I say again - Vallejo liquid mask was a mistake. Still getting little balls of the stuff turn up as I add washes. More painting and weathering to go.

Thanks for the comment and the campaign!
I should go back and dirty the tow cables more and of course finish a base. I call it done. I signed up for too many group builds on Armorama but it's keeping me productive
1/48 Tamiya kit, Eduard zimmeritt, RB Barrel, Hauler grill screens. Painted with Tamiya, Vallejo liquid mask (hated it!), Mig wash and pigments, black oil paint to highlight details, and figure from Dartmoor set

I second the first part, not so sure about the last part modeling wise though.
Nice work on the KT, love the units with the colored knights on the turrets

Ahhh the KT w/Porsche Turret from Tamiya,
I've also build it
It's quite a good fit etc, but it's such a shame that you have 'mesh' for the .... don't know how to call that... air inhaust? Those 2 triangle formed thigs half under the turrret
I'm also going to restore that KT this week, it's going into the MR. Muscle (to remove the paint), and it's going into primer and paint again (painted it with brush first, now it's time for airbrush)

@Bas - It's nice to do Tank Over-hauls - good for the painting practice.
I got a Tiger I in the Getter Done Campaign going now. It's hard to decipher or decide on a camo based on old photos. Heck, here's a pic can't hurt right? I can't tell if it's whitewash or what. I'm thinking just do the tri-color standard?

Some work on the tracks. This was the first time I've built tracks that had to be assembled with individual pieces. Lots of work!
Decals next. Not looking forward to getting them to stick to the homemade Zimmerit.

Can't believe how well the micro-set and micro-sol work. Made those decals stick to the zimmerit pretty good. I think I'll be sticking with that stuff for decals.
Anyway, basics are finished, on to details and weathering.

Yep, set & sol is wonderful ^^
It's looking good Alex, the colors are still quite hard, but I think that won't be for long
Your tracks are also very nice ^^
UPDATE :
I've cancelled the restore project of the KT,
my impatience (yes, worked with PE therefore, NEVER combine these 2) accidently broke the barrel off, that was the drip xD...
(I've also failed several attempts with rainbow filters?, don't know how it's called )
I'm just going to buy a nice kit from Dragon, and start all over again

Good luck Bas !
Finally after finishing the KV campaign, i'll have some workbench time to start my build for this Campaign.
It's the AFV Club SturmTiger with an ATAK Zimmerit set.
A few years ago I did the Tamyia version and it was quite fun.
For this one I'd like to try a Winter version, let see how this turns out..
Stay tuned

I started my SturmTiger this afternoon.
Pics tomorrow... 4am...too tired and sleepy to get good photos
The AFV Club has a great amount of detail so far, a PE set, metal inner gun rifling and I got a Zimmerit set from ATAK.
It's going to be fun !!!!

I could do more to this, but I like the way it looks so I think I'm going to stop and call it finished.
There is a significant flaw that I decided not to fix. Kudos to the person who spots it. Hint: It's only visible in one photo.
Edit: I don't think these photos do it justice. It looks better first hand. Especially the cables and tools. They look grey in these pictures, but they have a metallic sheen when viewed directly.

Hi Folks,
Completed my effort for the campaign
1/25 Tamiya Tiger OOb apart from Aber engine mehes.
Painted with Tamiya Acrylics and oils.
Apologies for the poor quality of the images, I have just bought a new camera and I am still trying to work it out!
Cheers
Keith

Hi all,
Would it be possible to join this campaign? I started my trumpy 1/16 Kingtiger in april (so in the campaign time frame) but i hadn't enlisted. I have photos of the kit before construction and many inprogress photos.
I had started a seperate thread here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/176584&page=1
Maybe you guys can decide if I have gone too far already? I would really like to join in on this one.
Cheers
Matt

Greg,
How did you like that 1/48 Tamiya Tiger? I need to find a replacement for my 1/35 Tiger I mid Production (moving story, don't ask) and was looking at a couple of the quarter scale Tiger kits. I've already built the 1/48 StuG IIIB, Tilly, and Universal Carrier, and really like them all. I was thinking of the Tiger I Afrika or Tiger I Early Production.
Aside from the quicker build times, my display cabinet loves the little guys.

First congrats to Axel and Keith for the good looking Tigers completed.
I did the AFV Club Tiger I and I think they are better and cheaper then the Tamiya ones(see Perth Military Modelling Site review). I do have the Tamiya ones also but haven't tried them yet. I like Tamiya, and either early/late version you choose is good.
I can't agree with you more on the space saving needs. Even in 1/48 I wonder how full the shelves will get in the future. But, you can probably get 2-3 x more builds in there.
