Hi All, great builds going on, and some great paint jobs.
I'm running a bit late on mine, I know we've got about a week to go but there's no way i'm gonna finish on time, am I alone in not being able to time manage my campaign build?????, I would be up for a small extension, say a week maybe 2??????, any chances...... kind campaign leader.......
Jason
I may face the same problem...

My Trumpeter KV-1 is at the Primer booth... waiting for time to paint..
I might manage it in a week but 2 weeks would be perfect

I would appreciate any extension if one is being considered. I am still playing catchup in several campaigns with only marginal success so far.

An extension eh? Let me have a little think about it.
Posted: Saturday, May 21, 2011 - 09:33 AM UTC
A little extension would be perfect, not too long, but just enough time to paint and weather my little KV, as I said earlier a week or two would be just right, very, very kind campaign leader!!!!!!!!!!

My KV before the battle[after the battle ,the crew of No. 864 counted a total of 135 hits on their tank, none of which had penetrated the armor-my kit was to little for represent so many hits ]:
Next will be another braille build, a KV 220,this time a winter camo, prepared for Leningrad Battle.

Jan, I don't think you will find that many russian AFVs in WW2 had much stowage as it was either lost, given away or just plain not there. You have to remember that everything was in short supply in the Soviet Union, except perhaps NKVD officers...
Good point Warren but I can't seem to leave well enough alone. Pictures of some of these that survived until near the end of the war show somewhat more than just plain stripped down appearance. In several cases it is evident that they were carrying war trophies or other booty including but not limited to full beds, boxes even one with a sofa and another with a rocking chair on the rear deck.
My SU is roughly based on the one photo that I posted several pages ago. It's fairly bare but had that larger drum on the fender, a tarp on the fender toward the front and cleaning rods on the opposite side. I spent some time trying to replicate a larger tarp but had no success. I rummaged through the spares box and found a left over tarp that would have to do.
The decals are now on and covered with future and further weathering will continue. I'll add a bit more crud to the tracks and suspension and try to have it done by the former official end date. It's just too tempting to take advantage of the generous extension and procrastinate.
Here's where it currently stands as of yesterday.
@madmax5510 - WOW, wish I could build at the lightning speed that you did with your KV. The tracks on that kit look to have really nice surface detail, Dani.
Cheers,
Jan

Jan, it is your odel. If you want to place a bed on the back go right ahead..
I would say the capitalist items would have been confiscated very quickly by NKVD persons who would have used them for themselves..

Warren I have been finished for a while but have been working on my building as a backdrop for it so I have been holding off on putting it in the gallery
@Lap that looks a lot like my KV except my kit was the old Tamiya 1
