@Bob: Awesome! Thanks Bob I knew it could be done just not the mechanics of it. Now I can clean up my photo's and just leave the relevant pics there.

Phil, the Dana is looking great. Decaling looks just like paint. Can't wait to see the improvement once you get a little weathering done.

Ok boys this is what Im gonna be workin on for the next few weeks. Old old old kit from Nitto/Bluetank, the M4-18 Tractor in supposed-to-be-1/35-but-not-really-sure-about-it-scale
One thing I know is that this kit is much older than some of our modelers in this campaign
Oh yeah I also think that building this vintage will be a b*tch!

Phill, that Dana turned out looking good! I like the subtle normal wear and tear on it, well done!
Posted: Monday, October 03, 2011 - 05:35 PM UTC
@Rei: Most likely, it looks as though it was motorised in it's first issue too? I've got an old Blue Tank Alligator that looks like it was motorised in it's first incarnation and would be of dubious fit and scale. At the time these were cast it was more about it being motorised!

Now Rei ... mate you've got a mission on your hands with that kit ,,I've got one and it is not good ..no interior detail to speck off ,,crap tracks..road wheels .molded on tools .pretty much everything ,,even the rear idler wheel is to small but had to stick with that but new tracks ..road wheels ..i fully rebuilt mine .replaced bloody near everything including the molded on head lights .gave it a full interior ..no engine ..couldnt find any pics of it .. and then Hobbyboss brought out there one and now i have one of each
Here's some pics of mine
And the two of them together

Phill you sure did an awsome work on that Hobbyboss M4 Tractor and thanks for that reference. I love working on vintage kits but this one is gonna be a real challenge specially for this campaign where you have to build straight OOB. Im just hoping a good paint job and weathering will make mine look good somehow
Chris your right, both this tractor and the Aligator were produced by Nitto as a motorised toy/model. I just submitted my LVT(A)5 in the Korean War campaign and that too had access for a switch, engine and battery box. I think I will just fill this tractors engine compartment with a block of clay to give it some extra weight.

Rei ,, mate they gray one is the Hobbyboss ..the one thats painted is the same as you have ..gotta admit the Hobbyboss was alot easier to build lol .its like the work that went into the head lights alone was more than the Hobbyboss M4 ...i had to cut up some old AK47 7.62x39 shell cases for the right size and thickness of the metal ..the mesh was fun as well ..but hell it turned out well
Joel .. thanks matey .. it only looks like that cause of all the new bits
Phill

Great Dana, Phill. A impressive kit in itself. Never thought I would see that kit in plastic.
I will be building a Leman Russ tank - sci fi model, but it is still OOB

@Jesper: Interesting looking kit! Is it for one of the scifi fantasy wargaming games that currently abound? And if not from whence does it hail from? I can't wait to see it finished fella!
