Congrats Jesper on the finish.
Matthew - that looks like a fun kit! I could see myself doing one in the future. Congrats

Some great looking models being finished!! Here is an update on the Matilda
Suspension finished:
And one side test-fitted:
I also started on the Bronco tracks. You get 6 of these sprues with 28 links each. According to the instructions, you need 71 links per side, so that leaves quite a few extras:
These tracks have some very nice detail, and are pretty easy to clean up:
One sprue done, 5 more to go...
More to come. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Here's another, Tamiya's 1/35 M60A1 with reactive armor. It's 99% finished (it needs an antenna and some stowage) so call it done. It's OOB, painted with MM acrylics and weathered with artist oils.

Grenadier: Nice paint chipping on the Ki-84, and an M60 as well! Wow!
Mark: Nice work on the Matilda so far, I'm looking forward to doing that one myself one of these days (though with the kit track).

Just a small update today, as I finally had some bench time and got a bunch of sub assemblies done. It may not look like much, but there are about 60 Matilda parts in this picture! The fit is still great. When starting work on the upper hull, I did have to drill a whole lot of holes, mostly on the front fenders.

Another small update. Turret assembled and some interior painting done, as I will build this tank with the hatches open. Major components dryfitted (see picture), sans the suspension and wheels. Trying to figure out what to assemble before painting. Will probably pick up some paint at the LHS today. Still lots of small details to add. This is really going to be a race against the clock!

I am racing against the clock as well. I hate painting the tires on road wheels. I have paint on them now but I'm not sure how well the black covered. Thank goodness the return rollers will be hidden under the track skirts. The base color and the black tend to look the same with my eyes and the light I'm using.
I still have a lot to paint: lights, mud flaps, spare track and center guides, machine gun, tracks, and tools I also still have that gun barrel to make round and paint..

Nice job on the PzIII. I really like the finish - nicely modulated and weathered without the all too common overdone chips and dings, as if the tank was driven off of a cliff! Really nice and realistic.

Stephen,
Thanks for the comments. Do you plan to be at the IPMS Nationals in Florida this August? I will be there with my wife for a vacation time as well.

Yes, I will be in Orlando for Nationals! I already have my reservations and I will be having a table in the vendor area to sell some 'stash' kits that I will probably never build anyway. So, find me in the vendor area (Table covered in Black Watch plaid) and you'll have a place to sit down and hide your purchases from SWMBO!

Great Stuart, Lapman. Love the heavy weathering.
The KI-84 and M60 really came out great, Grenadier. Two excellent entries.
Very nice Pz. III, Tom. The tracks look a little strange under the drive sprockets. Are you planning to put it in a diorama? Otherwise the tracks would not bend "upwards" under the drive sprockets.
Beautiful bird, Gonzalo. The colorful markings look really good.
Great builds all of you!!

Here's another update on the Matilda. Made quite some progress today but I'm afraid I'm going to run out of time. Still have to put the tracks together and do all of the painting....

I am catching up on painting. I had a lot more to paint than I thought (tools, tracks). I did get some stuff on the rear hull panel done.
I don't know if I'll be done by tonight since even if I get the paint done, there is still decals and dullcote to put on.

I definitely won't make it before the deadline, but the kit will get done. Now I can take my time.
