Hello Lars,
Good choice on your model. I have been doing a little bit of studying on the Norwegian campaign. It seems to be a topic that is overshadowed by the French campaign, The Royal Norwegian troops did a great job in blunting and fighting the invaders.
I have a great respect for all of the men that fought the invaders and after they surrendered, They fought on in the "small war" for 5 years.
Thanks for the photo's and updates and for reminding all of us that have forgotten the brave men that fought in 1940 to defend their country.
Cheers,
Bruce
Well we are in a small corner of the world and it did go farily fast, althought it was the place the defenders withstood a German invasion for the longest time before succumbing, even though it was only 2 months. The real "irritating" bit about it is that it could have been much longer if the allied general staff (Britain, France, Poland) would have talked and shared information with eachother, and if they would have trusted the Norwegian high command with relevant information. When the allied forces pulled out of northern Norway and the Norwegian forces capitulated the incircled Germans themselves was just minutes from capitulating and was actually suprised that Norwegians surrended to them....but thats the way things are.....enough off topic
Have been hard at it the last 2 days having the house to my self. One thing is for certain is that if it haden't been for all the PE and the lack of paint this puppy would almost have been finished. First time I ever have been dealing with it and I have been struggeling a bit with the lack of the right tools. Also been doing some stupid things like when I was dryfitting the superstructure, and forgot I was just dryfitting when I added the last part and glued in place
The kit it self is actually a good fit (have I learned from different reviews) but II have done a couple of things wrong and have had to put some putty here and there. Got to clean that up a bit more and there are also some glue spots here and there I have to clean up.
Here are some more bad pictures (got to find that camera), have to at least improve the lighting next time. But thankfully I don't have any macro abilities on the phone
It's going to be an open solution with the comander and a crew member hanging out. I am waiting with all small parts that easily break of (like the hatches and the MG) because I just know I would do that with my fat fingers.

Hi all.
Here is my Dragon 1/35 Panzer IV Ausf F.1 (IIRC).. No problems that were not self-induced. Magic tracks are very easy to build, if a little tedious.
I started it while on holidays and finished it a few days ago. Photos make the rust on the muffler look much brighter than it is...
Regards
Warren

Matt,
Is the photobucket album for WIP shots? (I usually leave mine on my own PB account...) I tried to follow the link but it asks for a password, so I wasn't able to get there.

As I was saying I was lacking paint to go on.Looks like I at least can get hold of Panzergrey tomorrow from a shop about 50 minutes drive from home (beats waiting 3 weeks and triple the price in postage through the Internett). Just wondered if there are any tips on any possible primer? I am going to use the Tamiya aerosols this time as I am waiting to buy airbrush equipment until I know if I am going to build more then just this kit.
Is there a need for any special primers with these? (must admit that I haven't checked their site for tips but just home and we need to shine the place up until tomorrow so just a fast entry here). Or is it just to blast away?

Yup, done. What did you think?
Well, the Panzer looks clean, with a coat of dust that I think is perfect for the period that you want represent, with not a lot of damage.
With the figure, you have get a great result. Perhaps there are better modeled figures that the kit used, but the result is very good.
The base (is it a bridge?),in my opinio, is very clean, but looks pretty.
A great work Jesse.

Hi Matan.
Your Panzer IV looks so "brave", a survivor from a lot of combats.
It like me so much.

Thanks! The kit represents a Panzer II from the first few days of the Polish invasion, so battle damage/weathering would have been fairly minimal. I agree that the figures aren't great, typical Tamiya fare. The base is just a piece of plywood, just something so I don't have to touch the pastel dust on the tank when I'm handling it.

Well I ran into a little issue with my Marder build. A tiny part broke off and has disapeared never to be seen again.
So im thinking about putting on folage for camo, never done that before.
Anybody have any ideas for aftermarket products that are available?

The easiest and cheapest way to create foliage is using doped up cheese cloth and oregano. I'll also be doing a Henschel Production King Tiger. This is a 1/72 scale by Dragon.

Matan, great job on the finish. How did you accomplish that fantastic wear/weathering affect. The dirt is really cool also.

Hi Matt,
Figured out the photo problem, my pictures had to be compressed. But I did not have start photos of what I was gonna use for my original entry. And since everyone is doing German Units I figured I would re-enter with a Tamiya Japanese Type 97 tank. I started it 2 days ago but the photo system is down so I cant post up the pictures yet. But I have been taking in progress photos and will post them when the system is back up.

I'm thinking of doing a Dragon Panther A late Normandy (the 60th Anniversary kit). I probably would do the first kit decal option which is listed as PzRgt 12 at La Villeneuve, Normandy, June 1944. I have Cavalier zimmeret for it. My questions are:
Is anyone already doing this one?
Does anyone have any details about the unit, etc? I'm planning on doing an American Sherman to go with it in the Sherman Campaign that's starting later this year. Planning, that is
Anyway, I'm no German armor (or any other) expert and am planning on an out of th box build with the zimmeret just 'cause I kinda like the way the Panther looks and this seems to be a fairly straightforward but good kit.
Any comment/suggestions very welcome!
Mike

Sounds good Salvatore. Best of luck with the photo system and looking forward to seeing your finished kit. I was hoping for some diversity in this campaign. Keep on building.

Howdy Y'all
I have changed my mind to another kit. I will build a Pz.Kpfw KV-2 754{r}. I'm going to use HobbyBoss's 1/48 scale kit so I can move something out of my stash. Looking forward to the campaign.
Y'all take care now.

Hi,
Finally got to start on the Tamiya Jagdpanzer 38T. Been at it for a couple of nights now, and found out it builds fast. Quite an excellent kit -- good fit, seamlines are almost invisible. So far my only nags are the molded tow cables and the gap shown in the last pic. I may not have glued it close enough, but I think that's how far it goes -- a little filling should correct it. Overall I'm impressed with the level of engineering put into the kit. Will be working on the tracks next.
Cheers,

Hello Salvatore,
The system is being moved to another server at the moment and will be back to full working status very soon.
@Tat Baqui: Nice job so far will be watching to see the finished build.

Thanks Bob -- will do my best not to disappoint.
Have installed the tracks today. No major clean-ups and went on smoothly. Got it on in a little over an hour. Having these partly built tracks and exact counts in the instructions make the build a lot faster and simpler. Somehow am a bit wary that this fast build will go slow when painting time comes.
Cheers,

Hi guys,
Guess the photo gallery is working a little better and I was finally able to get some photos up loaded but not all of them so here is the T-97 before I started working on it. Spruces were nice and clean not to much excess
Wasnt able to upload the progress of the paint but here it is with the 3rd color applied. The 3rd color, brown, was brushed on
This is the only picture I was able to up load of the final product
to much light on the flash. With limited few any comment would be greatly appreciated aas I am fairly new at modeling and always looking to improve.
Thanks guys.

Salvatore, the model builder's best friend is an airbrush. It makes painting realistic camo a breeze. They range in price and reliability. Also, for the tracks; I use a spray can of Stone Effects in brown to quickly add a dirty look. Everything else comes with experience. Keep on building.

Salvatore, nice beginning (spread) photo , I handbrush or airbrush my armor depending on:
1. model.
2. camo.
3. how I feel at the moment.
The only item that I will not hand brush is Future or a flat coat.
After the washes, oil pin details, and wearthing you cannot tell the difference between brush or spraygun, plus many front line units used a brush to apply any touch-up if no airbrush was available. The only suggestion I have is, would be to dirty/dust it up. Keep up the good work, and remember the key words "it is for relaxation, fun, and me"
