Thanks Andrew. I got the camo applied over the last hour or so. Now its time to set back and enjoy a cold one or twelve. Will wait until tomorrow to gloss coat it in preparation for washes/decals etc. Thanks, "Q"

Hi guys,
a second entry: the Gefechtsaufklärer Panther/Tiger, with parts of
- Revell Luchs
- Revell Kingtiger
- Hasegawa Panther F
(all 1/72)

I am not sure if I will be able to finish it before the deadline, but one can always try, right ?

Next step will be to slightly sand the edges of the camo-scheme due to multiple masking.

What if...what if you mated a VW bug to a SdKfz 251 and stuck a modified 37mm gun on it?

The base kits are the 1/48 Tamiya VW and one of Dragon's 1/72 251 kits. It's almost complete, some weathering and such to be done.

Cool VW half-track beetle! I have '69 in my car port. With baha kit, a welding torch and an M2 the possibilites are endless! LOL

Great idea,
Tony

It's been awhile since I did anything to my build. Having finished my A-10 builds I thought I would give this thing some love. I dealt with the height issues for the gun platform and added some detail to the supports for it. Added the fenders and securing bolts for them. Made up some skirt hangers out of left over PE frets and cut the skirts from a "Garage Sale" sign. Still a bit to do to it yet, but it is getting closer to receiving some paint. Thanks for looking. Thanks Tony. I was able to get some paint on this thing this evening, at least the base color anyways. Still tossing some camo pattern ideas around my head. I need to go back in and add a couple of things I forgot to initially. A minor setback if you will. More pics to follow soon. Thanks for looking, "Q"

Well how's this for a camo scheme? I was a little hesitant at first, but after removing the masks, I was pleasantly surprized. The side skirts and gun shields will carry a similar pattern. Since I am shooting Humbrol colors I need to wait awhile for everything to dry/cure. I love the way this paint lays down. Smooth as silk and dead flat. Thanks for looking. "Q"

Thanks Scott. I just got through putting on the tracks and road wheels. Hoping to have this thing complete before the end of the year as I have a contest I would like to enter it in. Thanks again for the kudos. "Q"

It's getting closer and closer to being complete. Still a few nit noid parts to add, and some further detail painting but it is getting there. Next set of pics I post will be of it completed.
Thanks for looking, "Q"

Well, I said the next set of pics would be when it is finished. I have a figure I plan to add to it, but for all intents and purposes, it's complete. Hope you guys like it. Thanks for looking. "Q"

I have to admit being a bit worried about how the hot exhausts are blowing right onto the ammunition trailer!

The trailer is made of the same stuff the space shuttle is made of so it never gets hot. I might make something up to divert the exhaust away from the trailer. We'll see. Thanks, "Q"

Matt-
it looks great! As I was looking at the model, I actually started looking for a shot of the exhausts because with the crew compartment near the rear you have to worry about exhaust fumes. IMHO what you have is right on.

Drowsy Flak Gunners....very bad.

The Trailer is a great add too.

Thanks Steve. Glad you like it. I have since mounted the vehicle to a base and set the trailer aside for the time being. I added two crew figures to give it a little more life. Played with the camera some to see what it would look like. Thanks, "Q"

It looks awesome Matt. Love the camo, weathering and the bent up skirts.

And after thoroughly scrutinizing your build, I didn't notice a single rivet out of place or missing...

Great work Mathew!!, if given enough time, I am sure the german engineers will have come out with something like that.

My Idea of a what -if is something simpler. a Sgt York working for the ISDF.

still need to finish the tracks. maybe this weekend.

Wow! Excellent build, Matt. The camouflage is very original and the overall look of the vehicle is very "1946".

Thanks for sharing your great build.
