Here are some pics of my out of box build.

It is a Tamiya F16C Block 32/52 Thunderbirds 1/48 scale. I just finished this kit and it was a fun build, but the decals were very tricky! lol!

Some nice looking OOB builds here
I think i build that F-4 about 30 years ago but mine didnt look half as good
Love the pink Panther have to get myself 1 of those but did they paint the tires too
The LRDG Chevy looks great too, how surprised could the figures look practice, practice, practice
I think I'm seeing double cause I thought I just saw that F-16 in the Tamiya Campaign but it does look good, better lay off the

Bill, a excellent build, and certainly a outstanding decal job. It's no easy feat to get those decals to conform to, and bend around those compound curves.

Bill,
Sorry but your build can only qualify for one campaign. You will have to choose between "Strictly OOB" and "Total Tamiya" campaigns.

You may want to check out the thread on campaigns.

Hi all, I think the answer is in the title "Pink Panther" due to the secrecy of their ops its almost impossible to get reference for the vehicle but what I have found out is the colour was mixed by hand so all vehicles would look different a bit like german cammo mixed in the field and yes they painted the tyres in fact they painted everything in true British Army tradition "if it dont move paint it,if it moves salute it" all the best, enjoyed this campaign.

Thank you all for the kind words! I had some more days off over the weekend, so I pressed forward. And I am calling this one done. I used the prescribed Tamiya paint mixes, and finished it with a coat of flat finish from lifecolor. I must say, I am more satisfied with the finish I got from the life color then what the model master stuff gives, so I plan to stock up on it. After building a for a campaign that is technically under armorama, I decided to break out a T-34 kit. I only hope I can weather it half as good as the finished products on here! Technically it will be another oob build, as that is pretty much all I do, so I may post some pics, as well as ask for tips. I like the weathered look on armor, but need a ton of practice.

@paintman1: Good job on that Viper, How were the decals on the bottom? Props for doing that kit, I usually avoid the big decals, as I had a bad Academy experiance...

Thanks Joel.
I think it needs some more chipping, and the campaign still runs so there's time for improvements

Thanks again mate.

And to all of you: This is going to be a fantastic gallery! Well done everyone.

Been hard at work on the M7, but there isn't a lot to post photos of at this stage. One of the rare issues I'm having with the DML kit is the rather poor fit of the upper machine gun turret to the hull. Try as I might, I just couldn't' get them to line up. I ended up having to use plastic scrap to fill the gaps, then jury rigged new wield joints with Squadron White putty. He's a shot of them. Final shaping when the putty finally dries. A little cleanup, and it's interior primer time.

Great Thunderbird, Bill. It looks great - no matter what campaign you put it in.

Michael, very nice build. I really like the faded look of the paint job.

Would a Sci Fi tank be OK for this campaign as long as it is build OOB? It is a plastic kit and has tracks, but has never existed in reality. I see no problems, but just what to be sure.

Hi All,

Some great work going on here and a real nice mix of subjects. I finally got round to chosing something to build for this campaign. I'm going to have my first attempt at a Spitfire. Its going to be quite a change from King Tigers! I will be building the hobbyboss 1/32 Spitfire Vb. It looks like a good kit, nicely moulded and has a fair amount of interior detail. No idea how accurate it is but as long as it looks like a spitfire when finished i'll be happy

Heres the kit photo, a fair amount of parts and only comes with the one small PE fret

Well I made a start on the Spitfire. Just built the pilots seat and controls. Can anyone suggest the best Tamiya clour for the interior?

Cheers

Jesper: Thanks for the kind words good sir. Merely applying useful stuff I am learning on this site!!! As far as your kit build, I am no moderator, but I assume if it is out of the box anything goes!

Chris:

To delete a photo from your gallery: Go to "my photos" and open it. Select the image to be deleted. Click that image and open it. Click the "edit photo" button on the toolbar beneath the image (this button is the blue screen - with - pencil 1st from right on the toolbar). This opens a screen with various editing options for that image. Down at the bottom, you will find "If you want to delete this image completely, click this box". Click the box to right, and go down-screen and click the "submit changes" button. Your selected image will be gone!
