished my semester of college I have been on a building spree. I have gotten six completed from my shelf of doom since school let out on 7 December. Going to try and get some more knocked out before the 31st in an attempt to really clear the bench. Thanks to all who have participated this far. Much appreciated. "Q"

Realizing those towing hooks weren't going to materialize out of thin air, I finally sat down at the start of this week and made the three buggers from styrene sheet, bolts sliced from some spare parts and stretched sprue.
I've surprised myself by actually making progress. At the moment I've got the kit minus the tracks primed.

Check out the build thread for the full update with more pics.

Ok, I so finally got some pictures together..

I could have SWORN I signed up for this campaign a while ago, but looking in a couple of days ago, I hadn't.

So here I am. It's been a rough year, moved twice, and the usual assorted drama, so
I have not had any serious armor mojo at all this year.
But what I have tried to do is get some more pieces finished for my 1/72 timeline of powered flight hanging from the ceiling of my 4th grade classroom.

I've got an He 178, an F86, Mig 15 and the Northrup Gamma ' Sky Chief' hanging up already. I'll have to get pics tomorrow

Tonight I grabbed pics of the other couple I finished up lately.

Fine Molds 1/72 X-wing Red5
survived the moves pretty well. It's a fun little kit, no drama at all, other than those spiral decals on the cannons. I know the engine sections are not metallic, but I like the look better.
If I had it to do over again I would have used Bare metal foil on the baseplate logo

On the other hand...
Airfix 1/72 Lunar Lander..
This kit has been 'in progress' for 5+years and I finally realized that it was destined to hang from the ceiling above a bunch of 10yr olds to whom my AMS matters not a whit!

it's well, it's an Airfix kit. Facets on the lander are all wrong, instructions are bad and the fit is worse. My build is no great shakes, the paintjob less so. Looking now I see lots of flaws, but it's going down to school tomorrow to hang 8 ft up.

A couple of the smaller antennae arrays on the upper portion were destroyed somewhere along the way, but it will mostly be seen from below anyway.
That's Rollo candy wrappers covering the lower stage.

Nice job on the Challengers Scott. Ok, a little off topic, but it is an unfinished project just the same, just on a larger scale is all. Just to prove I am making headway on something, here is a couple of pics on my 1:1 model I am working on. 1965 Ford Falcon 4 Door wagon with all of 21,000-ish miles on her. Wimbeldon White with Red Sierra Vinyl interior. I've rebuilt the engine, and cleaned and painted it and the engine compartment. Now it is just a matter of setting the engine back in the mounts and bolting everything back up. Its slow going but I am making headway. Hoping to have it at least road worthy soon, so I can get back to the plastic. Thanks, "Q"
This is how she looked before I started...not bad for a 44 year old car that has been sittng under the sun for over 35+ years. The tires still held air when I picked her up some 4+ years ago

This is what I started with in the engine compartment....ugh

And this is what she looks like currently after about 3 weeks of work. There is still a lot to do yet, but 110% better than when I started.

The transmission before-- Again, yuck...

and after rebuilding/painting

Thanks, "Q"

Beautiful job Matt and nice rebuild.

Also a nice clean white pickup in the background.

which one gets better gas mileage?

And two more questions how are you going to get Leaded fuel?

Will this car run on unleaded fuel?

I guess so but have to ask.

Now the last question where do I post my pics for the campaign at?

I have the P38 done and ready for posting.

Lets have get er done 3 or 4 heck have so many can do one a year for 20 years.

Merry Christmas all.

Hi Jeff. To answer the questions, the Toyota is long gone, and the Falcon would actually get better mileage believe it or not. Right around 22mpg to be exact. Not bad for a 45 year old car. I add a lead additive to the fuel (It's for off road vehicles only though ) but plan on having hardened valve seats installed at some point so I can run unleaded fuel. Just need to save the $$ to have it done as it aint gonna be cheap. As to posting the pics, there should be a gallery space set up under the photos tab above. Find Currently Active Campaigns and click that. Scroll down until you find this campaign, upload from there. Hope that helps. "Q"

You are close to being complete Alejandro. Keep at it and thanks for posting!
Nice work Mike D. Love the X Wing. Make sure to post a pic or two in the gallery.

Here is T-35 that was my Get It Done Again Project; ICM kit, Fruil tracks, Jordi Rubio barrels for the 76 and 45 MM guns.

What I'm thinking about doing next is to depict the last combat deployment of this beast in a winter scheme for the defense of Moscow in December 1941. That might have to wait for "Get It Done Yet Again" if that campaign comes to be, as I still have waaaaay too many partial kits muttering at me when I go to the stash to get another victim . . . er . . . potential contest winner started

Well this will be my last post in this campaign and unfortunately it is the one that didn't quite make it.

This is the Trumpeter 1/16 T34/76 1943 model that I commenced 4 years ago. It was packed 3 years ago when I transferred and nearly got itself finished for this campaign. The pics show what I have done (and still have to do). The grand plan is to do a dio similar to the one Mr Mox has in his albums somewhere - that is a T34 with the engine deck off and the turret off in something resembling a field workshop scenario with a figure there to show the size of the beast.

This is a rough idea of the layout - with the turret off to one side - I still have to scratch something that looks as though it will hold the turret.

The engine wiring is some (un)educated guessing, and I still have to add the fuel lines from the top of the fuel tanks to whereever - I haven't been able to find any pics or references showing where they go to.

It is a pity most of the interior gets lost once the upper deck is attached - still no different to aircraft interior detail I suppose.

The tracks are in the shed having just been painted a metallic iron/steel colour and then to receive a few washes to introduce some dirt/soil colours.

The upper deck gear and weathering are all that need to be done once the tracks are on.

This is what has kept me busy all afternoon

Figure painting is not my forte and the pics are a bit shiny as he is done with oils. He is in the drying box now so see how he is in a couple of days as to how much more work is needed with highlighting and shading.

Anyway life has now caught up with me and this was my last modelling session before 2010 - so I am about 4 hours off finished . Maybe if there is Round 3 of this campaign then it will get done .

Thanks for running this campaign - at least I got 3 finished.

Congrats Brian and Jim on finishing. Now a note for the rest of you out there in campaign land. This campaign will close on 31 December at midnight, mountain time here in Colorado. I will do my best to get all the ribbons awarded asap as I am leaving the country for 2 weeks on the 2nd of January and want to try and get that done before leaving...so, please post your completed pics in the gallery so I can make quick work of it. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to all who have participated. I can probably forcast another GTJDA campaign in the future so stay tuned. "Q"
